I was thinking maybe Al + Lue to the Lakers, because the Lakers had such a strong interest in Lue.

Definately a possibility. It is just such a relief to now have OPTIONS. We now have a team that is two deep at almost every position (except maybe center). Like others have said, we can now trade Al for the best deal and not just for what we lack.

I think we would have to take one of their long expensive contracts to make the trade work. Maybe Murphy?

We CANNOT take a big contract of a forward of all positions. We are loaded at forward with the Joshes, Shelden and Marvin. We have to find a way to move Al and get something of value back but not equal salary. Hence a team with cap room or a 3-way involving a team with cap room.

We could do a three way, that is true. But we will still have to take on salary somewhere.
