  1. Ok, I will settle for Jahidi White as the freebie. Then wait for Dallas to make a cut. If Donta and Delk can't bring in Podzoklin. Then trade Donta and Delk, and possibly a 2nd round draft pick if needed, and bring in Nate Robinson from the Knicks. I like this guy. He would be a fan favorite. Also, Denver has a lot of PG's. Maybe Boykins would be available. Another guy that would be a fan favorite. Having a small guy like this would pump up the crowd, plus pump up the players on the floor. They can be game changers!
  2. Hmmmmmmmm......didn't we trade some draft picks for JJ. Hey Podkozlin stock just rose! Or actually lowered. So maybe we can land this guy cheap. DALLAS (AP) -- Dallas Mavericks center Pavel Podkolzin could miss up to four months after a stress fracture was discovered in his right foot. Podkolzin, traded to Dallas after Utah selected him 21st overall in the 2004 draft, is scheduled to have surgery next week. The 7-foot-5 native of Russia played in just five games last season and made just one preseason appearance this month. I SAY WE GO FOR IT!!!!!!
  3. Josh Smith PF, and Harrington SF........that is what preseason is suggesting.
  4. Keep in mind, that Curry didn't really want to play here. His main goal was to stay in Chicago. He didn't even stay for his entire visit, and he first came out, and said he wasn't even going to Atlanta. He used us in leveraging with the Bulls. Yes, I would have took the gamble on him. No, I wouldn't have wanted him here, since he really didn't want to be here.
  5. The signs right now would point to Dallas. It's possible, but very doubtful that Dallas will keep all their big men. I think the Hawks will have a Dallas Maverick Center.
  6. I got a little TV that just plugs into the wall, or runs on batteries. I can hook it up, and can only get a couple of channels. PAX is one of them. I live in Canton (40 Miles North of Atlanta).
  7. LOL......well $50 for a +45 Win Season is too much of a gamble. Too many things can happen. This is a 13 Win Team like so many say. Or wait 13 last year, this year they are hitting 25. With Maglore and Zaza, we dominate at the C Position in the NBA. Zo and Shaq can't even beat the Hornets, almost lost to us. So Miami has the Antoine Cancer, they will fail. What if you start off bad? I say we play for the draft, if after 10 to 15 games we are not showing a strong playoff team. So trade Al, get draft picks. Then we can draft Adam Morrison who is being compared to Larry Bird. It would be much easier making the 50 dollar bet next year for the 45+ Win Season. PG Joe Johnson SG Josh Childress SF Adam Morrison PF Josh Smith C Zaza and Maglore NOW THAT HAS NBA CHAMPIONSHIP WRITTEN ALL OVER IT!
  8. Actually Donta is 2nd on the depth chart. It's at SF, right behind Harrington. Williams and Smoove are being groomed at the PF. The Hawks are actively trying to trade him right now. They are taking the Joe Johnson Trade approach. A guy with some upside, and future draft picks for Maglore or Nene. I'm guessing Maglore is a Hawk before the tip in Southern California Wednesday. I think Donta will be involved. Wouldn't be surprised if Anderson, and draft picks accompany the trade. Then the Hawks will move Marv to SF (backup), Batista backs up the PF, and Maglore and Zaza are the centers.
  9. What type of error messages? I think most of us have had our tickets close to a week now. You don't have your tickets yet?
  10. "49 wins? I'm willing to put up $50 right now against that" Ok, how do you suggest putting it up? What is the bet perspective for me? If the Hawks win 50 or 48, then I lose?
  11. Right. Those are the reasons he won't win the scoring title this year. You jockey yourself to put in guys that can rebound, pass, get assists, etc... However, at the end of the game it's the team that has the most points that wins. (ala Ben Gordon) Salim is on that track. It's just a matter of time when they learn to get this guy in the game earlier. His points in the 1st Quarter, are the same as the points in the 4th Quarter. He was no doubt a steal in the 2nd round. Now, how many times does Josh Childress name gets mentioned in the MVP talk? I think when he leads us to our 49 Win Season this year, that JC will be in the same breath as the MVP's this year!
