Brand Ruptures Achilles Tendon

Los Angeles Clippers ' forward Elton Brand ruptured his left Achilles tendon today during his regular daily workout at Spectrum Club South Bay.

Plans for Brand to undergo surgery to repair the injury are underway, the details of which will be made available by the team as soon as they are finalized. [READ]

seriously though, truly sad to see. brand is one of the most underrated, underappreciated pf's to ever play. he's a tireless worker who hasn't caused any trouble during his career. if only the media highlighted great players with strong characters like brand, maybe the nba wouldn't have such a tarnished image...

i think we'll see Al Thornton get more playing time as this season is a wash for them now. That sucks to know your season is over before training camp even starts.
