  1. What if a better team has an injury on their bench and decides to offer J-Rich a contract after his 10-day is done with us? Point is, it's a risk either way.
  2. Looks like it got pulled again. Nowhere to be found on AJC.com (direct link still works though)
  3. Quote: I mean Bibby is going from this to this Maybe in Sacto's glory days, but lately Philips draws a bigger crowd than Arco
  4. I think Woody's point (which he's actually right on), is that we can continue to run if we can't protect the ball. If you want to run, the last thing you can do is turn the ball over in transition because that = easy points for the other team. So the logical thing to do would be to slow things down, but of course the Hawks have no half court offense either, so it's a catch 22.
  5. Based on the subject, I was expecting a post about what happens this offseason if the Hawks don't make the playoffs.
  6. The Lakers are number 1. All the fans in Kobe jerseys at Philips Arena are obnoxious and just ooh and ahh at playground ball. The Heat are climbing into 2nd after this whole replay thing. Beyond that, any team that gathers a lot of posers (half of which have never been to that team's city) when they do well. The Lakers are probably the worst, but you see the same for Miami, Phoenix, etc. My guess is, based on that logic, if the Hawks make the playoffs, I'm going to have to start hating them too
  7. No doubt. AJ did make Devin Harris look like an all star. We just need somebody to step up and start protecting the ball
  8. Anthony Johnson, for not being a spectacular player, was the "field general" quarterback of the team. He wasn't going to win you the game, but he wasn't going to lose it for you either. He ranks in the top 10 in the NBA in assist/turnover ratio, and with him at the helm the Hawks averaged under 15 turnovers per game. In 5 games since he departed (I'm blaming this on losing AJ, NOT adding Bibby), the Hawks are averaging 21 turnovers per game. I think the guys got excited about Bibby and started playing excited, lacking discipline (which showed on the defensive end the first few games as well). Anyway, point is, part of me is missing AJ....
  9. Lost 13 of their last 14 on the road. Over their last 38 road games (going back to last season), they are 6-32. This guy has no clue how to get these young guys ready to play on the road.
  10. A beating this bad might instantly kill the energy that a roster change creates.
  11. Ryan Cameron will be calling him 4-3 Mike Bibby for threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
  12. Just answered my own question. The top trade on the Hawks leaderboard, getting our beloved Hawks to a projected record of 82-0, is this beauty:
  13. Haha. I just got a message "HIGH SCORE! You have ranked fifth in the Atlanta Hawks leaderboard" by trading Lo to the Lakers for Bynum and Farmar. Increased the Hawks to 49 wins. When I added JJ and Speedy into this deal for Kobe, I moved up to 3rd, netting the Hawks 63 wins. Now I wonder what the #1 on the Hawks leaderboard was?
  14. Quote: Atlanta is not your normal city in that many of the citizen's of Atlanta move here for 5 years due to their career and the next think you know they are transfered some where else. That's part of it, but you can't deny that there are a lot of posers in Atlanta. I was at the Falcons/Colts game on Thanksgiving, and you can't tell me that half that stadium had even ever been to Indianapolis, much less was from there.
  15. Quote: my question is: does LAKERS have homecourt everywhere they go? or is this just a HAWKS thing? It's more than just a Hawks thing, it's an Atlanta thing. But I sure felt good waving my keys at the Lakers fans as they left the building last night. I started taking a poll of everyone in a Kobe jersey to see how many had actually ever been to LA. Oddly enough, every single one said they were born and raised
  16. No, Mojo was showing another NBA game. I never was able to find the game in HD.
  17. Sekou's probably got some specific quotes, but will wait to print them until the day before their first playoff game, lol.
  18. I tried to check it out for the Utah game (it was listed on the Comcast guide as showing the game on FSNHD), but every time I went to that channel, the screen froze. The interesting thing was, when Rathbun announced the channel on air, he gave the channel number for Mojo (I think), not FSNHD (as it shows up in the Comcast guide). So it's not just your cable, something funky is going on there.
  19. The much talked about players meeting at the end of a 6-9 November has been followed by an 8-3 mark so far in December. If the Hawks keep playing like this, hopefully some details will come out later this season about what was said to turn this thing around.
  20. Quote: When Josh took that 3 near the end of the game I was like "NOOOOOOOOooooo.......YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! When I see him wind up for the 3, I just close my eyes and wait for the crowd reaction.
  21. Quote: Wrong! One-dimensional players are becoming obselete in the nba now Back this up with some examples. I challenge you to name a championship team in recent memory that didn't have such role players (Bruce Bowen, Robert Horry, Damon Jones, Ben Wallace) who played very specific roles but, in doing so, were invaluable to their team's success.
  22. Quote: But like those other teams, we can't afford to lose JJ for about a week or two. I'll feel a lot better about possible losing JJ for a week or two if Marvin continues his positive progression scoring-wise, and AJ can play even 80% of who he's been lately. I think the Miami game showed we can be very competitive if Smoove isn't contributing as much as he normally does. But if we can put it all together and get Smoove's defensive and rebounding contribution (and a little low post scoring), the same from Horford, some nice shooting and a little more aggression from Marvin, JJ scoring when need-be but also sharing the ball and not forcing shots, and AJ making the whole thing work as the floor general, these guys can take just about anybody.
  23. Hmmm, well I guess it's just been the games I've been to that they used the same song.
  24. What? Nelly got slighted? Anyone who can hold their own with Adam Sandler gets my vote
