It's just hard to let this one die.

27th in the league in PPG. Above Baron Davis, Above Sam Cassell, Above Marbury.

5th in the league in assists. Tied with Tinsley, above Andre Miller, Steve Francis and Steve Nash.

26th in assists per turnover. This doesn't particular stand out unless you consider that just two games ago, he wasn't even in the top 50. His turnovers are dropping and getting back to the level he performed at last season.

You look at his stats and it's funny that people talk of trading him. You aren't going to get anyone who is better than him. Travis Best? Brent Barry? HAHA

1. That the Hawks do have some questions about Jason's long term development at the point.

2. If the right trade came along (i.e. for Baron Davis, Andre Miller), the Hawks would entertain trading Jason.

3. The Hawks only waited to sign a long term deal with JT because:

A. They, and Jason, both want a seven year deal, which would have to wait until this offseason.

B. The Hawks bill paying folk would like to see this team win before they fork over the dough.

C. They want to make sure that Jason can continue his growth at the point before making a long term committment.

No question, if they were going to trade JT, now is the time, because of his contract status, etc....BUT, they are not Trying to do so, and have made it plain that it would take another young, premiere PG to make it happen (read: No Jason "Bad Pass" Williams).

Babcock's efforts are more concentrated on finding a qualified backup for JT...The fact that they tried Matt Maloney even though he hadn't played in well over a year indicates that they are desperate for help in that area.

The turnovers are a problem, but they are hardly Terry's alone....
