    Two updates while I can, one hawks other is personal: Personal: both Mrs. Sothron and myself have a real nasty bout of the flu. We took our flu shots back in October so hopefully it helps. If I'm not around as much this is why. Hawks: It is looking like the team is going to wait until the offseason for trades. Bey is the name to watch to move before the deadline. Quin's statement about keeping DJ and building around him and Trae is legit and not just a FO tactic to improve his trade value.

    The lakers interest in DJ is very real. they just don't have a trade package good enough to get him. I'm praying the Hawks are doing what @NBASupes is hearing and going into shut down mode except for Bey for trade offers until the offseason. Much easier to make trades then.

    Finally some push back put into the media about the Hawks wanting to keep DJ. All it does is give us more hand in trade discussions regardless if it is true or not.

    Hope this is what is going on. I would much rather wait until the offseason to swing for targets like KAT than take poo poo deals like the Lakers are offering.

    Dj runs the 2nd team unit a lot or they switch things up. They practice more ball movement and guys coming off screens to get open shots (like Trae). It isn't really translating to being done in the actual games as much as the players want. before someone asks the logical next question...I do not know why this is happening. I know Quin wants a major roster overhaul and the FO has come around to his way of thinking over the course of the season. I don't believe in coaches making statements to a FO through games or practices or how he handles players. I don't know if that is what this relates to but it makes me wonder.

    We had so much hope to start the season but now....yeah. God I just realized that applies to both teams but I meant it for GT.

    I would honestly keep him a healthy scratch if he's going the Vince Carter route. We can't risk him getting hurt before we trade him. Losing games this season only increases the value of our lottery pick in the draft.

    I already made that trade, I did the trade you proposed a couple weeks back that sent Capela to the Mavs as well in my NBA 2k current era franchise for the Hawks. Trae and KAT are insane together. I just hope we can make it happen IRL.

    I can confirm that's a real DM from DJM. I believe he and Klutch are now starting the "Vince Carter" plan to force the Hawks to trade him.

    I do find it funny that Trae had 30/11/3 steals and was +9 in the game...and people are still shitting on him. And not Ressler who won't pay for a team to put around Trae or a good team for Quin to coach.

    It is getting a little hard to read the game day threads because certain posters are so clearly enjoying the Hawks losing games. I don't want to give the mods extra work by going down that route but you know who you are. Blame Ressler for the mess we are in. Traded two starters in back to back offseasons just to save money. Refused to use a 25 million dollar TPE to bring in talent. Refused to use any of the MLE to bring in talent. This is the result of an owner too cheap to pay the LT. This team was built to work a certain way with normal NBA depth on the roster. We don't have that and as a result the team is losing games and is not a playoff team. This is 100% on Tony Ressler. Messy Ressy indeed. Don't blame the FO or Quin or Trae or DJ or whoever else you want to blame. Blame the SEVENTH RICHEST OWNER in the NBA that won't pay money to even compete.
