  1. The blocks excite me. We could really use that on defense.
  2. Exactly, this is the next Solo. Tall, lanky, athletic, can play center or pf, 2nd round pick. Billy Knightmare would be proud.
  3. I would definitely take Bynum, but I don't think they do it for Josh Smith. Gasol and Odom are both better at power forward.
  4. GREAT 1st quarter! Jeff TTTTTTTTEAGUE!!! Here's hoping they can keep it up.
  5. We know he sulkd in the regular season over his lack of an extension, that he wanted to be traded, and that he didn't like the offense. But when he's on, he can carry the team, and folks he's on. There's no way we are replacing his ability to score, and we would also be losing one of our best deep threats, if not our best. He's definitely one of our top four players and he's been our best player against the Magic, he is just punishing them. 4 years 28 million? Three years, 24 million? We know all the salaries are coming down anyways with the next cba. Bottom line, let's keep Jamal, we can see his potential is still at a very high level.
  6. Absolutely no excuse for what happened tonight. The real question is how are we going to blow this up? Trade for other players or trade for draft picks? This roster is broken, and Drew has lost them.
  7. Yes it was a mistake, we gave up way too much. Hinrich isn't that good. Plus look how Evans and Jordan Crawford have performed...it's obvious to me that the problem was coaching and/or our flawed roster. When you also look at how we threw in a first-round pick that we desperately need for a talent infusion and...we totally lost this trade.
  8. We don't need another reminder on how we blew it on Marvin Williams over Paul and Williams, and how we took the Slumlord over basically anyone.
  9. 1. Is Flip even in the league anymore? Come on. Crawford is definitely better than him, and I don't see anybody on this team that can replace his ppg and especially his occasional big night. Plus with our money problems there is no way we sign someone worth half a damn. 2. The AJC reminded me that we were on the second night of a back-to-back. That makes playing only seven players even worse. Look, I definitely agree that our bench sucks, but at the same time you're telling me wouldn't get away with Teague or Wilkens playing 5-10 minutes each, or sending any of our centers out there for at least the last minute of the 1st and 3rd quarter?????
  10. What are we going to do with Smoove? Probably hold on to him because we're asking for too much to trade him. What do I wish we would do with Smoove? Trade him. I think if we got 90 cents on the dollar, it would still be a net win for the TEAM if we got his attitude and crying shipped out of here.
  11. Even Woodson would always play eight players, I honestly can't remember one box score where he played less than his typical eight-man rotation. Now we have Drew who find any minutes for Teague, which is nothing new but after his Portland game its just embarrassing for Drew to give him DNP's, plus Wilkins is definitely good enough for at least 5-10 minutes. You're telling me his defensive bump, even if overrated from what it really is, isn't worth spelling JJ for a couple minutes, or getting Crawford's terrible D off the court? I'm not saying that Drew should have played 10 or more guys...it's just dumb that we have five players listed at Center on this team (though you could play Powell or Armstrong at PF), and most of the other guys are just pure garbage. But there is NO excuse to not go AT LEAST 8 deep on this team, and probably 9. The scary part is...what are the odds the bench doesn't get worse next year when Crawford leaves, especially when you consider we traded Jordan Crawford away and our #1 pick.
  12. Josh Smith is the one that HAS to go. He's embarrassing to the coaching staff, fans, and his teammates with his behavior, his whining and complaining to refs, and his constantly slacking up the court. He's borderline uncoachable. His jumper is wildly inconsistent. He's essentially been the same player the last three years, stats-wise, so his performance might have peaked with this team. Look, we have several players on this team with some kind of a bad attitude (Smoove, JJ, Jamal, Zaza). We're stuck with JJ and probably Zaza, while we'll be shedding Jamal's attitude that he's had since the previous offseason. We should also take the opportunity to get rid of Josh. Plus, this team has proven it can win without Josh (the Bulls game where Horford dominated at PF comes to mind).
  13. So our first backup pg is Jamal? Not crazy about that, but it happens already so...
  14. I think its the players more than the coach. That said, ownership made a huge mistake by promoting the long-time assistant coach...it's obvious that the players need a new voice. Instead, the players have tuned out the coach.
  15. I voted for Dwight, but this poll is like asking me which one I rather do next year, fly to Mars or become King of England. Either choice aint happening.
  16. It doesn't matter what LD says, the players have tuned him out. The trade was an attempt to wake up the roster, but it clearly hasn't worked. We need to break up the core.
  17. I am completely op board for trading JJ. He's way overpaid, he ain't getting better, he's boring, he isn't a leader, he's a jerk, etc. Maybe NJ would do it once they realize they arent going to keep Williams. Golden State has the pieces to get JJ from us if they were interested. Houston is always looking for a star, let's give them JJ while we can sell him as the all-star. The main killer to any JJ deal? Of course, it's his salary. It would not be easy to convince a team to pick up a 100-million dollar contract. I think the best we'll be able to do is trade him when he is at 3 years, 60 million left, that's Rashard Lewis, Arenas territory.
  18. Stephen Curry : Doubt we really had a shot at him, but it would have been nice. Anthony Morrow : Should have made a move to get him when he was available. With him at the 2 getting wide open 3's while JJ draws the doubleteam at small forward...that would have been an explosive combo. Dwight Howard : Would solve our biggest weakness (rebounding) and turn it into a strength. Chris Paul : Thanks Billy Knightmare. He would be perfect with JJ and Smoove. LaMarcus Aldridge : We could definitely win a title with him at center. For all the people that voted for Rondo, I say no thanks. He has several glaring flaws that would hurt this team...he can't shoot a jumper, he REALLY can't shoot a 3, he sucks BAD at freethrows which causes him to be hesitant at driving to the rim. Screw KG, he's overrated at this point in his career and injury-prone. Kevin Love would be interesting to get, as would Marc Gasol. Heck, would the Hawks ever take a flyer on Bynum if the price was right?
  19. Exactly, Josh would be a major reason why Howard would consider coming here. Horford would be the main piece of the Hawks offer.
  20. The worst part of this trade is how much of our future we gave up. Teague is the only player we have with any potential to dramatically improve his game. Plus we've seen Ownership fill the bench with scrubs, not young players with any kind of potential.
  21. We gave up too much. We should have given only the 2011 pick or the expiring contact of Evans. We should NOT had given up both. We got the best player, but otherwise they beat us on this trade. Sessions would have been a far better pickup, he has much more upside. We're going to be hunting for point guard again in just one more year. RealGM's D+ grade is a stretch, but it can't be Higher than a C. Remember all the people predicting that Jordan Crawford was going to replace Jamal Crawford next year? Man, thats funny.
  22. Collins is garbage, he should only play when we need the fouls against Orlando
  23. The Hawks did draft a center in 2007, Horford. The Hawks also drafted a point guard in 2007. Unfortunately, it was a complete and utter whiff. The Hawks did sign a power forward in his prime. But Josh Smith isn't as consistent as Boozer. The fact of the matter is that Hawks never got a player as good as Rose, or as good of a rebounder as Noah. The Bulls have had some solid picks and good personnel moves (Kyle Korver was a good get for them), while the Hawks missed completely on Law, the Slumlord, and Speedy Claxton just to name a few. Oh, and don't forget the whole Marvin Williams debacle. Not that you could.
