  1. I see we are on the same page. When I created this thread I expected more answers like this but I now see that there are many that don't have any faith even if our 4 best players play their best basketball the majority of the season. Seriously though if Teague, sap, horford all play their best they would no doubt be in all star reserve talks....I think that alone should tell most fans if that were to happen 48 wins minimum.
  2. I have and I like what I see! He's played a little out of control but it's nothing I would worry about under coach bud....Dantoni never had control of LA to begin with.
  3. I think Bazemore can take opponents off the dribble. To me he is or will be the other ball handler we have been lacking...Lou just didn't fit the style we play. Bazemore is young enough for bud to mold him into the type of player he needs for his system.
  4. Just 45?...huh ok anyone else?
  5. What's the best record the hawks can achieve this season if Teague, Korver, Sap, Horford all play to their highest potential and stay healthy for the whole season? I'm going to say between 49-53 because we are in the eastern conference...your thoughts?

    Mike Muscala

Wow that inch is a hell of difference!
  7. Hmmmmm.... Not gon lie, you make some great points here.
  8. Honestly he's both...love can man up in the post when he wants to! What do you mean stop it? I can agree that he shoots more than he post up but I've seen love dominate in the post and destroy his opponents with his shooting in multiple games...that ain't nothing new!

    Mike Muscala

I got a serious question to ask about muscala....the few hawk games I been to muscala looked atleast two inches taller than Horford. Why is this? Because I believe they are the sand height or Is he really taller?...if so maybe he can play center position.
  10. Is this a "hate" comment towards Teague?
  11. Man!...and to think @Dolfan23 likes to call me bipolar! Most of you all were saying just last month that we need to trade sap, now you're saying lets keep him?! Well let me put my two cents in...I like sap and I would actually rather keep him because he does fit the system and he is a good player but I look at horford situation and it scares me! I don't want to lose horford due to him not wanting to play center so in my view I think ferry will have to trade sap at some point unless the hawks play so well horford commits to the center position for the rest of his career. It's not about sap as a player...this is about horford! Is horford happy if we resign sap long term? Or will horford bolt the next off season because he has a desire to play pf?...you HAVE to ask yourself those questions. Too many of you got offended about trading sap when it's not really all about sap but more so horford who happens to be our best player.
  12. Well see it don't matter what people say about Dennis right now, he's obviously not starting. And while I thought he was going to be atleast the main backup point guard, that isn't so either with the resigning of Mack for 3 years. I have bashed Teague before on these boards but also have given him much credit. Teague in my opinion is a sure all star player if he plays aggressive the way he did in parts of last season. He was learning a new offense and he had to go through some growing pains. I can't wait to see how he plays this next season! 18/8 or 20/7 is not out of question for Teague.
  13. Lol always!....@Diesel is my guy Just wanted to remind hawk fans that Teague is still the most important thing when it comes to how far the team will go weather you view him as a leader or not, or if you are a fan of him or not. But of course this is my opinion. I don't want to put all the pressure on Teague but we go as far as Jeff leads the hawks, when he's aggressive there's no telling where this team will end up.
  14. I do this too. The only time I pay a little less attention to hawksquawk is during football season.
  15. I know our all star horford is coming back and I know Sap is an all star player now but it's very true when I say that Jeff Teague is still the head of the snake on this team. Teague makes this team go no matter if you like him or not! What's so damn ironic from this past season is how Teague started and finished the regular season....he started the regular season very strong and finished the regular season very strong. Where he messed up was the majority if not all the middle part of the season! Take a look at Teagues stats, he played superb in November and April, look for yourself http://m.espn.go.com/nba/playergamelog?playerId=4015&season=2014&month=3 Teague was on the rise in the nba playing aggressive the way he did in November and April carrying that same play into the playoffs. Teague is back on my good side but I still have small doubts. If he plays unaggressive for the majority season again I don't think it's going to matter if horford is back or not. I think we will have a winning record but by only a few games. Teague HAS to be aggressive and take charge this next season and make that type of play a natural thing for him...if he does not I see him being possibly shipped off early in the season likely around December. *just a side note, personally for me I don't see ferry trading Teague if Teague actually plays to his all star level potential. I know many fans see ferry trading a lot of our players for a star player but I think ferry is realizing just how damn hard it is to get a star in Atlanta and he won't be too quick to trade certain hawk players.
  16. Lol I hear ya! I really do but we have all been saying this for the past several months. I think the writing is on the wall at this point. Seems like we will go into the regular season with sap on the roster and hope ferry can make a significant trade before the deadline. I have faith ferry can get the job done but at this point I don't know if he can get what he wants if he does trade him.
  17. Jeremy Lin falls in this category too then right? Basically your saying Bazemore is a "system player"...well I'm ok with that cause it's very possible to be a great system player. Many people believe Parker and ginobli are future HOFs because of coach pops system and that may be true but we also will never know cause they will never leave the spurs.
  18. We can say the same thing about Paul George and Danny granger! Point is if you give the opportunity to show your skills then you do just that. Bazemore got an opportunity...showed his skills and got plenty of offers this off season. He's young enough to develop into all star talent under coach bud. It's not setting the bar too high, I just believe this guy has the tools to be a very good talent in the nba under coach bud.
  19. That's my point. This guy is a mystery more than a writing on the wall that he'll never be a all star. I'm sure he will probably never be in the Kobe/Lebron type category but he can be an all star player who makes appearances in the all star game throughout his career.
  20. Speak the truth man...excellent post! I'm one of the few that really like our moves so far this off season.
  21. Yeah see this is my problem as well...how the hell (and I don't mean to question Coach buds great logic of spreading around minutes) is Dennis going to develop when it's clear that teague is still the top pg on our team and it's clear that Mack is a better backup pg and all of this will probably be true for the next 2 years. I guess if Dennis isn't traded...bud will throw him out there in random games giving him his opportunities to take Mack's backup pg role. Eventually Dennis is going to have to play against actual competition to develop.
  22. Can't believe I'm saying this but we've got to be careful on deals like this....I mean our starting lineup would be barea/mack, Kevin Martin, Korver, love, horford....that's a decent starting lineup but defense would be horrible by far! I much rather keep what we have. I don't like giving up Teague since Dennis isn't ready yet and I don't think Mack is solid enough to run pg starting for any team. Not a good idea to get rid of DMC for a player like Kevin Martin but if it brings love I guess it's ok. I have no problems with barea he's a decent guard. I think the real concern is the pg position. I much rather keep Teague and make the deal. The main thing in doing a deal like this would mean that we HAVE to make sure we have a good enough team to make a serious run in the playoffs so that we can try to retain love in the next off season.
  23. Yeah I mean of course he won't start over Korver at the start but I do think he will take his starting position by the end of December or early January. But hey that's just my analysis of what will happen.
  24. Give him minutes and he will provide. I don't think it's too far at all. I mean yeah 7points in 17 minutes is great for him but I think he will avg more minutes than that.
