  1. On another note, Austin Daye was extremely unimpressive in garbage time. Looked very slow, very lost and missed a couple of guarded shots instead of moving the ball around.
  2. Third straight game (Spurs, Thunder, Warriors) where the other team's announcers are commenting on how their team is playing the best game of their season. I'd love to watch a Hawks game again where I was even mildly confident they could get a stop. Hate to say it, but Thabo does not account for 20 fewer points on the defensive end..
  3. Golden State with 39 assists on 44 made shots - that is a ridiculous ratio. This was about as good as they can play - in the happy event that we play in the Finals against them, home court advantage would be critical to have. Very hard to envision stealing a game there in front of that crowd.
  4. Incredible game by Dennis.. was not hard to see that him and Al were, talent-wise, a level or two above everyone else on the court. With Al scheduled to sit tomorrow, I'm afraid to see what DeMarcus Cousins will do to Pero.
  5. Also, if Kyle Korver makes his next FG attempt, he is officially back in the 50/50/90 club. FG: 49.9% (255/511) 3P: 50.4% (192/381) FT: 90.2% (92/102)
  6. Last night felt like a GREAT win, maybe top 5 win of our season so far. I credit Dennis for the win for taking over the game for about 10 really critical minutes late in the third and into the fourth. 11/4/6 with 2 steals in 23 minutes. Suns announcers were very complimentary of our team, and Kyle and Dennis in particular. By the way, the return on investment we are getting on our 2 yr/$4 million contract with Kent Bazemore is absurd.
  7. If there's another silver lining to the game, the Nuggets winning gained them a game on Brooklyn (who also lost tonight).
  8. Wasn't able to catch the whole game - what did Dennis do? Hopefully not on the level of his previous incident with Cousins..
  9. So far, Korver's out.. I'd guess at least Millsap will sit, too.
  10. It's an interesting display of denial to read the comments (like on this article) from Cavs fans around the internet - (paraphrased) 'The Hawks have won the last three games against us, but... I just can't see them competing with us in a seven game series'. LeBron is human and his body won't be as strong at the end of a season now as it was 5 years ago. He is only 30 but he has already played more career minutes than Magic and Larry Bird!
  11. I would even argue that he could be a candidate for most improved, but his year-over-year stats improvement doesn't pop out at you because he's still coming off the bench. He could probably average 18-10 for a team like the Sixers. It's unbelievable how much his jumpshot improved in just one off-season: Jumpshots: 2013-2014: 26/96 (27%) 2014-2015: 82/219 (37.4%) 10% improvement and what will end up being about 2.5x the volume!
  12. Thankfully, unlike this Schwarz guy, Coach Bud recognized that the birth of your child is more important than a basketball game when he gave Al last weekend off to be with his son.
  13. How come the tool won't let me choose Dan Dickau, Salim Stoudamire, Isaiah Rider and Rasheed Wallace for my Mt. Hawkmore?
  14. It's not clear how much in return the Jazz would be asking for, but Enes Kanter just demanded a trade last night. Near 7-footer whose rebound % is higher than anyone on the Hawks: http://www.sltrib.com/sports/2170975-155/utah-jazz-frustrated-enes-katner-said
  15. Assuming you're talking about this sequence, here you go! (Keep your eye on Dennis and how he keeps on running)
  16. I think it's quite the opposite! http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=onion&defid=2310
  17. Gee - it's so surprising that the team that gives every opponent it plays a loss has played a schedule where their opponents have a lot of losses. What a tiring narrative. And I wonder why the Lakers have the best strength of schedule..
  18. Believe it or not, neither Love nor Kyrie have even MADE the playoffs in their 9 combined seasons so far. No telling how they'll perform in their first ever playoffs.
  19. Anybody remember the playoff guarantee where the Hawks had to pay season ticket holders money back because they missed the playoffs? I'd take one of those offers this year..
  20. I agree - look across the league at all five of the early afternoon games. All ugly, brutal, out of sync games. Everyone is out of rhythm. Great crowd for a Monday afternoon game and perfect time for an extended homestand! Let the excitement build on itself in front of the fans as this team's win streak grows to 13.. 14.. 15
  21. Looks like this discussion might be moot - Danny Ainge will probably be looking to trade him near the deadline instead of waiving him.
  22. I'm voting no - in this scenario, he's essentially taking minutes away from Mike Scott. Mike Scott is younger, quicker, stronger, familiar with what Coach Bud expects, and believe it or not, comparable to Tayshaun by some advanced defensive metrics. I'd rather keep developing Mike Scott than use up cap space to bring in a new guy whose ceiling is barely higher than what Mike Scott is already giving us. We've been lucky health-wise so far this year, so maybe if the injury bug strikes... Regardless, how nice is it that Atlanta is going to start becoming a legitimate FA destination for proven veterans looking for a last championship run? It NEVER used to be like that. I remember a few years ago we were going after Shaq heavy and he never gave us serious consideration.
  23. Maybe Coach Bud pulled a "DNP - Old" like Pop used to? Regardless, it was a good opportunity to get Elton some minutes for the first time in a week.
  24. Hate to nitpick, but why did Korver even pass him the ball in that situation? Play was designed to get Kyle the ball, and then he immediately gave it up.
