The Line Of Thinking on this board is laughable!!!

You guys want all star players at every position and that is not possible nor is it going to happen. We can get by with an average pg. Everybody won't be an allstar or first team. Look how long it took Sam Cassell to get into the allstar game when he has arguably been one of the top pgs in the league before he started to decline. You guys need to get real. We need people who are going to be effective at their position. There is nothing wrong with being a good ball player. JJ barely made it to the allstar game but his numbers were comparable to Lebron, Carter, Kobe etc. Does that make him average? Thhe debte on here on who will be an allstar or who won't is stupid.

I agree. Putting 'positions' aside, I think these are some skills that our team needs:

1. Go-to player in the post - Yi, Gasol, Horford would help

2. Distributor / Penetrator / Tempo Controller - From what is said about Conley, he would certainly help here. Also, whomever fills this position must be adequate on Defense.

3. Defense rebounding / 'Muscle' up front - We need a little intimidation down low. Smith is intimidating as a shot-blocker but not as much as a guy you don't want to body up with - This will be the hardest position to fill without reaching or giving up too much.

If we can get #1 and #3 established with one player, GREAT! If we could get #2 with the other pick or trade, GREAT! I don't know much about Law outside of being a very clutch, experienced player. Can he be a full time PG? Can we fill these 3 needs with only the two lottery picks or can we fill the 3 needs with the #3/#11 and maybe either Chill or Zaza?

I agree. It's getting hard to read some of this stuff. Either I'm getting smarter or the collective intelligence of this board is getting lower.

...better than JS or JJ. Our top 2 players are statistically less than all the top 10 teams top 2 players and half the middle 10 teams' top 2 players. So, without upgrading our top talent we can expect NO BETTER THAN 15th place.

Certainly we have to fill positional needs. That just goes to show you the hole BK dug for us, threw us in, and started shoveling over. The rebuild is not dead...YET but we can't escape being buried alive in mediocrity without a star talent > JJ or JS. Just won't happen.

Oh, and it WAS very possible. Imagine JS, Deng..maybe Iggy, Deron/Paul, Roy and JJ. That's an all-star or future one at every position but center. None will be perinnial, but they should all get there once or more.