  12. I got mine! Well it looks like Livingston is going to be doubtful. Doctors are wanting him to rest for a month. So I guess we get to watch the Sam I Am Man against Joe Johnson. If JJ don't play. Then the Clips win the best backup PG. Lue .vs. Cassell
  13. Ok, no ESPN for the Hawks Friday. For some reason, the Hornets and Hawks Game didn't appeal to them, and they are going to show the Nets and Knicks. Kings and Lakers get the 2nd part of the double header. I guess watching Nate Robinson will be the highlight for me in the first game. Kobe in the 2nd game.
  14. Salim's Assists and Rebounds are the gravy. He can shoot. I'm not sure why he hasn't cracked 30 yet in the preseason, but he is lights out. Go ahead, throw his name with Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Peja Stoakavic, etc.....he can stroke with these guys!
  15. I know someone posted about our last game. That Yahoo's Recap mentioned Grant Hill was out, but no mention of JJ. Same thing tonight. No Shaq, but JJ and Marv gets left off. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Gary Payton banked in a 15-footer as time expired to give the Miami Heat an 84-83 exhibition victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night. Dwyane Wade led Miami with 21 points, and Antoine Walker added 19. Heat center Shaquille O'Neal did not play because of a strained left calf. Al Harrington and Donta Smith each scored 19 points for Atlanta. Payton hit the winning shot after Miami grabbed two offensive rebounds. Walker made two 3-pointers, one with 37 seconds left, to help Miami overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Updated on Monday, Oct 24, 2005 11:02
  16. Anyone know if any Hawks Games will be on TV for the preseason? I did notice for Fox Sports Pacific, they are doing a Laker/Clipper Preview. It's Tuesday at Midnight. Thought this would be interesting to see. Since 3 of our first 5 games are against these teams. Also, ESPN will have a double header this Friday. I'm not sure what teams they are covering, so there will be a couple of games to check out Friday. It just seemed like the Hawks always showed a PreSeason Game. Since we are running out of time, I was just wondering if we had a game that was going to be showed.
  17. WIN- Golden State WIN- LA Clippers LOSE- Portland WIN- LA Lakers WIN- LA Clippers WIN- Memphis LOSE- San Antonio LOSE- Dallas WIN- New Orleans WIN- Boston 7-3
  18. Well it seems the Thrashers are making a statement. They aren't winning, but becomming known as the Goon Squad. I have to say that I like this approach much more than the Falcons Way of doing things. Bottom line....is winning. So the Falcons get the nod there. I just have a problem with the Falcons constantly looking for the good boys. The guys that are good in the community, donate their money and time to charties. That's all good and stuff, but isn't what they do on the field more important? Arthur Blank has stated publicly on wide receivers Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. How they wouldn't be a good fit for Atlanta. Hmmmmmmmm........since when does two guys that get you a 100 yards every Sunday, not a good fit? Since our receiving core is made up of guys like Dez White, Brian Finneran, Michael Jenkins, and Roddy White. I understand what having bad attitudes can do. Can cause locker room problems, can get in trouble with the law off the field, etc... I don't think you totally disregard attitude. You do factor it in. Since when does attitude over shadow talent? Football and Hockey are rough sports. You need tough guys. Why is the Falcons forming a Humanitarian Team first, and a talented team second. Finneran dropping balls, or any of our receivers getting very few yards after the catch, is as much to condem, as a guy messing up the locker room. You have to weigh it out, but why always go with the good guy, when the bad guy plays better. If I was a coach. I would tell my GM to bring me the most talent possible. I will work their attitudes out. If not, we can get rid of them. Let me have a shot of screwing their heads on straight. I would be mad, if I knew my GM wasn't bringing me the best talent, cause he agrees with the owner, and good guys is the best way to go. Dennis Rodman has been the only athlete in any sport that I didn't want to have any part of. I think he is uncoachable. However, if he can lead the league in rebounds. His techinicals and suspensions might be a small price to pay to have the best rebounder. Guys like Artest and Rasheed Wallace don't scare me. They have so much talent to offer. Yes, they will cost me a game or two cause they will argue a call late in a game, and get a technical that proves to be the difference in the game. So they cost me a couple of losses. I think they will earn me, many more wins. The Thrashers have looked bad. They really don't have any guys that have a bad rep., but they are working on it...lol. And it isn't like the good guys are always good. Remember Eugene Robinson? Won the humanitarian award in the Falcons Super Bowl Year. Then he decided to go prowling in the streets of Miami. Just on the eve of the biggest game in Falcon History. Falcons need some attitude. Thrashers need goals. Braves need a pitching coach. (I nominate John Smoltz. Let him be a player/coach) Hawks just need to start the season already!
