Nick Markakis to the Braves 4Yrs/$44 Million

Well, we ended up signing Alberto Callaspo instead so ... there's that.  Ugh.  Is this what tanking looks like in baseball?

 

I hope the Braves aren't tanking as you don't go out and sign Markakis if you're tanking. You watch he'll end up being a fan favorite, assuming he can stay healthy.

Braves are caught in that situation similar to the Hawks. They are not bad enough to tank but they are not good enough to win a championship. In other word they are your typical Atl sports team.

Callaspo will be a stop-gap for Jose Peraza. If we didn't have Peraza waiting in the minors, I'm sure as hell that Hart wouldn't settle for him being our starting second baseman.
