Why so much hate for AL?

why???? Ben Wallace isn't going anywhere, which leaves Al as the top available free agent this summer, and he's unrestricted. That's why there are rumors left and right.

That doesn't change the fact that if he gets anything near a max contract he will be close to untradable.

It's not like KG who gets rumors despite being under contract because everyone wants him

I'm not trying to put Al on KG's level by any stretch of the imagination, but like you just pointed out, if there's x amount of teams that are interested in signing Al, isn't it reasonable to assume that in >2 years they will still have the same interest?

no not at all. Right now they're interested because he's up for grabs. If they sweet talk him the right way they can have him at whatever price they agree to. If in a year it's clear that he was vastly overpaid (see KMart, Boozer etc...), he'll be close to untradable

Here's to hoping that Al continues to perform at the same level then! It's definitely a scary thought in regards to Kmart and Boozer because of their injuries and what could be a bad injury waiting to happen with Al, but hey. The cards we've been dealt is that Al wasn't moved before this year's deadline so I'm hoping (and think there's a good chance) that we can unload him while he's still got enough value to bring another piece to the team.
