  1. Well I meant all star down the road. I will be honest I did not know of him before we picked him up and honestly other than those 23 games he started and played extremely well for the lakers he's still a mystery player. But let's be honest. If minutes are given to show your ability there's a chance you can make a significant difference. I knew of DMC before we got him and I predicted that he would start. Judging his heart and hustle he may not be a permanent starter but he didn't start and not make a difference in the starting lineup...he started and played good defense, rebounded well, and have us call a pleasant surprise knocking down the 3 ball consistently throughout the year. Look at Bazemore situation....we are talking about a kid that played 23 games starting avg 13 points, good fg%, good 3pt%, slashed to the goal very well, and played good defense for those games all because he got an opportunity unlike he did in GS. It's about giving our young players opportunity. He got a 2mil contract right now yes. But you act like a 24/25 year old can't improve and earn a higher salary when this contract is up....if the guy is hungry enough which he is by what I read in his interviews, he will make a difference much like DMC did.
  2. I think so too...will of course take him some time to become a ginobli type player but it is possible. An your right on point...I think Bazemores explosiveness, high energy, and defense will be enough to win him the starter role sometime in the beginning of the season. *On a side note: I was extremely excited about Lamar Patterson and still am but I'm way more excited about Bazemore...I'm really looking forward to watching him this season.
  3. Your probably right... But am I going to far when I say I expect Bazemore to avg. 10-14 points, 4-5rebs, 3-4 assist per game all while providing good defense? *all of this If he's given similar minutes to what he got in LA to do so that is.
  4. But it's also important that Teague is not the only slasher in the starting lineup. That was the problem last year. We don't have a center that gets a ton of post points nor do we necessarily need one if we have slashers like Teague and Bazemore to get to the goal and finish inside. As far Korver goes...I never felt like Korver was a starter because he's a one trick pony but at the same time I also don't think it matters if Korver starts or not like you mentioned because I feel Korver can get his points quickly if his shot is on. Korver stretching the floor is important yes but what about inside points (points in the paint). I'm sure Teague, Sap, Horford can all do their part but I think a player like Bazemore can balance that offense out more and create a more all around attacking offense.
  5. Lol well I knew someone would say "we are overrating our players again" that's why I used the word possible. I think Baze with starter minutes shows us a lot of good much like DMC...but on the other hand I think Baze with just 10-18 minutes per game shows us probably little to nothing. It's just important that he gets plenty of minutes on the court if he's going to be an effective player for us. But I guess it's nothing to worry about like others have mentioned. He wouldn't have committed here if he wasn't going to get any real playing time. Of course he still has to prove himself.
  6. Soooooo What does this mean for Dennis? How long is Dennis going to stay 3rd string PG?
  7. Yes! No! Maybe? What do y'all think? I think it's possible. After re watching the LA games when he broke out I see a lot of high strong potential, which is great! But the only way he becomes a possible all star player in my eyes is if he starts. I'm all for starting Bazemore over Korver and bringing Korver off the bench. Baze just does more on the court to effect both ends offensively and defensively. I worry that bud is going to treat baze like the warriors did and not even play the man. Again I think he should start over Korver but that may take a month or two in the season to actually put Korver on the bench. Thoughts?
  8. You are exactly right. Looking at the situation the cavs have the best offer when offering wiggins (though they say he isn't really on the table according to nbasupe anyways). If wiggins is really off the table, then I say the hawks have a great chance! The bulls don't really have anything to offer other than damn near their whole team butler, Gibson , another filer and I just don't think they would really do that especially after getting gasol. The warriors have a good shot at getting love but they don't want to part ways with klay Thompson which put those trade talks on hold. My order of teams with the actual opportunity to get love would look like this (if everybody is really on the table): 1.cavs (if wiggins is really on the table, along with expiring deals) 2.warriors (if klay is really available) 3. Bulls (if they would really give up damn near their whole team of good role players including butler, Gibson, etc. to acquire love) 4.hawks (sap expiring deal plus others are really available I'm sure) But I don't believe every rumor so I really think the list is more like this right now: 1. Warriors (I think klay may be offered or put on the table sooner or later) 2. Hawks (I think we are offering the next great deal because of saps expiring contract and the willing to take back bad contracts from minny) 3. Bulls (I don't believe they would give up all those great role players just for love) 4. Cavs (I think the cavs are very hesitant to put wiggins on the table and I don't think they are really willing to do it) All in all I give ferry a good shot with sap and a great shot with horford but I know horford isn't offered in this nor should he be.
