  1. thank you everyone for the prayers. trying to take it easy. the tooth pain was not fun from the broken tooth and the slight cracking of the upper jaw to remove it has been....fun. Yes, that is the non profanity laced way to describe it.
  2. Mrs. Sothron here: Mr. Sothron had a broken tooth that had to be extracted. He's having a reaction to the medication they gave him. The oral surgeon had to crack his upper jaw to get the tooth out. He's in pain and resting. If he's not active for a few days please understand. He said to give hugs to all of you. -Mrs. S
  3. We want the pick this year rather than hope Sac can make the playoffs next year. This draft does not have the high value guys that are no brainers at the top three. True. It also has decent to good value at least through the first 20 picks. We should want to get a wing and a center with our picks.
  4. The more tape of Edey I watch the more I like the kid. Supes is right, there's honestly no one outside Yao that you can compare him to. He's not Big Country (who ppl forget before his injuries he was a good NBA center) that needed a lot of low post ups in order to generate offense. Edey moves around in the post and finds little spots on the floor for a quick post up or a hook. His touch around the rim is elite. He is much better on defense than people give him credit for. We have two first round picks or should in this draft. I hope we take Edey. Use the other pick on a wing defender.
  5. It might be in Bey's interest to take the QO if the Hawks extend it and hope for a better FA next offseason. I personally don't want Bey on this team but he plays hard. This injury so late in the season makes his playing at all next season in danger. I feel for him. I hope he has a full and speedy recovery.
  6. I am so grateful that Tony Ressler allowed the FO to use the TPE and MLE to address forward depth before the season and during the season before the trade deadline.
  7. This is a valid concern. However, drop coverage is going to let him stay in the paint.

Trust me, I'm hurting. If he can get healthy for the playoffs the Twolves have a chance of doing some real damage.
  9. My personal favorite gripe about him as an ex college point guard is his insistence on pocket passes to everyone. There are too many times when he should lob, bounce pass or fastball it but he just insists on that pocket pass. If we make the playin and Trae is still out I expect coaches to pick up on that.
  10. I've been a fan of Edey and watching him beat Mrs. Sothron's school was, um, interesting. She hates all of the Fighting Illini rivals so it was complicated to watch that game, cheer for the Illini and yet still really dig how great Edey is.
  11. Did you miss the next part of my post you left out that completely counters what you just posted? I think the general feeling among all of us here is the ECF run was the worst thing that could happen because it locked us into this core and Ressler being cheap af meant no growth beyond it.
  12. I agree with all of this except the last part. We were a healthy Trae away from going to the Finals and winning it. Two wins away actually. But I don't have any faith, at all, in Tony Ressler and his penny pinching ways despite being rich as hell. A complete rebuild around Jalen is what I would do at this point but I can't see Tony moving off his golden goose.
  13. Capela's decline at that money is killing us. Hunter to his credit is having his best season as a pro. We need to move Capela something awful in the offseason.
  14. I hope this kills the "we're better off without Trae!" complete nonsense we were seeing.
  15. Our shot diet went from almost dead last in the NBA to the 4th best in the NBA this season. Trae is playing the best defense of his life under Quin. It isn't the coach's fault the owner is a POS cheap ass that won't pay for a real NBA roster.
  16. This has to be a record. only two pages after a loss. I guess the blind Trae hate has no where to turn after this crap fest of a game tonight.
  17. Signing a two way big is the most realistic thing at this point.
  18. None of those are really bigs except for Moose. Let's be honest, giving Trent a full contract is both cheap and expected from the FO. Quin loved him in Utah and he loves him here.
  19. What big is out there that we could have signed instead of Trent? Capela is back, Bruno is showing he's worth playing and when OO gets back we're back to a 3 center rotation if need be.
  20. We need POA defense and backup PG minutes. Trent is both of those. I don't know why anyone would be against it.
  21. Is it safe to unblock the guy that spent two years telling us tanking was evil and derailed every single thread to talk about it?
  22. He wasn't the only one. Go back to the draft threads. I was very happy with that pick. He's a left handed version of DJM pre ACL tear. The way Kobe is a POA defender is how DJM played for the SAS when he got that All Defense team nod.
  23. Drop coverage should be our primary defense. With the team being DOA this season I've been watching more college bball. This draft is not as weak as people think it is. It lacks the one or two WOW! prospects you get in most drafts but there's real talent in this draft.
