Negotiations go on forever. Finally, there is to be an

announcement of the sale TUESDAY.

Then, we find out. The new owner is not the one who

has been fighting all summer to buy the deal.

McDavid must feel like the potential groom who is engaged

to his dream gal, expecting to wed her tomorrow, only to

find out that indeed, she is getting married on the 16 th.

but he is not who she is taking for a mate.

I guess most of us had developed somewhat of a distrust

of the ownership because of the doubt cast by the deal

dragging on and on and on. Still, you have to feel

somewhat sorry for the jilted lover.

The new owners apparently have the cash on hand to

handle the deal. Sign the papers. Write the check.

It's over with. We have new owners.

After all the wheeling and dealing over the summer, the

end comes quickly and easily. Diesel, again you are

proved right. Money talks.
