  1. Acie has to come out playing solid to start the season, and then he can carve out 20+ minutes a night. The only way we reach .500 is with someone able to spell Bibby and JJ for 10+ minutes a night, especially when Chills is subbing for Marvin.
  2. Quote: Marv for James Jones/Channing Frye. They get Sf with potential. We get Shooter and a Big. I dont like this trade either. Frye has been exposed in Portland as a slighty taller Solomon. We need someone with beef.
  3. They wont take Beasley because they have T-Thomas (and Gooden), along with Noah. Rose makes much more sense.
  4. Quote: Quote: Quote: If the team needs more rebounding and better outside shooting then that speaks to Marvin more than chillz in my opinion. Your opinion is wrong. Marvin scores 6.5 ppg on jumpers, Childress 1.5. Marvin gets 4.2 defensive rebounds per game, Childress 2.6. The numbers are very clear. If he was so good at shooting the outside shot(as you always bring up) then why do we need it? If he can rebound so good then why are you bringing it up? If Marvin is good at these things then why do we need to get better at them? Because he can only shoot mid range jumpers and his rebounding isn't as good as you think it is. If you look at the games then you can clearly see he is not a difference maker. He is a player who plays off others. Waiting on JJ to drive and kick or get doubled so he can shoot his mid range jumper. You need more than that from your starting SF. Stats don't always tell the whole story but they are always used when it comes to Marvin. Tell me the game he affected so much? Which game did he do something other that shoot mid range jumpers to help the team win? How is he a dynamic player? Is he a clutch player at the end of games? I support the guy because he is on the team but he is not a good enough all around player to start. We don't win Game 6 without Marvin. And in almost all of his games he does something other then shoot mid-range jumpers...he drives to the hole praying to draw a foul every game.

    Marvin!

That video makes me... 1. Not want to trade Marvin 2. Wish for a new coach
  6. Quote: Diaw-18th pick-6'8 forward Childress-6th pick-6'8 forward Smoove-17th pick-6'9 forward Marvin-2nd pick-6'9 fprward Shelden-5th pick-6'9 forward Horford-3rd pick-6'10 forward Law-11th pick-6'3 PG Wow. And doesnt account for JJ (6'7) and Harrington (6'9). He least he was consistent at something. Joking aside, its sickening to know how many drafts we overachieved on. I have a sinking fear we're never going to get past the 2nd round (like the late 90s teams) because we missed on so many game-changing players.
  7. There is a 0% chance they make that trade.
  8. I think he could have a role here, and if he had 10-15 minutes a game he would give us much-needed outside shooting, but its obvious Woodson will only play him when he has to. He's gone, and I wish him the best, and that he finds a team that will actually use him.
  9. Our team defense isnt as good as Boston's, and who would we have put on him, Marvin? Plus Z is a bad matchup for Horford/Zaza. I think we could have forced at least 6 games, but we probably match up better with Boston. Plus dont forget we would have been worn out physically and mentally.
  10. Wow, Knightmare was really drinking the koolaid.
  11. In other news, Christmas will be on December 25th of this year, and then the same day and month every following year.

    A Travesty

Quote: we don't have a shooter, a rebounder, a shotblocker, or a low power scorer off the bench Salim could have been that shooter, Solomon can be that shotblocker, Zaza can sometimes be a rebounder and low post (not so much power) scorer. I think enough potential was on the bench to fill those roles. But the problem was if they failed on their alotted chance, they got banished back to the bench.

    A Travesty

Quote: The reality of the situation is, Joe's lack of leadership, Josh Smith's ill advised jumpers, Marvin's timid ways, Bibby's lack of production, Woody's bad coaching, Billy's bad picks, Claxton's creeky knees and bad contract, and/or the Hawks' lack of an inside presence isn't the reason why this team is in bad shape. Wow, that pretty much sums it other. Woodson's failure to develop the bench falls squarely under "bad coaching".
  14. Woodson is coaching on borrowed time now that the person that hired him is gone. The playoff run (and I use the word run loosely) bought him another year most likely. So Solo and Richardson, get ready for several more dnp's!
  15. I agree with other posters, if Philly offers max do a sign and trade. Dalembert, Williams, and their draft pick would be fair I believe. Then with Williams and Law we could trade Bibby for whatever the hell we wanted.
  16. It crashed because they were using mysql instead of sqlserver
  17. Quote: Image what a team we would have if we draft both CP3 and Roy. Our Starting 5 would be: Chris Paul Brandon Roy Joe Johnson Josh SMith Hortford WOW..best starting 5 in the league!-makes me wanna cry a lil bit lol o well..we still have a bright future If we had drafted Chris Paul we would have had a slim chance at Roy and probably still would have taken Shelden because no one would have taken him at 5 and BK had a mancrush on him. If we had taken Chris Paul, there's no way we would have ended up with the third pick two years later. Horford would have never joined the Hawks.
  18. Quote: TRADE HIM 4 http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...15~15&te=&cash= I wish.
  19. Quote: Forgetting the Shelden Williams over Brandon Roy/Rudy Gay from 06? That debacle stands out more to me then Chris Paul/Marvin Williams. At least Marvin is a servicable player. The Slumlord was a complete whiff.
  20. Copied from another thread... This is what I would do. 1. Trade Bibby. He cant stick the quick pg's which is what the nba is moving to. He is a streaky shooter that's more off then on. He isnt part of our future. Move him while he has value. 2. Fire Woodson. No excuse for getting blown out four straight road games. Losing four straight road games is one thing, but as badly as we did, he needs to go. 3. Decide what kind of team we want to be. If its a running team, then... 3a. Lets trade Bibby for a running pg. If its a halfcourt team... 3b. Trade Marvin or Smooth for a legit center, then move Horford to power forward. 4. Do NOT give Smooth max money. He isnt nearly consistent enough with his jumper and turnovers. Giving max to a player that isnt at least an all-star is dumb. 5. If Woodson is kept, tell Woodson the only way he keeps his job is by playing and developing the bench. We cant go another season only playing 7 deep. 6. Get Law and Solomon to work their tails off. There are minutes available for them, but they both have to improve their offensive games to stay on the court. Law has to get his jumper back from college, and Solomon needs to bulk up more and get some kind of post-up game. 7. We must learn to win on the road. It killed us all season. If we had won half our games on the road (is that TOO much to ask for?) we wouldnt have been stuck playing the best team in the league for the first round. Go Hawks.
  21. His last three games should cancel all that max-contract talk.
  22. Try to stay rational people. We pushed the best team in the nba to the brink. Lets not blow it up. This is what I would do. 1. Trade Bibby. 23. I think I can sum up Woodson's performance today in one word: EXPOSED
  24. Quote: Quote: Jeremy Richardson then Salim. Jeremy is a 6'6 sharpshooter with the ability to attack the basket, but I would to see for him to get three or four open looks if JJ is double teamed--and see how he does.. Boston would likely dare him to shoot and if he makes it a few times it can give the Hawks a real boost for Game 7 and put doubt in Boston. I'll be stunned if he sees the court for meaningful minutes. Then again I was surprised when I saw Solomon Jones.
  25. I am a Marvin hater. He played awesome tonight, but the thing that sucks is that this is the same thing that happened in the regular season. We'd write him off, he'd play one good (but not great) game and everyone starts saying "see hes got all the talent in the world, just give him time" then they are content with his suckiness.
