After the RMR is became clear to me that Salim is much more productive playing off the ball opposed to playing the point. Anthony Grundy is more valuable than most people think, and deserves a roster spot this year. He does a good job of controling the game for the Hawks, along with playing good defense and giving the Hawks a combonation of size and speed that we don't have at PG. I like this backcourt alot... Speedy/T Lue/Royal/AG JJ/J Chill/Salim/Bozeman (For Bozeman, read my last topic) I know that is alot of minuets to spread around but Woody is good at splitting up playing time. I think it could work.

Donte was a good fit for us and we should have kept him, since we didn't I think that is why CB makes a good fit. He is similar to Donte because he is an athletic player that can play the 1 to the 3 and looks good running the floor. And he has a better basketball IQ than Donte, and looks better in half-court sets.

With the Hawks declining Donte Smith's option, I think they should go ahead and sign Cedic Bozeman to a contract. He is very simialr to Donte and I doubt he has the joker attitude Donte has which Mike Woodson didn't like.

Orlando is going to be a force this season as well. So I would give them a playoff spot. They are so deep up front. Howard, Milicic, Hill(if he comes back, which I heard he will)Ariza(did they bring him back?), and I think I read Fran Vasquez will be coming for overseas this year. That's a young group(Aside from Hill), but they will get the job done. Jameer Nelson will control the game for them, and JJ Reddick got very lucky he got drafted by the Magic because it's a nice situation for him. And I read this morning in SLAM that the Magic are interested in Bonzi Wells, who would also fit well there. As for us, I'd love to get to the playoffs! But we will need to fight hard every night to do so, are we still too young to compete? Our younger guys have shown how special of players they will be but still havn't been a model of consistansy. I'm sure they will be, I like each one of our younger players' game but for right now I don't know if we are ready. If we can add a productive vet big man, than our playoff chances will skyrocket. We wil see.... GO HAWKS!!!

Loosing Al's scoring may hurt, but in this situation I beleive trading Al(Even for as little as the rumor has it)may be addition by subtraction. Al has a tendency to force things on the offensive end, causing a bunch of turnovers for the Hawks. There is no doubt that the 4 players around Joe Johnson will have to step their game up a bit, but maybe having a mix of guys taking good shots and not forcing things is better than one talented post player who does force things. It will be up to Speedy, Smoove, and Marvin to score the ball more. But if they don't force things, I think We'll be fine. ...That's in half court sets. This year, we should be on the break alot. Expect alot of energy on the defensive end with Al gone. Forcing other team to turn the ball over, and helping our wing players score on the break.

That would be a great trade for all parties concerned. Sign me up as well!

I was at tonight's game and you guys are right, we need another reliever. ...More specifically, a guy who can get on left handed batters. After McBride left the game we were basically screwed whenever a lefty came up. If we can get a reliever who can get that job done we should be fine. Wickman is great, McBride I think is very reliable, I like Villarreal, and Tyler Yates has a strong arm.

The image isn't the problem. It's the talent we already have at PG combined with Philly's asking price. I'm not trading a part of our young core in a package to get Iverson. Especially after signing Speedy long-term this summer, signing Tyronn Lue to a long-term deal last off-season, using draf picks on Salim Stoudamire and Royal Ivey, and of course after the sign-and-trade for Joe Johnson. I refuse to take anything away for Allen Iverson. But I bet we can put as much or probably more fans in the seats if we have a winner on the court than if we give up too much to get AI.

Royal Ivey is hands down the most underratted player on this site. Him, Joe Johnson, and maybe ZaZa were the only players last season who we could depend on to be consistant. Royal is a big, physical PG who plays aggresive defense and plays under control on offense. He may not have an offensive game, but if you find him an open jumper...He'll hit it. I'm not saying Royal is a great player or anything like that, but he sure is reliable.

I wouldn't put Grundy over Ivey, but I cirtanly would like to have him. We will have a roster spot for him.... He brings the combonation of size and speed in a PG we don't have right now.

Are we bringing Anthony Grundy back this season? He is on our summer league roster so I am assuming we are which is good because he did a nice job for us last year. He will give us the size/speed combonation that none of our PGs have.

BK was rumored to like Elson, but he can get more than one year from a winning team.
