How MEMPHIS affects us!

1)they're not going to sign DJohnson.

They got Person/Posey/Dickerson/Jones/Miller/Battier/Owens playing SG and SF. In other words, theres no room for DJ.

2)just w/ Pgs + Sgs + Centers they got 12 players. They have too many and we 8 under contract (Dickau/Hansen/Diaw/Crawford/Henderson/Abdur-Rahim/Ratliff/Mohammed). Sign JT and thats 9. We would welcome DION and DJ and if so, thats 11. I wish Ira could be back but thats too late for that.

That being said, we still need 1 more player (at LEAST- assuming my other assumptions are correct and we sign our exhawks). A 2 for 3 would work without too much trouble (im sure Memphis doesnt plan on going into the season with 17 players under contract.

I have stated several times that I am a big fan of Battier.

When I would bring up the idea of trading for him here,

I woulod be reminded that he was too much like our

recently departed Neuble. { I like Neuble }

Now that Neuble is gone to Cleveland, this, in my weak

mind, at least, opens up the possibility of us getting

Battier here in a Hawks uniform. That would go a long

way to making the total loss of Neuble a little easier.

i also am a huge fan of Battier(although he went to my acc nemisis, Duke).. he plays strong defense, smart player(his head looks like a brain), and he has sufficient offense..

heck, if we could trade for him, i'd be pretty happy.. start him at sf..
