  1. I don't know, there were 3 mini camp level talents on the team last year, right? Othello, Richardson and Morris. Maybe more, I don't remember. And that's not including Mario West who is basically a d-leaguer with connections.
  2. I don't know about Gasol. Horford blocked a half a shot more than Gasol did per game last year.
  3. You'd think that would go without saying. I'm surprised that got ok'd.
  4. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60732/20090722/report_odom_agrees_to_terms_with_lakers/ This makes me happy.
  5. I nominate Huntsville, AL for the Hawks D-League team.
  6. It'd be awesome if they'd put the team in Huntsville, AL. I'd go to the games anyway. :helpsmilie:
  7. Out of all these guys I'm the most interested in Korolev and Siler.
  8. Yeah, but I mean other than Gortat, who were they going to get? Given who was available at the start of the off season, a trade is the only way we would have been able to get any kind of decent center. Ben Wallace or Petro I guess somewhat fill those voids, but not really. Swift is retarded. Aaron Gray? I just don't think there was a lot available. I'll take Joe Smith.
  9. I wouldn't say he has no real post game.
  10. This Anderson guy is going to start over Bass? I'm not familiar with him, is he really that good?
  11. Oh, well I can only speak for myself as an anti-Woodson type, but I don't necessarily think he doesn't know basketball because I have nothing to go on in that regard. I just think his results suck. I mean it could just be the players, but even then I'd rather have someone who will get on to them and call them out in the media than Woody.
  12. I don't think coaching is all about saying the right things. It's about getting the people to actually do the right things. Otherwise, we could just give all the players an instruction manual.
  13. Is Barnes a shooting guard? I always thought he was a small forward.
  14. I agree that if running is your identity, you won't ever win big. Then again, I think you can still play defense while running on offense. Neither Phoenix nor Golden State did that. I believe we can easily be better defensively than either of those teams, and even if we aren't, a running offense would still be preferable to whatever you want to call our current offensive strategy.
  15. I think if we do somehow manage to acquire another big man to play behind Zaza, he will be the end of the line in terms of playing time. And I'm not confident that he will even exist. There is no way Woodson is going to give any of these minicamp guys any playing time, so I think whoever signs from that group is pretty much irrelevant as is Randolph Morris. I would honestly be amazed if we sign another big man mainly because the ASG has proven to be cheap and there's no guarantee Woodson would play them much anyway.
  16. Do you honestly have any hope that we will run with Woodson as the coach? I mean, we've all been saying this for years, and our offense has remained "Iso-Joe" throughout.
  17. I guess it was a waste of whatever the difference is between what he made and the league minimum.
  18. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60699/20090721/magic_near_deal_with_matt_barnes/ Watching the Magic depresses me even further about Atlanta's inability to even sign a crappy backup center. edit: Sorry about the misspelled name in the title. I can't edit it, though.
  19. Yeah, I don't know who could possibly come to that conclusion either. That's why no one did. What I did say was that Flip's year last year approached Crawford's career numbers. Get it now? Everyone here can hope that Crawford outplays his career stats next year, and I'll be right there with you, but it's far from a sure thing that Crawford outperforms Flip's year last year given his career numbers. If you guys are incapable or just don't want to respond to the point I'm actually making, then please don't bother responding at all because I'm tired of beating this same thing into the ground.
  20. LOL, "If you do the math." I'm ok with the math, but if you think that difference in turnover ratio makes up for the fact that Flip actually had better offensive numbers per minute, and was less turnover prone in the second half of the season when he was actually really good, then I don't know what to tell you. And calling Flip a black hole and then praising Crawford is kind of hilarious. You ever seen the guy play? Not to mention the fact that our entire offense operates as a series of black holes. That's just the nature of the beast.
  21. I don't think this ownership group will cut a guy who's making any kind of guaranteed money.
  22. Morris has a guaranteed deal doesn't he? I think it's a forgone conclusion that he'll be back.
  23. I understand that we don't need a star. That doesn't change the fact that a lot of non-star big men have been signed and now Ben Wallace is supposedly talking to the Pistons. From everything coming out of Sekou's blog, I'm afraid they mean some minicamp scrub when they talk about adding a big man to the roster. Hope I'm wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me.
