  1. Any day now we’re gonna get a game when they finally put it all together. Any day now.
  2. Yeah, he looked like his was in pretty good spirits the whole game. Adding to the mystery.
  3. Free throws, bunnies and floaters. And I don’t even know what to call that 2nd to last possession. That’s a new one.
  4. Largest lead…………………………9…………12
  5. 3’s: TOR 10-18, 55.6% ATL 2-14, 14.3%
  6. Undoubtedly, yes. I think we can all agree. This team needs more than that to be a championship contender. But… The comment says close games. Hawks have played in 27 clutch games. Record is 11-16. Make a couple more free throws, catch a pass and don’t miss a layup, keep 1 guy from scoring at least 6 of his points and they could very easily have been different outcomes. Not saying they would have won them all, but maybe enough to be just over .500 or more. Win just 5 of those games to be 16-11 instead of 11-16. That would put their overall record at 23-22. Tied for 8 with Orlando. 2.5 back from Indy at the 6. Looking at all games now, they’ve lost 18 of them by 10 points or less. Out of those 18, they’ve lost 9 games by 6 points or less. Do I think “1 big who can consistently catch and score and 1 lock down defender” would have helped them win 5 of those games. Yes I do.
  7. Was it the Miami game when he was asked those questions. What’d he say?“He’s a Hawk” and “I’m going to keep it professional”. Not very professional being seen arguing with the head coach. Especially if it’s a warranted azz chewing from (allegedly) going rogue.
  8. Someone who takes higher percentage shots and makes them? No chance.
  9. 2 former first round picks just sitting there not being used. They just going to keep playing this guy while the tensions are becoming more visible by the day? I get not wanting his value to drop…or if they were contending. But they are a bubble play in team with or without him. If the writing is on the wall, what’s it gonna take to get these 2 kids on the floor? Are they in the Hawks plans for the future or not?
  10. Screw it. Bench him and revoke access to all team facilities. Give AJ and KB minutes.
  11. Welp, that just about settles it then. Looks like we’re just going to have to take matters into our own hands now. Gonna have to break up in groups. Cover some ground. Start selling chocolate bars and raffle tickets door to door for a dollar…now til the end of the season. Collect the earnings and make a loyal contribution to the cause. Could take a page out of the “Save Ferris” handbook. Take empty jars with us to work. Set ‘em on a table and prop up a sign that says “Save the Hawks”.
  12. Drive to the basket, go up for the shot, bring the ball back down, try a “wrap around the defender pass” underneath to someone who’s not ready for the ball (CC), fumbles it and goes out of bounds. Then there’s Bob once again getting excited, “ONYEKA!!!!”, then calmly continues, “can’t finish”. Luka gets near 35 a game. We knew he was getting 40 against us before the game even started. Show of hands…who had a conversation with somebody and said, “chit, he’ll probably go for 50 tonight”. Whole game Nique is like, “They can’t give him that much space Bob.” 17 out of their 27 in the 1st. By the 10:00 mark in the 2nd, hawks lead 38-32, Luka up to 23. Nique again, “Just too easy for him, Bob. They can’t allow him that much space.” Ends the half with 41. Team defense is a whole other story. But just give me 1 guy. 1 guy that’ll step up and say, “Ah uh, not in my house”.
  13. Through all the injuries this year and the team chemistry becoming more cancerous by the game, they are really only 2 players away from having different outcomes in these close games. 1 big who can consistently catch and score…and 1 lock down defender. Sure, there are other areas of weakness but those are two facets that contribute to The Achilles Heel almost every game.
  14. 35 yrs old. Diving after loose balls. Running up, down and all around as the Youngling’s mope up and down the court. Wear it on your sleeve Patty Mills. Strawberries and all.
  15. I have to agree with you on this one. Media very well may be more favorable if the W’s + L’s were flipped. But as long as the player vote exists, he’s going to have a long row to hoe.
  16. Understandable. I couldn’t get a Murray only to work. That’s on me I guess. Thought it might be an avenue where Jazz would be willing to come off 2 FRP’s and where we aren’t taking on a lot of $ right away. Get the picks and keep working toward a future acquisition. KO could just be a temp rotation piece for the rest of the year if they move CC. Samanic is a question mark. Considering our bench though, not like it could hurt us any worse. Who knows? Trae might be able to pick the kids game up if he’s given a chance. Might pan out and turn into something. And still have room to bring in a more proven, impact player.
  17. Shewww. 1 for 7. Give ‘em a pass on the Quick Back after a short West Coast trip. Keep firing fellas. Get the juice flowing. Nice to see the other 2 out there knockin’ some rust off.
  18. Just to get the picks, plan on Olynyk walking. Can use the picks to bring in somebody else later.
  19. Say they won’t come off Lauri or Fontecchio. Would you take Samanic + Jazz 2025 Round 1, Jazz 2027 Round 1. Take Olynyk expiring UFA just to make it work? Call BOS, see if the rumors are true that they’ll give a 1st for Bey (they use their 6.5 TPE). Try for their 2026 Round 1. End of the day, Hawks get Samanic and 3 FRP’s back to work with (2025, 2026, 2027). Plan on letting Olynyk walk. (If they can’t get any better offers for Bey from anybody else, and BOS won’t give a 1st, then try for as many 2nd’s as they can get…while they can).
  20. Agree. When it’s this close though, you would think that historical achievement would carry some weight. Probably does though doesn’t it? For specific media darlings…
  21. I watched a recent episode of The Hoop Collective the other day. They did a mock all star selection. Was hoping to gather some insight on the medias perspective. See what their reasonings were. Windhorst and Bontemps left him off completely. Both did acknowledge his accomplishments this season. After all 3 selected their starters, Macmahon took him with his final roster spot (12th pick/7th reserve). He was the only one. Said he had to take him because his numbers just jump off the page. Made me wonder if the media is really paying attention to everything that’s going on across the league or if they’re just reading box scores while relying on reports from someone covering that specific region.
  22. Not really shocked he wasn’t named a starter. W’s + L’s are undeniably a factor at play for the media. 25% vote and they give the Hawks no love. But to be dissed by Players/Coaches/Peers is something else entirely. They have a better appreciation for in season accomplishments. More so than fans not in the know and some media who ignore the Hawks and have already written them off. Maybe W’s and L’s are a factor for players too? But I would lean more towards how he’s viewed by his peers around the league. Attitude, demeanor, style of play, physical attributes, etc… Have to take in account that a lot of guys are having a good year and there are only 7 more spots. Brunson is killing it. But out of Trae, Brunson and Maxey…Trae is the only one in the NBA top 10 in PPG, Assist and Steals. Not to mention December and his in season accomplishments year to date. I don’t think the coaches would ultimately base their decision off of W’s and L’s. For them to leave him off would also speak volumes about how he’s viewed across the league.
  23. Certainly getting interesting. Makes you wonder if the FO will now give serious thought to “all options” that might’ve been brought to the table…..
