Kentucky coaches lose game -- and then some

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Kentucky's coaches lost more than a football game at The Swamp -- they lost cash.

Police at Florida are investigating a break-in to Kentucky's locker room in which a robber stole several hundred dollars from the wallets of Wildcats coach Guy Morriss and his assistants.

Kentucky lost to Florida 41-34 Saturday.

"It's an unfortunate incident that we've apologized to Kentucky for,'' Florida assistant athletic director Chip Howard said. "We take pride in securing all parts of our football stadium. We'll make sure it won't happen again.''

He said a staff member for Miami also had money stolen from the locker room when the Hurricanes visited on Sept. 7.

Rednecks. I guess I am the first black redneck. The University of Florida is a top 50 school in every national ranking. Its Business, Medical, Engineering and Law programs are always amoung the best. It is the 11th most funded school in the nation. Its average GRE and SAT scores are top 10 in the SE trailing only Duke, Vandy, GT (my grad school almamater), Emory, UNC, Rice, Wake, and UVA. It is top 10 in # of National Merit and Achievement scholars. And is affiliated with of two nobel prize winners. And has graduated several Rhoides Scholars. It ranks just behind Harvard in # of patents and moneys recieved from patents. It is a research 1 university. In addition it is the birth place of Gatorade and Powerade. So if UF is not the urbane enough for you then you must be Ivy league grads.

PS. Tell me of another school with such a well rounded overall atheletic department. Football Basketball Track Baseball Soccer Tennis Golf Volleyball. UF is ranked high in everyone.

Georgia is another program that is well rounded like that. And we will becomiming to tame the gators sooner then later.