  19. Neither Don't look for Hawks or Ticketmaster. People steal tickets, so they don't put things like that on the envelope. I have ordered Lakers and Clippers tickets. Both had a return address of: After 5 Days Return to: (then it will have a West Virginia Address.
  20. 12 points in 36 minutes. Led the team in turnovers? Isn't these numbers that a Boris Diaw could put up? His number 2 status is gone in my book. I know a lot of you said you wouldn't trade him for a couple of guys that got picked lower than him in the draft. I disagree. Don't put any more worth in them than needed. Guys like Vilaneuva, Granger, Paul, Gomes, Robinson, etc..... I would in a heartbeat trade Marv for 2 of these guys. I woudn't of on draft day or before, but now I think you can take into consideration summer and preseason. Yes, it's still not as good as regular season play, but I would definately gamble on any 2 of the guys listed above for Marv.
  21. Well that is what the AP is reporting. He signed a 3 year deal with the O's.
  22. So you have watched the Celtics? Gomes didn't stick out? Still Felton over him for rookie of the year? Granger had a great game last night. Duncan didn't play, but 15 boards and 19 points has been one of the best stats I have seen for a rookie. Salim is on the verge of his breakout game. I think it will be interesting to see who wins the sophmore race between JR Smith and Sebastian Telfair. Two guys on the way up!
  23. Charles Barkley has always supported the dress code. He makes fun of guys comming to games in leisure wear. I have always disagreed with him. I think it makes a millionaire look good, to dress casual. I think wearing suits and such, is a way of bragging. As for comparing this to other businesses. It's not a good arguement. After all, this is basketball! Why don't they wear suits when they warm up? Because it's better to have the flexibility and loose clothing to get warmed up. I wouldn't mind seeing a few coaches out there, with jogging pants, and a T-Shirt on. They do a lot of movements on the sideline, and wearing suits have to feel uncomfortable for their activity levels. Who wants to watch the bottom line on ESPN, and see AI fined 5 grand for unappropriate attire in the Nov. 8th game at Atlanta. I think the big problem is players wearing things of controversy. Like a rapper that has harsh lyrics in his songs. Instead of taking each case on an individual basis, and to avoid the racism issue. They just ban all the casual wear. I think we all can logically think of how a Snoopy Shirt would be allowed, while a Snopp Doggy Dog Shirt would not. If a player did wear a shirt that wasn't appropriate, I think that team could be warned by the NBA, and then the team can privately tell that player that it's not appropriate. If you think this is unfair, just check the new hockey rules. They have a instigator penalty now. If that rule gets called. The player faces a fine, and 1 game suspension. THEN THE COACH IS FINED 10,000!!! Imagine Mike Woodson getting fined for Josh Smith elbowing someone on purpose. Now, is this a small way of the league inching their way in, and getting the headphones banned? So many athletes now, listen to headphones before a game. You see them entering the arena, or getting off a bus with headphones in. This could be considered a dress code misconduct. The headphones no doubt show a form of dress.
  24. Section 121 Row G Emails should come out soon, notifying that they have been printed and shipped. Since the Ticketmaster site has it that way now, then probably today for the emails.
  25. I'm not so sure on Marv getting 30+ Minutes a game anytime soon. Before or after All Star Break. In 39 minutes, he got 12 points. And remember the competition level that the Hornets offer. No blocks and 1 steal by Pachulia can't be right. I guess they aren't too active in the stat count right now. Hornets had a steal with 8 blocks. As for Al and JJ both getting 20 PPG. Let's just go ahead and throw Chill in. I say these 3 get 60 PPG, so I don't think we will have 2 twenty point guys, but maybe 3. I think a lot of games these three will put 60 points up. Obviously the averages will break down differently.
