  1. Thanks for giving us your feedback on Payne! It was def needed on these boards. Personally I already knew of the guy so I was cool with the pick....any ways I wanted to say that I would have to disagree with you on the sap leaving the hawks. I think Sap stays unless we get a really good player for him. To me if the hawks are trying to be the spurs east they better hold on to quality big men like sap so they can have a great rotation. Everybody says sap won't come back for 9m but honestly if ferry has to...11m per year is worth keeping Sap. I don't see sap as a player to chase money I honestly believe he just wants to win and be apart of something special. I see Sap as a hawk in future.
  2. I like that last part you said....us being hawk fans and knowing how badly we need bigs, we should have realized that wings are more plentiful in free agency as you mentioned...in fact because that's true I see why ferry chose to draft his big to develop and just grab a wing to that can come in and help now. I see ferry going hard after.... -parsons -deng -ariza In that order. Getting just one of those guys and our team will be pretty damn good going into next season.
  3. -co sign with you on Payne! Great pick! We need a very good big man rotation and adding Payne may have just given us just that.....10 -Tavares was a great pick! I can see him and bebe being over here in 2 years ready to take on the nba, love the pick but right now he's just a draft and stash....10 -Lamar Patterson...you say this is a nice pick...I say this is our best pick! I'm really high on this guy. I feel he's our Kwahi Leonard pick, not that he plays like Leonard but the Patterson pick feels like bud has a lot to do with it. The guy is a good size SG at 6'5 226 that's a good defender, savy scorer and above average passer!...Bud is going to mold this kid into something great! We will love this pick by mid season. I think this kid will get plenty of PT........10 (plus bonus from me)
  4. Gotcha...I honestly like the Wes Matthews comparison! Only difference is, is that he will be using his talents under a spurs like system so the sky is the limit for him. By the way I agree with him being a system player...lol the way he plays he looks like he's a system player and I'm completely fine with that! In fact it gives me all the more reason to believe bud had something to do with drafting him just like he had something to do with drafting Kwahi..who many believe is a system player. Anyways this kid has a legit chance to start and I feel that he's going to get plenty of on court time at SG to prove himself mainly because he's already committed to working hard on defense.
  5. Seriously this is a no joke question....Forget the Danny Green comparisons, leave that to john Jenkins...but is it me or does Lamar Patterson feel like a Kwahi Leonard pick? -he's 6'5 and 226...put him at SG and he's a bigger SG in the nba with great size -he was a good but not great defender in college...but the fact that he was a good defender speaks loudly to me! I'm sure he can improve to be a great defender -he's average in athleticism but he's a very savy & unique scorer and his above average passing ability makes up for his little to no to average athleticism....also you can tell he has a high BBIQ I know you guys are going to call me crazy but this pick has Budenholzer written all over it in my opinion. He may not be Kwahi but he's special I can tell that right off the back. I'm serious when I say I believe he can compete and be a possible starter by atleast year 2 at SG...bud is going to develop this beast..I don't know him well but my gut is high on him more than any other player we drafted.
  6. Wow!...right on point @Diesel
  7. Love it! Love it! Love it!....can we please bring Tavares or Bebe over for next season?! Please ferry!
  8. I'm cool with the pick but we still need a SG/SF
  9. Lol oh you felt that too?...thought it was just me! Yeah I hope to see a move or two tonight but if not all hope ain't loss.....yet
  10. That's true...if you think about it like that Orlando was never going to give us Afflalo
  11. Probably surprised ferry that Afflalo was given away so easily to be honest. I don't know what to say I'm sure ferry just isn't sitting on his ass...if he is we will find out very soon.
  12. Yeah those who are hating on deng is judging him from a bad cavs team with a terrible front office and coach. If deng came here we would be getting the bulls deng...what we need to worry about is his health. Ferry won't sign him to some crazy ass deal! His health is really the main issue here. Deng fits the SF role bud would want.
