  1. I saw that quote earlier. Did you forget to add the part where he says in Summer League.
  2. I liked him at first but now, not so much. It's the way he says everything as if it's an absolute. "I'm telling you my sources tell me AI is going to be traded to Atlanta. That is a absolutely with out question, lay my hands on the bible, swear on my grandchildren, bet your life savings on it, Jesus told me in a dream guaranteed fact." This is also the reason I can't stomache Chris Dimino.
  3. Quote: I think teams just choose to do that, it's not a rule. I seem to remember Artest going last year after his suspension so he could get his feet wet again Yeah, anyone can play in the summer leagues. The rule he's thinking of applies to the NBDL.
  4. AI and Chris Webber averaged more points than any other combination in the league.
  5. BK also drafted Royal Ivey or Chris Duhon. Passed on all the point guards in last year's draft. I don't have alot of faith in BK's ability to recognize what a good point guard looks like so that fact that he passed over Foye, Rondo, and Marcus WIlliams isn't saying sh*t to me.
  6. He better be the smartest motherlover in the world because this just doesn't make any sense.
  7. Forgot to post. Most want Aldridge or Foye. Least want Gay or Thomas.
  8. I'm suprised Bargnani got that many votes. I would have thought Roy was going to win for most wanted. I think the second poll is no longer necessary. It's very clear nobody wants the Hawks to get Gay.
  9. Quote: Haha. Stern would be even moreso on the Spirit's side and tell Belkin he'll never own another NBA team ever again... well, at least while Stern is Commish I meant take him out as in RIP. That would mean Stern will tell him that after he's dead, standing over his body like Arnold Schwazenager in Total Recall(sp) "You'll never own another NBA team ever again." lol.
  10. 1. We get a f'ing player that helps us win. Not necessarily Shelden. 2. Aldridge falls to us. NBADraft.net has him picked at #10 by the Sonics. WTF are they thinking. 3. I like your number 2 to so I'll make in my 3 4. I like your number 3 so I'll make it my 4. 5. Belkin runs up on stage and tries to open the black box before Stern. Security takes him out.
  11. Quote: If we were to begin the year with a starting lineup of: TLue JJ Smoove/Marvin (star whoever looks best early) Shelden Zaza (?) I dunno. We might be improved. Tough to say. If we could plug in one more improved piece we maigh be in the running for the playoffs. I fully expect Smoove and/or Marvin to come back next year playing all-star basketball. Just the homer in me I guess. When I look at that line-up it makes me want to vomit, not because it can't be a good team but because we have options to look so much better(on paper). It's the same as last year with Shelden instead of Al Harrington. Better defense less offense? I'm hoping that Josh comes back balling out of control. Most players usually have their breakout year in their 3rd season so I'm hoping the same holds true for JSMoove.
  12. Welcome to the board. One thing for certain is that with the draft, our redundant players(this includes Al Harrington), and free agency; Billy Knight has what he needs finish the team this season. If we can field a complete team next season it may be easier for fans to deal with the knocks this team is going to take. A lot of people want AI or JO and I wouldn't be upset with trading for a superstar big man like JO. I don't want to see guys like Josh Childress, Marvin Williams, or Salim Stoudemire traded away so early in their careers. At the same time it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for us to go into next season without a complete team or superstar with all the resources we have this offseason.
  13. This works for us, but would NO make the trade. They have Paul and West and some other people I can't even think of. I don't think they'd move up for Shelden so it would have to be someone they want and we don't. Imagine if they traded with us for Brandon Roy, Bargnani, or Gay. Do we want to make them that dangerous? At least we'd get two picks out of it. I can't wait until tomorrow.

    BK's fate

I'm pretty sure the owners already know what he's planning for the draft and FA. BK's future depends on how the Hawks play in the upcoming season. If we perform well than he's good unless Belkin gets the team. If we blow again he'll probably get the boot. If we start out slow I think Woody wil be the first with tire marks on his back giving BK until the end of the season. This may sound strange but the thing about this offseason that scares me the most if the loss of Al Harrington. The loss of his vet presence and familiarity with the team could hurt us alot but I'm not sure how important it really is in the NBA. I'm almost want him resigned in a better safe than sorry type of way. I hope for the playoffs this season. In hoping for the playoffs by default I'm hoping to keep BK because if we make the playoffs I don't see how he can fired. I find it to be a bit disturbing but it is what it is.
