The Sleepwalk section

Gray Mule

Recommended Posts

Every game.

Without fail.

A portion of the game, Hawks simply go to sleep.

The rest of the game - Fine, if you eliminate this

one section, usually in the 3rd qtr.

Last night, it happened to open the game. Hawks score

two points, then give up 12. With 8 minutes to go in

the first, it's 12-2 {Thats a 10 point lead}

Final score is 101-94 {That's 7 points}

By the time Hawks woke from their famious sleepwalk

portion of the game, it was all over. We just didn't

expect it to happen so soon.

Eliminate this 10 points and we win by three. Strange

how this always happens, isn't it. Hawks never seem

to loose by being outscored 2 or 3 points in each

quarter. It all happens while they sleepwalk.

Someone please wake them up!!

GrayMule,

What woke them out of their slumber was JTs altercation with Kenyon Martin. (by the way... K-Mart? What a horrible nickname... it makes me think the guy is bankrupt or living on foodstamps)

It made us check our pride. We were getting shelled... then all of a sudden, we realized that we look like schmucks. We played with fire and intensity.

That needs to come EVERY game. If that means we have to have a designated roster slot to some ignorant baboon who insults us to the point of anger... then so be it. We need to play with that fire from tip off.

They couldn't even get the ball across the half-court line. It was great. We hustled for boards. We looked like a team playing game 7 of a playoff's game -- on the verge of extinction.

Play.

JayWalker,

I am telling you... I know Shareef... first hand. This is a guy that needs people pushing at him at times.

He gets laxadazical if you don't.

If you don't involve him... off he goes... if you let him, he might lie down at mid court.

But, when he is involved on the offensive end... he'll pick up more rebounds, play better defense, etc. The same goes with pushing him.

Stotts keeps yelling at Terry, but he needs to yell at Reef. Reef would get POed and go out there and try. It is his nature.

As for the rest of the team, I don't know what motivates them. But, obviously Terry did not like getting pushed TWICE by Martin, because he led the charge back into the game right after that double push. I think Big Dog might be unmotivatable. He is a lard, who really seems incapable of being much more.

Play.

Play.

Must have been a good 1st half {I was at church and

missed it} but we sure were not awake to begin the

third quarter.

I come in with a tie at halftime with the best N.B.A.

team. Then, we start the 3rd and only one team shows

up for the beginning! WHY? WHY?? WHY???

Why must we ALWAYS have this happen, every game,

time after time? Can't we have some games where we

compete the entire game? PLEASE!!

This habit is getting so flustrating. It helps us to

continue our loosing streak, which I hate.