  13. I'm not worried....I didn't expect some huge signing for the hawks this season anyways. I look at the hawks situation as a prove it to us and then players will want to come here. I just want the hawks to be a top 3 seed which I see possible and play with some heart when the playoffs come around. I'm happy with: -sign deng to very decent contract he shouldn't get anymore than 8m -sign spencer hawes -bring over bebe -draft & stash saric or draft Kyle Anderson, Rodney Hood, or James Young Oh and... -if possible move up in draft to number 8 and get Marcus smart Those are realistic moves the hawks can do and be a 3 seed once the team adjust to the way coach bud wants them to play.....I'm not worried.
  14. Calm down...let's wait before we continue judging. However I get how nbasupe is feeling but I want to give ferry and bud a chance to make something happen this year and next off season. Now come next off season I'm probably going to be the one making threads like this but I'm willing to give ferry this whole off season and half of next off season before I get pissed off.
  15. What are the chances the hawks draft him on a scale 1-10? (If he drops to 15)
  16. Hmmm I am really on the fence with this one. Pros to drafting saric: -a great pick!..mock drafts have him 7-14! -could stash over seas and give our selves a chance to sign a max player (but is that likely even with given the chance?) Cons drafting saric: -we need immediate help now (but then again maybe not) -we will have to wait on him for 1-2 years (which can be good and bad really) -we may miss out on Kyle Anderson, Rodney Hood, James Young if they fall to us. Conclusion: I'm just going to have to trust ferry and bud on this one. I mean if they bring over bebe for the next upcoming season than I'm ok cause they really are bringing back the players we draft and stash over seas, if they don't then I'm worried. I don't know! It's not a bad pick but if he's not on the hawks roster after year 1 and the hawks have another struggling season...hawk fans will be calling for his head. They need to get him over here to the U.S. after next season and it won't seem so bad.
  17. Let me ask you guys this without starting a new thread. -Since Lou didn't get to work with coach bud last off season in training camp do you think that's a reason he wasn't really fitting in buds scheme? -If Lou is kept does he have the BBIQ to learn buds scheme? -If Lou learns buds scheme can he be our patty mills like player?
  18. You are right but doesn't Teagues strong play at the end of the year automatically gives him another chance under coach bud? Then again I wonder how ferry and bud feel because Teague did play terrible the majority of the year then turned it way up in the final month including the playoffs....that's hard! It really is!...as a gm I'm not sure what I would do because at 25 Teague could very well play next season at a high level or he could be awful again. Sometimes I still feel we don't really know what we have in Teague that's why there's so much argument. His inconsistent play has split the board. It's very easy to watch Teague 5 straight games go off and you're like "damn this kid is the future or our next all star" then the next 5 games watch Teague f it up and say "shit! This guy gotta go!"....
  19. Lmao!...and Im over here trying to go back to page one to see who created this Teague hater post? And it was my ass! Lol Man I was pissed at Teague but his end season and playoff performance made me want to hold on to him to see if he can do it a whole season.
  20. Just not Lou's style of offense. Just not a fit in buds system. Doesn't mean he's done, just should be done as a hawk that's all.
  21. First off my point as well. Supe could very be telling the truth. To me it's not that impressive that we are in Melos top 5, if true it's nice and all but the chances are still very slim until we are his first and second choice. 2nd you were threaten?!!! WTF?!!! That's crazy I don't expect that from hawksquawk even if you were lying about your sources. Not cool man. I'm sure it wasn't a everyday poster.
  22. I dont get all the fuss....so what we may be in Melos top 5, it means nothing unless we are Melos top 2 choices which we aren't. Even as a top 5 team there's a 99 percent chance he doesn't come here. Let the 1 percent dreamers dream...it's not bad for this forum to have some unbelievable hope (though most of us know it's not happening...but let the board dream dammit) lol
  23. Im a optimistic person so I will say that very well could be Melos top five with our very own hawks listed. What's not to believe I mean cp3 mentioned Atlanta as a possible destination before the doc rivers trade and ferry actually met with d Howard last off season. I'm not shocked we are on melos top 5. It doesn't really mean anything until his top 3 choices can't get it done to get him. Being 4 or 5 on the list shouldn't be some outstanding unbelievable thing.
  24. I refuse to pay for ajc...so can you fill me in with what Schultz said?