  15. With the NBA Draft and our Hawks Draft party coming up this Wednesday, June 28, I would like to take this opportunity to share some insight with you regarding our extensive preparations as well as express our excitement for what we consider to be a very important opportunity as we continue to upgrade our team. Over the past year, our nine scouts, coaches and I have scouted close to a thousand games in the U.S., North America, South America and Europe. Our process is very thorough and watching games in-person is only a small part of what goes into really "knowing" a player. We have watched countless hours of video, crunched a lot of stats and conducted individual meetings with many of the players in this year’s draft class who participated in the recent Orlando Pre-Draft workouts or came to workout for us in Atlanta. We also tap into the resources we have developed in our many years of college and NBA experience. We talk to current and former coaches, teammates and numerous other contacts for insights on players. Our focus is on evaluating the whole player, which includes everything from physical attributes and style of play, to character, leadership, personal situations and family history. All that input goes into our decision-making process and in just the past two years, has led to the addition of Josh Smith, Josh Childress, Marvin Williams, Salim Stoudamire, Royal Ivey and Donta Smith. All are young, talented players and outstanding people who we believe will have long, successful careers in the NBA. As we approach draft night, we currently have the #5 and #33 (the third pick in second round) selections. There are many talented players in this year's draft class and we are very confident we will select a player or players, who will add to our energetic and dynamic team that has tremendous upside. We made progress last season, but my staff, our owners and the entire organization are far from satisfied. We know there is a lot of work ahead and we won't rest until we achieve our goal of providing you with a perennial playoff team that can contend for the NBA Championship . Thank you for the excitement and passion that you and all of the fans continue to show for our team, and we look forward to introducing the newest Hawks to you as we gear up for what should be a very successful 2006-07 Season. Sincerely, Billy Knight Executive Vice President and General Manager ------------------------------------------------------------ At least they are doing their homework. I think I'm suffering from paranoia because in part of this letter I feel like he is preparing us to get Shelden and in other parts I feel he is preparing us for another top pick. I also feel he is saying we know what the hell we are doing so shut up all the while saying relax, we have the fans best interest in mind.
  16. We took Mardy Collins because we would like big point guard that can bolster the backcourt and play next to Eddie Jones or Mike Miller or Damon Stoudamire.
  17. Quote: Sterling did it for years didn't he? Why would Stern going out of his way to prevent that here? Good point and I have to agree with you on it. I hope Stern steps in just as much as anybody else but in the back of my mind I know it's just wishful thinking. No owner can possibly hurt the value of the entire league. No individual owner or individual player for that matter.
  18. Quote: The correct term is "If history repeats itself" So many tax dollars wasted in the Georgia educational system... Agreed, definitely a better choice. BTW I went to school in Virginia.
  19. Quote: The future can't repeat, you stupid son of a bitch. Lol. I had to laugh at this outburst. Anyway, the title should be...if the future repeats THE PAST, blah blah blah. Although it's not said, to me it was implied and made sense. And while I'm thinking about it. The future can repeat it just has to happen further in the future.
  20. Got it. Thank you sir. That probably wouldn't be such a bad idea to try with the Braves. The closest team north is the nationals, south is tampa bay and west is Texas(?). Not sure about any of that, not really into baseball that much.
  21. I saw some of that game and Bird was going off. He made some incredible shots at he end. Quick question though. Why were they playing in New Orleans?
  22. Returning power tools and lawn equipment on time is a Man Law.
  23. Quote: to get "Kwamed" by Jordan Lol. That should be a real word. I offer this defination. Kwamed - to have your a** chewed out daily thus stunting your athletic growth towards believed unlimited potential and in some cases causing regression.(Also see Diawed).
