Oh So Sad --- Dampier Bad Mouthing Hawks

See Hoopsworld article stating that Dampier said the Hawks were just not a winning situation.

You know your team has a bad reputation when a when a very average player like Dampier who plays for the lowly Warriors will not even consider the Hawks with MAXIMUM SALARY (not NBA max but for him the most money he will ever see) and Antoine and Harrington as his front court mates. While he may be the best player left he is not worth the headache --- his effort was questioned with Golden State so what is he going to do if the Hawks are struggling. Not that Dampier playing to his potential would not be a vast improvement --- but he is avoiding the Hawks like the worst place in the NBA (???? I think we have the Clippers and Warriors beat --- I said think. It is a bitter/sweet proposition if Dampier comes I think Dampier, Harrington and Walker would be a very solid frontcourt with playoff potential ---- however a player that is avoiding you the way he is --- do you really want to beg for a disaster

Which article is Damp bad mouthing the Hawks? Is it something new, I remember reading something awhile back with him saying that the Hawks were in rebuilding mode, but it didn't come off as he was bad mouthing our team. If its new I hope BK will finally wakeup and sign Pryz. I would rather have a motivated Pryz playing, than an underacheiving, unmotivated and potential problem child like Damp.Pryz,Collier and Walker to play the pivot, should get us through this year and allow more time on the floor for JSmooth.

Some sports writers love to twist things around and make

it sound like THEY want it to sound.

Remember, it was recently reported that the Hawks were in

complete disarray. The Hawks G.M. couldn't do anything

without the complete approval of all the owners of the

team and the owners couldn't agree on anything.

This was proven to be completely false. Hawks have no

such problem.

Some people, and sports writers are notorious for this,

love to stir things up. And some of the things they

stir! It's like manure, the more you stir, the worse

it smells.

"He said - - - " Really? No, but that's what he meant.

Another thing. Some G.M. from another team just might

want to get Atlanta so P.O.ed that he would prime the

pump, trying to get the Hawks to leave Damp alone. Or,

it could be his agent, saying, very confidentially to

the writer, "Don't quote me on this but - - - "

If Damp really said these things, if he truly don't want

to sign with the Hawks, no one is forcing him to do it.

If he doesn't want to be here, then we don't want to even

think about signing him.

When we hear it directly from him, we can believe. Until

then, consider where the word came from, and why.

Thank goodness for our own personal writer here. We

don't have any of that crap from him.

Jaywalker 72. That's our guy. When he tells us something,

you can count on it.

He doesn't twist the facts. He tells it like it is.

He may give his opinion, but he doesn't make believe it is

something it isn't.
