thatsmydawg
Did anyone notice that Dion was included in the group that Kasten asked regarding having to deal with the "play or pay" promise? Has he already gotten a thumbs up for next year? If so then bye bye Toni and Nazr ( if we make a trade). What do you guys think?
Guest
I think something is up.I don't see how management could be so confident in this team.Sure if we don't make the playoffs they only shell out alittle amount of money....But you also have to figure that with hype, if there is a let down it usally leads to jokes and embarassment.Do you realize that if we don;t make it people are going to laugh....When you make promises and stuff you better back it up. But with this teams injury history it's hard to be confident in this team AS IS.....So my feeling is that Babcock/Kasten have some sort of plan or deal in the works.....I mean, how long has it been since Kasten has been vocal about something? We hardly ever hear from the guy and out of nowhere he comes out with this..... I just think for Kasten to do this something is in the works.I might be wrong, but I think something is going to happen.Did you notice how there was no mention of Kukoc? He is our vet player and he wasn't even mentioned and he hasn't been in camp either....I smell a trade and probably involves Toni/Nazr/picks.I think it might be clear Dion is going nowhere so take him out of it. KB21
It would take some doing to make it work. Nazr is a base year player, so we would have to get a team involved that is under the cap either in a three way or a straight up deal. As far as I know, there are only 3 teams that are under the cap: Chicago, LA Clippers, and one other team that I'm not sure of. Even if the Hawks traded Nazr, they would have to get a back up center somehow. So far, they have only worked out 2 guys that can play center: Sylvere Brown from Tampa and Dan Gadzuric from UCLA (in on the 25th?).
Guest
Everything points to if a trade happening Toni would be involved. He shot only 27% like the last 7 games of the season...They would be smart to move him NOW.Surely we couldn't get anything decent with just Toni and a couple of picks. The only problem with your conspiracy theory is that Toni isn't even in the country to ask. He was going to the World Cup and then back home for the summer...like he does every Summer. Guest
Probably getting drunk somewhere. He likely will come in out of shape again. "The only problem with your conspiracy theory is that Toni isn't even in the country to ask." Don't they have telephones were he is at?
Blunt91
I don't know for sure if the hawks are looking to trade Toni but I will say that alot of basketabll analyst thought that Toni wouldn't stick with the team after the trade last year. Most of them said that the Hawks would probably trade him that summer but the Hawks brought him back for another season. Maybe this time Toni isn't so lucky.
