Guest
I decided to look up all the centers that out produced Theo Ratliff.... Big Z Brad Miller Yao Ming Shaq David Robinson Michael Kandi Ben Wallace Lorenzen Wright Those guys were better than Theo Ratliff last year in m opinion. Looking at that list, you can say Theo is a top 12 center.... But that doesn't mean alot seeing how weak the east is. I say we trade the overrated Theo for two good players. He's a overvalued player and with the team we have we'd be better off to trade him for two solid players that are alittle younger. Would you guys trade Theo Ratliff/Dan Dickau/2nd rounder for Scot Pollard/Al Harrington/Anthony Johnson? PG:Jason Terry/Anthony Johnson SG:Stephen Jackson/Glover/Hansen SF:Al Harrington/Diaw/DJ PF:Shareef/Hendu/Pollard C:Nazr Mohammad/Scot Pollard PG:Jamall Tinsley/Dan Dickau SG:Reggie Miller/Fred Jones/English SF:Ron Artest/John Bender/Croshere PF:J.O'Neal/Croshere/Jeff Foster C: Theo Ratliff/Foster Alright, The Pacers have English/Artest/Croshere/Bender/ Jones all at the SG/SG spot....Something has to give. If Bender has the talent he needs to play this season..Also, they need time for Austin Croshere.... Theo gets on a team with better defensive pieces in O'Neal and Artest....Since O'Neal is an 11RPG player, Theo's lack of rebounding will not look as bad...And They get a vet to go in the their lineup. They also get Dan Dickau just in case Tinsley isn't their future. We get a good shot blocking and rebound PF?C that will play his role and we get a young SF/PF that is young and improving. Anthony Johnson provides us with a backup vet PG...We sign Jackson and resign Glover and DJ and there you go.
Traceman
If the Pacers weren't in our division it wouldn't be so bad but bad MAN, I'd hate to see us try to score against that front line. We might lose 100 to 50!
Guest
Well, Indy is better than the Hawks anyway...so why not improve? People overrate Theo as a defensive player....There is nothing impressive about weakside shot blockers....And that is what Theo Ratliff is....He will not be as badly exposed though and it's a better fit than it is here. Sure Indy losses Harrington, but Bender needs to play and grow up very soon. If they feel he has a good future they might just pull the trigger. We'd have to wait until Late September to make the trade though since Pollard was just traded a short time ago. Theo will be 31 years old soon....It's stupid to keep him. DJ_Money
I don't think the Pacers would trade Harrington for Theo. Even though he will still come off the bench, they know he has huge talent. We should know, too. I think trading JT would be the only way to get Harrington, and I'm 50/50 on that one. I'll agree that Theo has to be traded. I'm not going to get into whether he is overrated or not, but he is not going to be a part of the future of this team. He's simply too old. JT, Shareef, and Diaw should be the future of this team. Now, if we can trade Theo for one more piece... How about Theo/Dickau to Phoenix for Joe Johnson/Bo Outlaw/Jake Tsakalidis? Phoenix would be impossible to score on inside. Theo/Stoudamire/Marion/Penny/Marbury is a squad that would block shots and run it back up the floor. I do this trade for Joe Johnson. 6'8" SG who can handle the ball, score, and play D. We don't lose any of our 2005 cap space by taking on Outlaw and Big Jake. So, we go into this season with JT/Johnson/Diaw/SAR/Nazr. Not good enough to make the playoffs, but imagine this team if we can get our hands on Okafor or Podkolzine.
