The players, the front office, the fans should feel alright in that Lon had his opportunity here. There should be no hard feelings from the players in that the front office didn't support the coach enough (and thereby won't support them). Now the responsibility falls more on the players...are they ready for the weight of their own playoff guarantee after they saw what it cost Lon?

At least it's "Happy New Year, you're fired, Lon" instead of "Merry Christmas..."
