  1. This has been on my mind since the Warriors won the title. I keep hearing and reading about positionless basketball since the Dubs grabbed the title and it has me thinking about this dude. Let me just say I hated Billy Knight and I was heartbroken when we grabbed Marvin over Deron Williams(Chris Paul was available but Deron was who I wanted). But looking back, I have to ask the board, am I crazy? I feel like I'm going crazy thinking he might have been onto something. Maybe it was ownership holding him back from his true vision. Either way, I just need to talk/post this out with some other informed individuals.
  2. Who's making the Free Mike Budenholzer t-shirts and how can I get one?
  3. Dennis was getting abused by Jarret Jack as well but you have to keep in mind that this is Dennis' first playoffs. I don't think he got in the game at all last year. I would have bet money Dennis would be a better player by now, but Jeff's growth under Bud has been amazing. As a side note, just think how good Milwaukee would be going forward with Jeff. Ugh. Glad we kept him.
  4. The bulls may be a candidate for the new look hawks.
  5. Is it me or has this been one of the crazies off seasons? Between free agency and the draft is seems like everyone except the Spurs, Thunder, and Grizzlies are trying to load up. What are the Hawks doing? Even for Ferry it 's got to be hard to be patient. I don't have much to offer other than a fresh space to second Dolfan's Monroe plus Klay Thompson idea. I know it means losing Horford but I feel like Milsap can get his own shot to a better degree than Al. I don't know which way we are going but I don't want to get left out in the cold again this offseason.
  6. 1. Lavine - we need another person who can attack the rim and I feel he is the only potential superstar on the list. 2. Anderson 3. Hood 4. Mcdermott 5. Staukas 6. Warren 7. Payne 8. Harris 9. Young
  7. Melo is playing PF at this point in his career anyway. We would have to trade Milsap for him.
  8. Yeah, my problem with trading Dennis is I don't see anybody better at 8. The guys at the combine talked about Vonleh being the first PF off the board. He also supposedly not that atheltic. If there is a can't miss at 8 then I can live with that.
  9. Dennis is clearly the more natural point guard. Even more so than Teague. So Teague hit a lull for 2 months and Mack was better. Who cares? We know Mack is not better than Teague. And I know Mack isn't better than Dennis. He started out well and regained it at the end. He beat him out of training camp and had him until the Sacramento game. I know from the eye test he's a more natural point guard than anyone on the team and that's why I believe in him. He plays like a real point guard.
  10. Hasn't he? He was better at the beginning of the season and at the end of the season as well. He's at least as good without getting a drop better.
  11. I only like the thought of trading Dennis is someone who can be a superstar is available. Dennis BEAT Shelvin out of TRAINING CAMP last year and will do it again this year, but this time hold on to his job. I think he will be a better point guard than Teague in the long run.
  12. 1. KJ McDaniels 2. Zach Lavine 3. Rodney Hood 4. Kyle Anderson 5. Nick Staukus I started watching James Young when he was attatched to us at 15 in mocks early in the season. His body language reminded me of Teague's bad body language and he was terrible on defense. He looked much better in this game and if he can be this player. I'd put him in my top five. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJSdzY5mLVU This is a good game to watch. Adreian Payne vs Julius Randle. Some James Young vs. Gary Harris. Sorry, I don't know how to embed the video.
  13. I hate that I paid so much attention to combine and Zach Lavine has piqued my intestest. That said, I stll like K.J. He compares himself to Paul George. I hope he can become that good.
  14. The combine is availabe to watch on demand on ESPN3.
  15. My biggest knock on him was I thought he wouln't be big enough to play the 2. He measured 6' 4.5". He also did well with the shooting drills. I'm damn impressed. http://stats.nba.com/draftCombineNonStationaryShooting.html#pageNo=1&rowsPerPage=100
  16. Affalo's availability and cost could change with the draft. If they draft Exum then Affaflo becomes a lot cheaper. Even a straight up trade for Lou to give Orlando bench fire power could work if the salaries match.
  17. The real difference between 2008 and now is we are flexible. We found ourselves in mediocrity because we wanted to see the team grow, but we also had Joe Johnson whose contract put us in a bind. The thought at the time was losing him meant rebuilding and that turned out not to be the case. There's no one on this team that means the death of competitiveness for us besides apparently Al Horford and he's not getting a Joe Johnson contract. What we do know would help us is more athleticism at the wing, a closer, and a superstar. These things can be brought in piece by piece or with one player. Flexibility means we have the options to go either way.
  18. I still believe Dennis can be better than Teague. Teague is a better athlete but being a lesser athlete doesn't hurt Chris Paul. Let's not forget, Dennis beat Mack for the back-up guard spot coming out of training camp and I see no reason why he can't do it again. As far as Bebe, I'm still in the wait until summer league to judge him again mode. Now for the picks. That's three top 20 first-round picks being offered. The only times I can remember that many first round picks being traded usually involve a super-star player trading teams. I don't see any reason for a team in the top five of the lottery to even listen. After that, I don't see anybody after the top five worth giving this much up for. It's kind of hard. The picks being offered are where EVERY LOTTO TEAM expects to be picking next year anyway(even though we know most won't). Maybe a team like Sacramento with Gay and #6 for a player and picks. Maybe N.O with #7 for Tyreke Evans for a player and picks. This is assuming somebody throws a curveball in the top five and skips Parker, Embiid, Wiggins, Randle, Exum.
  19. The real issue is whether Al and Teague can become the new Stockton and Malone in the PnR because that's our only real chance of becoming championship contenders with the roster. Most contenders have two A players(Heat, Clippers, Trailblazers, Thunder) with one of the A players willing to play the role of a B player. Neither of these guys individually are A players but their PnR game is dangerous. When you mix in Sap, it may be just enough to push us over the edge. Otherwise, get Carmelo, Monroe, or other superstar when the it's opportune. I wish we had the chance to see what we had in this system this year, but unfortunately we are going to have to wait until later next year(Horford will take a while to get back to form) to see what this group can really be.
  20. After watching his Draftexpress video, he seems to have the skillset we are going to need from a wingplayer.
  21. Coaching staff deserve a lot of the props.
  22. The real question is can we win with Teague being the man. He's the guy he is now because everybody who was more assertive is out of his way. He probably wouldn't be this Teague with Joe or Josh still here.
