Lon Kruger to become assistant with Knicks?

n keeping with what we have said since his departure from the Hawks, Lon Kruger has accepted an assistant's spot with the Knicks, according to one of my friends from the Hawks games...

Kruger had said to "The Hawks Show"'s Bill Shanks, especially in light of the Georgia opening (since filled by Felton), that he would rather come back as an assistant in the NBA than to get a head job in college.

He was tired of recruiting and had become accustomed to the posh life of the NBA..."

I don't wish any ill will on the guy. It's good to see him move on with his career, and to get such a good position.

Of course, they'll probably fire the entire coaching staff after the Knicks miss the playoffs again. But, Layden will still be there somehow.

If Tim Floyd can get another HEAD coaching opportunity w/ a solid team, I don't see why Krugs can't get an assistant spot w/ NY. That is good for him and I hope he does get another chance somewhere. Just not here...

Where ever he goes, good luck because he was a great guy and a coach that just needs to develope. He needs space and I think being an assistant will keep him aware that he needs to work harder to become a head coach again.