  9. Well let me add my 2 cents.... I agree with all of this! Trade milsap + filer for Love. Hope like hell that a Teague, love, horford combination will go deep in the east possibly finals! Sap is not going to take a team friendly deal next off season so we mine as well trade him and get our star player and hope the hawks have a great season where love will return. Worst case scenario in this whole thing is Love leaving in the off season and bud having to start Payne at pf or center. ( not a bad worst case scenario if you ask me)
  10. It was honestly just a bad fit for coach buds offense...healthy or not. I'm not saying Lou isn't good anymore but it was clear that even healthy or healthier throughout the season he just wasn't a good fit for this style. Now is Bazemore and Thabo? I honestly think so. I feel Thabo can fit in just fine. I think Baze with given opportunity like he received in LA is going to surprise a bunch of hawk fans and it makes sense that ferry and bud chased him so hard.
  11. Yeah if he doesn't get the opportunity but I know bud will play him so I doubt he breaks too many parts. I want to see him drop 17-18ppg but if he doesn't my heart isn't broken, because I know he hasn't had a full year to start and he probably won't start until a month or 2 in the season. Even then if he drops 14ppg I will be extremely happy! 10ppg I'm happy! Single digit scoring however and I will be upset.
  12. The funny thing is that while he was at Ohio state he was a great fantastic shooter! He really was but in the NBA so far he can't hit a shot to save his life! I thought about turner coming to Atlanta and started to create a thread about it but decided against it since there are many who wouldn't want him. FYI.... Turner is kind of like the John Jenkins situation. I watched both players closely while they were in college and they were good shooters (really good) got to the nba and just sucked. Jenkins has shown flashes and turner has awkwardly turned into more of a slashing type wing but in college he was a pure shooter! Sometimes I sip on the kool aid too much.... I think bud can turn turner into something special. He can already slash to the goal pretty good, bud will just have to re establish his jump shoot which I know can be done under the right coach.
  13. Congrats!....I love this site! Promote within your own! ....I was concerned at first, I thought dolf was steppin down! Lol
  14. JTB

    I have an idea...

Why not...lets get dolf to ask him.
  15. Yeah this guy has been playing great and I think he should make the roster and stay over here opposed to going back over seas.
  16. Was this posted already? http://www.sportsworldreport.com/articles/32164/20140718/atlanta-hawks-trade-rumors-greg-monroe-target-carlos-boozer-la-lakers-deal-andray-blatche-shawn-marion-kent-bazemore-thabo-sefolosha.htm Probably not a very credible source but it has the "hawks" name in it so......maybe there's something.
  17. Did ferry and bud really say this? That's a very important point that I missed.
  18. Can't help but to be bi polar with this team dolf! But trust me I'm not the only one....it's easy to predict something won't work on this team, think about for a while and then say "hmmm actually it just may work"...until proven wrong I think the world of coach bud and it causes me to change my true opinions on what the hawks are doing. Honestly no matter what I say I'm the one poster here that's going to ultimately end up saying something positive about what the hawks do because again I'm so high on coach bud I honestly feel he can get any player to work that they feel fits his system. So that's the main reason my comments may remind me of your ex wife! Lol I'm on that kool-aid when it comes to coach bud and it's making me bi polar.....if bud wasn't the head coach I would get on here and clown ferry cause there's no other reason to be excited about guys like Bazemore and Sef if bud wasn't coach. Read between the lines most of the time I want to say "ferry! WTF are you doing?!" and usually my post may start off positive (thinking how coach bud can roll with whatever move ferry does) go to negative in the middle (hating ferry made the move) and back to positive at the end (reminding myself that we have the best coach in the east).
  19. After looking over boozer stats...http://m.bkref.com/m?p=XXplayersXXbXXboozeca01.html&t=1 I would welcome him with open arms especially as a backup! But the only thing about this is, getting boozer may cut into paynes playing time? Then again ferry/bud are huge on rotation. Ferry in a radio interview recently seem overly happy when he mentioned that the spurs players highest minutes average was 28 and the hawks were 31 this past season. I'm sure if we did sign boozer, bud would manage the minutes pretty well. I mean I'm sure sap can play some limited stretches at the 3...it's not out if character. Look at that! My own comments got me warming up to the idea of boozer being a hawk!
  20. Speak the knowledge! what you two mentioned seems to be the best thing to do at this point.
  21. Now don't you curse on this board like that! lol
  22. Get what you all are saying but I truly believe that if the hawks can win 50 games for atleast 2 years straight. Fans will show up regardless of what we do in the playoffs. I really believe that! 2 straight years win 50 games...to me it's a gurantee that fans will come out and marquee free agents will start to listen to ferry and bud. With the big 3 breaking up I feel that the hawks are one player away from a 50 win season in the east! (Good thing we aren't on the west!...then we would' be talking about a 10 year plan)
