Starting 5 for the Hawks:

PG:Jason Terry

SG:Stephen Jackson

SF:Boris Diaw

PF:Shareef Abdur Rahim

C: Theo Ratliff

Bench: pg Dan Dickau,SG Travis Hansen, SFChris Crawford PF Alan Henderson C Nazr Mohammed PG Darrall Armstrong SG/SF Dermarr Johnson.

personally I think we need to make one more small move and get rid of ChrisCrawford even if we have to package him with Nazr Mohammed, although Mohammed was solid when healthy.

I would. I think Stephen Jackson is a little underrated. He is a really great slasher and a good passer, and while his shot and dribble are streaky, he is very young. Plus he has championship experience which helps no matter how much you contributed. You understand the attitude and you've experienced success. We would have decent height with that lineup too. Jax is no allstar, but Id be satisfied

I would love to deal CC too, with Nazr is fine. I think Nazr's flaws outweigh his talent and he should be dealt while his value is still high. I'm not sure for who. I get the feeling he will be gone by the beginning of the regular season.

all things considered, yes. though I'd rather bring in a three point specialist to come in off the bench rather than sign an aging armstrong who, while capable of providing some, some, guidance ot JT and DD on pging, would really only take pt from them, particularly DD.

If we're going to have DD on our roster for the next two years min., and we are, then we might as well try and play him, not hinder him, and see what he can do.

If anything we need to showcase DD. If he's not in Knight's (or whoever is the GM's) future plans, then we need to at least get him more clock and showcase his talents like Phoenix did with Nash back in '98. Personally, I'd like to keep DD long term, but i don't see how he and a re-signed JT would work as a starting backcourt. Teams would eat us up, especially on the defensive end. If he has a solid start to the season, I would entertain trading him for some frontcourt help. Like I said, I'd love to keep Dickau, but I just cannot see him and JT as our backcourt; assuming DD develops into starter material...

I'd be happy with that lineup espically since we have Darrell Armstrong on our bench. And also signing Jackson as a F.A., I'm not sure what type of money he is asking for but he would be a good pick-up. And we have Dermarr Johnson back which is a good thing. I can't figure out if he as already signed with the Grizz or not. I would love to have him back though. Yea I agree that if we could get rid of Crawford it would be a plus. He's not a horrible player when healthy, but he seems to be always hurt and his contract is to much. Any way we could get rid of Henderson as well? Anyway I wouldn't be dissapointed in that lineup for next year. I guess thats pretty good for not having a team owner and what not.

I'm not that comfortable with Jackson. I know that the Hawks are rebuilding and I understand if they want to give him a shot and see if his game develops a bit, but I'd just as soon go with Eric Piatkowski who while is not a great defender is a deadly (and much more consistent) shooter.

If we could get Piatkowski for a good price I'd be happy.

The other SG's would probably not be as good of a choice as Jackson since they are older (Barry, Lucious Harris, Reggie Miller etc).

Piatkowski signed a 3-year deal with the Rockets today, so that's out the window.

I'd like to see Jackson in a Hawks' uni next year. He does remind me of Glover. A streaky player, but I think Jackson still has a higher upside. Wasn't there a game either in the WCF or the Finals when Jackson hit 4 threes to bury the opponent? I always think picking up players with winning experience is a good thing.

I'd also like to see us explore trade options with Nazr and Crawford. There's gotta be somebody out there that will give up an ending contract, young player, or draft pick for a young big man like Nazr.

We do need a shooter. Pike would have been my first choice. I've thought beforehand that Lucious Harris wouldn't have been a bad choice to sign as our starting SG. He can handle the ball, shoot it from deep, and play D. When the Nets went to their 2nd unit, he carried that team.
