    Dj runs the 2nd team unit a lot or they switch things up. They practice more ball movement and guys coming off screens to get open shots (like Trae). It isn't really translating to being done in the actual games as much as the players want. before someone asks the logical next question...I do not know why this is happening. I know Quin wants a major roster overhaul and the FO has come around to his way of thinking over the course of the season. I don't believe in coaches making statements to a FO through games or practices or how he handles players. I don't know if that is what this relates to but it makes me wonder.

    I would honestly keep him a healthy scratch if he's going the Vince Carter route. We can't risk him getting hurt before we trade him. Losing games this season only increases the value of our lottery pick in the draft.

    I already made that trade, I did the trade you proposed a couple weeks back that sent Capela to the Mavs as well in my NBA 2k current era franchise for the Hawks. Trae and KAT are insane together. I just hope we can make it happen IRL.

    I can confirm that's a real DM from DJM. I believe he and Klutch are now starting the "Vince Carter" plan to force the Hawks to trade him.

    I do find it funny that Trae had 30/11/3 steals and was +9 in the game...and people are still shitting on him. And not Ressler who won't pay for a team to put around Trae or a good team for Quin to coach.

    It is getting a little hard to read the game day threads because certain posters are so clearly enjoying the Hawks losing games. I don't want to give the mods extra work by going down that route but you know who you are. Blame Ressler for the mess we are in. Traded two starters in back to back offseasons just to save money. Refused to use a 25 million dollar TPE to bring in talent. Refused to use any of the MLE to bring in talent. This is the result of an owner too cheap to pay the LT. This team was built to work a certain way with normal NBA depth on the roster. We don't have that and as a result the team is losing games and is not a playoff team. This is 100% on Tony Ressler. Messy Ressy indeed. Don't blame the FO or Quin or Trae or DJ or whoever else you want to blame. Blame the SEVENTH RICHEST OWNER in the NBA that won't pay money to even compete.

    To back up with @thecampster and @NBASupes has said: these leaks about DJM to the Lakers are coming from Klutch and the Lakers. In reality there are several teams talking to the Hawks about DJM. It is not a foregone conclusion he is moved to the Lakers.

    We can thank Messy Ressy for other team's lowballing us over and over again for Murray. I find it beyond comical that DFS and Caruso are seen as easily worth two firsts but all the Hawks can get is a 2029 Lakes FRP that will be useless and an expiring contract? You can't even make that trade happen in NBA 2K, Nick.

    If @Mikey is correct this Lakers 2029 FRP is some kind of platinum level of currency to other team's when we could use it to bring in KAT or Zion. Anything less than bringing in a star in the offseason means I'm emotionally out as a fan until Ressler sells the team.

    I mentioned before the Hawks had switched to wanting expiring contract(s) and two firsts for DJM. If we get Dinwiddle to play out the string on a lost season plus just one firs for DJM that is an epic failure for this FO. I also have to point out getting out of Dinwiddle's money in the summer means, again, we shed salary for three straight seasons with no one brought in to replace the talent level.

    To be fair, I think Landry and Korver are solid. It is the Ressler that are the issue. And they run the franchise.

    Not really despite what Diesel posted. If he never played young guys Mitchell, Gobert, Ingles etc would never have gotten playing time.
