TheDude
Here's his response to my email about the status of the team: -The state of our team is extremely disappointing as we are dramatically underachieving. We are aggressively exploring all trade options to add ballhandling, defensive toughness and continued talent improvement...time will tell. We are NOT shopping JT and would prefer to keep him for the long term if we can. Thank you for your thoughts and comments. Pete Babcock- hmmm, wonder what's going to happen.. swolehawk2
Sounds like Babs is looking for a Big guard who can handle and play D at the expense of 1 or 2 of our big men.
Guest
We are talkin Aaron Mckie!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't forget about Alvin Williams either. It also looks like Pete is going to keep this core intact no matter if we like it or not. That is unless Theo is being shopped.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 11, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 11, 2003 How about this: Atlanta trades: SF Glenn Robinson (20.5 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 3.0 apg in 37.5 minutes) C Nazr Mohammed (3.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 0.1 apg in 10.9 minutes) Atlanta receives: C Derrick Coleman (8.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.8 apg in 21.9 minutes) SF Aaron McKie (9.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.9 apg in 31.9 minutes) Change in team outlook: -6.7 ppg, 0.0 rpg, and +1.6 apg. Philadelphia trades: C Derrick Coleman (8.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.8 apg in 21.9 minutes) SF Aaron McKie (9.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.9 apg in 31.9 minutes) Philadelphia receives: SF Glenn Robinson (20.5 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 3.0 apg in 33 games) C Nazr Mohammed (3.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 0.1 apg in 11 games) Change in team outlook: +6.7 ppg, 0.0 rpg, and -1.6 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Of course, McKie may need surgery for his bone spurs, but it sets us up nicely for next year when Coleman is gone.
Guest
If we plan on dumping the rest of the year then trade for Coleman...but otherwise don't bring him here.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 11, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 11, 2003 Yeah, that was the intention of this trade...We wouldn't make it unless we knew that the season was a waste...It's something to keep in mind if Babcock really wants to keep JT on the roster. Playmaker0017
MrHOnline, Go ahead and cross Stotts off your "Most Improved Coach of the Year" ballots for next year. My bet is, he is out of here. We are going to go after someone glamorous. Someone with a history. At least I hope. Play.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 11, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 11, 2003 Glamorous & history...I sure hope so...Dominque would fill the first part of that...
Gray Mule
Hawks don't have their full # of coaches. Who will the team add to what we have now -- Any ideas??? Oh yeah, Hawks finally break the streak.
TheDude
can we please NOT trade for injured garbage? derrick coleman? come on guys we can do better than that can't we..i mean it's glenn robinson..
Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 11, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 11, 2003 Injured garbage that would be gone at the end of the year leaving more $ to resign JT...and no one would ever make that trade unless the Hawks were well out of playoff contention near the trade deadline...It's a "free up cap space" for next year...
