Premium Member Diesel Posted February 18, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 18, 2003 First... The particulars. Here's why they'll do it. http://www.oaklandtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,82%257E10835%257E1187318,00.html No love between Damp and Musselman. ALways good reason for a trade. Also, Fortson is praying for a way out of GS. Last season he was #4 in rebounding. For Portland, they get better Big Men. Their main concern is Shaq, Duncan, and Webber. For us, we get Anderson to help with Ball handling. We also get not My vidas.. Not your vidas, but Arvydas. Atlanta trades: C Theo Ratliff (8.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 30.0 minutes) PF Chris Crawford (4.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.2 apg in 7.6 minutes) Atlanta receives: C Arvydas Sabonis (5.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.7 apg in 15.7 minutes) SG Derek Anderson (14.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 4.4 apg in 34.4 minutes) Change in team outlook: +7.9 ppg, -0.8 rpg, and +5.2 apg. Golden State trades: C Erick Dampier (8.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 0.8 apg in 24.7 minutes) PF Danny Fortson (3.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 12.5 minutes) Golden State receives: C Theo Ratliff (8.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 51 games) PF Chris Crawford (4.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.2 apg in 5 games) Change in team outlook: +1.4 ppg, -2.6 rpg, and -0.6 apg. Portland trades: C Arvydas Sabonis (5.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.7 apg in 15.7 minutes) SG Derek Anderson (14.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 4.4 apg in 34.4 minutes) Portland receives: C Erick Dampier (8.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 0.8 apg in 51 games) PF Danny Fortson (3.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 16 games) Change in team outlook: -9.3 ppg, +3.4 rpg, and -4.6 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Atlanta, Golden State, and Portland being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta, Golden State, and Portland had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You have been assigned Trade ID number 953415 There's also another way of doing this that involves the same deal, but us sending Glover to PTL and instead of Vydas, us getting Toughman Dale Davis back! Premium Member Diesel Posted February 18, 2003 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted February 18, 2003 The Hawks lineup would be: JT/Anderson/GROB/SAR/Nazr... Not bad. Also consider that Anderson provides offense and ball handling from the 2. We'd be in very good company.

dj_me
If this trade were to happen, I would more than likely become a Warrior fan. Oh, I'll still route for Atlanta, but Golden State would have all the pieces to the puzzle. I'd rather get Fortson than Sabonis. Or does Fortson have a huge contract? I really can't say much about Anderson. I only hear about him through you.

beav
Let me get this straight... Portland trades two starters that are playing well right now for danny fortson (who GS has not been able to find any takers for his bad contract for over a year) and bobby sura a decent bench player! and dampier? Next!
