  1. Quote: I like the posters sentiment in getting us something we need (a PG). But his execution is flawed and poorly thought out. First off, Brevin Knight simply isn't what we need at starting PG. Sure he can control and offense. But the problem with him is that if you don't have the ball in his hands ALL the time, he's worthless. The guy can't shoot from anywhere on the court. Secondly, I disagree with his thoughts that JJ is better as a pure SG. I find it absurd that anyone who has watched JJ all season could come to this conclusion. The thing that has made JJ look so special this year is his ability to do it all. He's a great scorer. But he's also a very good play maker. He's a guy that could literally be a Lebron James Lite type of player putting up 24/7/5. You don't relegate someone with those overall skills to simply shooting the ball. You want your offense to run through him. So #1 and #2 just don't mesh. We DO NOT need a PG that needs the ball in his hands at all times to be successful. We want the ball in JJ's hands practically every time down the court. We just need someone who can spot him to keep defenses honest, hit open shots (which they will get) and play defense. So we're basically swapping Marvin and a #4 pick for the #1 pick, which is, to put it bluntly, taking it in the ass. Especially when you consider that this draft doesn't hold a single must have player. And Noah isn't coming out, #1 pick or not. Correct. I believe Marcus Williams would be a perfect fit.
  2. J.P is the same player as Big baby, and most of us salivated over the possibility of having him on the squad. What JP lacks in hops he makes up for in sheer girth. You sit him on the block and he is an immovable object. If pg come into the lane he would absolutely run them over. And for someone who supposedly can't jump he avg 10 rpg. He dominated pretty much everyone he played against, including ACC, and Pac 10 opponents. It was JP's play that made Morrison's career possible. The only reason why JP is a 2nd rounder and may not even get drafted is because of prejudice against a Latin big men. There is no precedent in the NBA. I mean think about our Batista. He avgs 20 points and 15 rebounds in FIFA and Uruguay and he only gets looks from us and Golden State? But let some European stiff avg 5pts and 2 rpg and everybody is trying to draft his azz with the first pick. Hahaha that is the stupidest thing i've heard. Batista cant jump and has nowhere near the bball skills Big baby had in the 9th grade. Go watch some film before you start talking.
  3. Aldridge is good but he's not the prospect like a Duncan/Howard. If Marvin was in this years draft I would think he'd be a better prospect than Adam Morrison who the Bobcats are more inclined to taking. Morrison though is a great offensive talent, he can just score plain and simple he knows how to get the ball in the basket. Marvin is younger and has more of an overall game than Adam. Williams is a way better rebound, definately more athletic and has excellent footwork on the perimeter. If anyone remembers Marvin killed the agility tests.
  4. Rathburn does about every sports game Fox sports south televises. He does a damn good job with the Braves and Hawks. I really like Smitty, he really knows the game and like the fans he can point out the obvious. Hawks need bigs who can board and control the post. We also need a decent point. We don't need a great point b/c JJ can carry the load sometimes. Cassell would be perfect. I wonder if we could trade for Brendon Haywood.
  5. Thomas w/o a doubt. We need post defense and this guy plays alot taller than 6'9 with those lanky arms. He has to have a 7' wingspan but man lay off Marvin the kid is gonna be solid in a few years.

    Big Baby

His skill set is what makes me believe in this guy so much if he could lose maybe 10 lbs. I believe as far as prospect goes he's no.1, imo. Just watch how agile he is to be that big. He has good handles a wide body and grabs boards plus he can really score. Lamarcus Aldrige really disappointed me and I hope the Hawks don't pick this guy. The best fit's are: Tyrus Thomas- Unbelievable leaper. Defense is what seperates him. Shut down Lamarcus and had him scared to take a shot. Needs to add weight, bad. Fits Hawks to a tee as a f/c. Bargnani- Though I don't like Euro's as draft choices though BK screwed the Hawks on Gasol,BKnight, and Lo Wright/SAR trade he seems to have alot of Dirk like qualities. BK like's Euro's but his D is questionable from what I hear. ......and my pick Big Baby- Their's just something about this kid, he has really impressed me with his skills in the tourny. If we pass on this kid I think we could be making a mistake. I like Thomas as well so we'll see what happens. Marcus Williams is every bit as good as Deron Williams with more upside. Also Babcock really screwed us after the Smitty,Blaylock and Deke years. Those teams were unbelievabley good especially the first year Laetner was here and Deke was what Ben Wallace is today. Ok enough venting.
  7. Skip Bayless knows nothing. All I heard from him was one scout said this one scout said that. These guy's know as much as we do, especially skip and Woody.
  8. Big baby definately impressed me more than anyone. Your crazy to wanna trade Chill for a pick.
  9. Big baby was very impressive. Whoever compared this kid to Tractor Traylor obviously hasn't see him play. He is very quick to be 310 lbs. He definately has made himself a lottery pick.
  10. One guy can make a difference for team defense. Yea if his name is Artest or Wallace.
  11. Yea but he can play some damn ball. Chill is becoming one of my favorite players b/c of his effort. So his shot is ugly, he is still a helluva baller.
  12. You know what I mean. In a realistic trade scenario. Chill looks like he will be an important part of this team. He plays great D and brings alot of energy off the bench.
  13. He played all 5 positions at UGA but was best known for his point-forward skills and defense.
  14. Actually Chill does some point-forward things for us but a true point-forward no. I notice that Chill brings the ball up court alot even if JJ is in the game.
  15. When your one of the best players ever and an 80's legend then you can be a little cocky. He isn't Freddie Mitchell.
  16. Your right, Ivey broke down the Lakers D by driving right to the lane.
  17. "I've just been coming out and being assertive and getting my guys involved first, and then I will come looking for my shot," Johnson said. "If I can get them going, then it opens up for me." A quote from Joe on last nights game. You gotta love that attitude. Also shows what kind of player he is.
  18. Chill and JSmoove were a big reason we won last night.
  19. Al Harrington 6-9 SF from St. Patrick's (HS) 18.9 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 3.1 apg in 37.2 minutes Incoming Lamar Odom 6-10 SF from Rhode Island 14.2 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 5.4 apg in 39.5 minutes Change in team outlook: -4.7 ppg, +2.4 rpg, and +2.3 apg. L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown Outgoing Lamar Odom 6-10 SF from Rhode Island 14.2 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 5.4 apg in 39.5 minutes Incoming Al Harrington 6-9 SF from St. Patrick's (HS) 18.9 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 3.1 apg in 37.2 minutes Change in team outlook: +4.7 ppg, -2.4 rpg, and -2.3 apg We throw in a pick maybe a 2nd. Unlike Al Odom can actually play the 4 while being a true "point-forward" adds more of a scorer to go with Kobe.
  20. He looks real good. I think Lamarcus has the most potential of anyone in the draft including Rudy Gay. I also believe he'll be the best of anyone out of this draft. I don't think he's on the same level as a D.Howard or Bosh but he sure is close.
  21. Al's dumb turnovers get on my nerves all the time and how long has he been in the L?
  22. Al has no where near the skillset Marvin has. This guy isnt worth close to max.
  23. We have enough scorers. We need a pg who can play some D and is pass first. Perfect fit = Rondo
