Eddy Curry has agreed to undergo a physical examination by Atlanta Hawks doctors Thursday during his first free-agent stop, a source familiar with the planned visit said Monday.

The Bulls' center could not be reached for comment, but the source said after initially refusing an exam, Curry's representatives have relented.

Curry's health could be a sticking point as he tries to establish his market value. He has an irregular heartbeat and was sidelined for three months while undergoing numerous tests.

A specialist recently cleared him to resume training, and Curry began working out with trainer Tim Grover last week. Curry has said he hasn't had any complications.

The Hawks also are interested in the Bulls' Tyson Chandler, who might head to Atlanta for a visit later this week. If the Hawks' pursuit of Curry fizzles, Chandler could become a hot prospect for Atlanta.

Bulls general manager John Paxson has said the Bulls plan to match the highest offer Curry and Chandler receive. Both are restricted free agents.

But Curry's heart condition raises complex contract issues, and the Bulls are weighing insurance options, as will any team that makes him an offer. Free agents can begin signing contracts July 22.

After hearing that Ranolph Morris is going back to Kentucky it is good to hear that we are in a very good position to aquire eddy curry.

If we do I can finally say I'm a Hawk's fan in public. Something no one has to be able to do outside of Phillips Arena.

people laugh when i tell them to look out for the Hawks in a couple of years..but they merely see a record and don't know what kind of players we're getting in...good time to be a fan.

People definetly laugh when I tell them I am a hawks fan. I can honestly say that I have not met another Hawk fan in my area. I can't wait when the glory days are back.

Hey I live in upstate NY, and coach High School B-Ball. When my players ask me who my favorite team is and I say the Hawks, they either laugh or look at me and say "who?" But I just say give it a few years and you won't laugh at me then. Lets hope I don't eat crow.
