  1. Hawes isn't overrated or underrated. He's a 3 point shooting 7 footer that can get you about 8 boards a game. He's nothing more than that and I'm sure I like him the most on this board. Hawes is what he is....for what he does I think he's worth 7-8m and maybe 9m cause he will make bigs that are shot blockers idle when he's in the lineup. Not sure why you think lance is overrated...but he's an elite defender in my book and probably just a really good defender to most people with decent offense and an attitude problem, a really bad attitude problem! But skill wise he's not overrated.
  2. My thoughts as well! The guy quoted his own work as the source!!!! I call BS on all of this! Simmons is a joke.
  3. Doesn't matter as long as he gets starter minutes like ginobli. I don't worry about who's starting and whose not. Bud will put the best lineup on the floor depending on the situation.
  4. On this Journey of TRYING to mock the identity of the all time great spurs franchise best the hawks can.....I think we can all agree that the bench should be a huge focus! The spurs bench is a huge reason this small market franchise have found a way to win 4 championships since 98-99 and appear in 6 including this year. Personally one thing I always loved about the spurs bench is that they can drop a shit load of points! Which I think is more important than anything when it comes to a nba bench. So what moves do you think ferry and bud should make to get the hawks bench to become one of the strongest in the league?
  5. Sorry I don't mean to be an ass but I don't understand why some of you put wall in 1-8!...that guy has so many flaws in his game it's insane....wall is barely a top 10 pg in my opinion
  6. Well we have to remember that bud didn't get a whole year with horford yet....
  7. Hey maybe horford can do it!.......Remember this? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=H3Zy5NPRpHE Horford went right at the leagues best shot blocker that year!....in the clutch!
  8. Yeah man that front line is key....I'm all for keeping the cheaper 3pt threat Antić over hawes, but I would like a post scorer presence either from someone the hawks pick up or horford simply getting better. Also lineup changes are important and it should always be about winning,if we need sap coming off the bench then bud should have him off the bench! I want the hawks to suck in as much spurs mentality as they can cause that team is unselfish and they just do and accept whatever to win.
  9. I'm kidding!!!! No one stole our blue print I just wanted to catch your attention hawksquawk! Anyone pay attention to how both the heat and spurs beat their conference final opponent?...well let's review. Heat: When bird man was injured it actually made the heat harder to defend when they inserted rashard Lewis into the starting lineup. Lewis and bosh played very well together and spreaded the floor for lebron. Biggest key is that west and Hibbert couldn't close out on them on the perimeter and lebron plus others had plenty of chances to attack the goal without the rim protector being there for the majority of the game. Spurs: When ibaka returned for OKC, they got their rim protector back and with his presence that stopped the spurs from getting so many points in the paint in games 3 & 4. But then coach pop outsmarted coach brooks by starting big man 3 point threat Matt bonner in games 5 & 6 and even though bonner didn't have great games he did two things 1. Moved ibaka away from the rim 2. Allowed the hall of famer Duncan to go one on one against the shot blocker in the post and the old man delivered. Conclusion: This ain't no cry out for hawes. This is a point that rim protectors aren't necessarily the way of a championship! Now I do believe you need a rim protector but you also need that BIG that can spread the floor and take that rim protector completely out of the game. To me this is more evidence that it's more important to have quality BIGS probably more than any other position. While I'm hoping we get hawes, I also want Hill and bebe on the hawks next year as well. But to be realistic I would be just as happy to have this big man rotation come next season: Horford-Sap-Antić-Hill or Asik-Bebe (Horford) is an overall good Big who I hear is adding the 3 point shot to his game for when we need it and I'm sure he will be a better post scorer next season. (Sap) is quick power forward who can really do it all offensively. (Antić) will improve his 3 point shot (Hill) is just a flat out hustler, just a great backup big for today's nba (Asik or Bebe) here's our rim protector we need, both should be able to alter shots while asik gives you great rebounding as well. I think the key to a nba championship is our big man rotation and big man scheme against certain teams.
  10. Wow that's pretty disappointing! But I'm confused! Usually when a player does these things it get put put there. I hate what he did if he really did it but unfortunately this is sports and those guys always get away with things like this most recently Ray rice and Brandon Marshall in the NFL had similar situations...that doesn't make it right of course but I still say ferry and bud should look deeper into lances situations and then make a decision rather than just passing him up. I understand @Dolfan23 how many can hate this dude based off those actions though....if they are all true. I read somewhere that shaq use to rape women during his prime but paid them off to keep quite. I'm not so sure I'm going to pass a chance to sign an elite defender at 23 without getting ALL the facts first.
  11. Did lance put his hands on a woman or child?
  12. Let me put it like this...usually there's something a team is going to have to deal with. For years we had to deal with smiths terrible shot selection but most wanted to keep him cause at one point he was a great rim protector. The kings have to deal with Cousins who's also immature like lance but because centers like cousins are so extinct of course they are keeping him. All I'm saying is that Lance play surpasses his little antics by far and if that's all you got to deal with that's nothing. The pacers chemistry problems didn't start with lance it started with bird trading granger. So what lance got into a fight with turner! These things happen often and clearly the pacers organization don't know how to keep it in house! I'm sure Bruce Bowen, Avery Johnson and some others got into it with their teammates during practice too. Probably Rodman, Pippen too because the all time great MJ was an asshole.
  13. @Dolfan23 Well look dolf...ferry and bud ain't stupid. I'm just giving a fans observation on how I view the troubled lance Stephenson and just kinda making a point that guys like lance can be on championship teams! I mean I have seen Rodman and Artest do worse and call me crazy but if they were young in their prime and I'm gm I would take their crazy asses today just like I would gamble on lance. But there's nothing for hawk fans to worry about I'm sure ferry/bud won't risk money on a guy like lance, again I'm just putting in my 2cents on the guy. To me lance is an elite defender, who will make everyone especially DMC a better defender as well and we will have a better overall team defensively in a major way.
  14. Mavs took a gamble....I feel like the hawks can take a gamble and get the best out of lance. Lance don't respect Vogel but he respects Bird though he disobeyed him (I guess)....bird asked him not to blow in Lebrons ear anymore and he didn't. Everybody see lance as not being mature and so do I to a certain extent but on the flip side he also has more balls than 95% of the people that face off against lebron! Not because he blew in his ear but because he never backs down. Ferry/Bud are going to make the right decision. I'm just saying "hey guys there's a 23 year old elite defender in free agency that's unrestricted and has traits of Rodman/Artest in free agency" If ferry/bud feel like they can handle it like the mavs did with Ellis I'm sure they will go after him.
  15. @Dolfan23 Naw dolf it's just that there's and elite very young perimeter defender in free agency who is unrestricted and well worth 10m. Just saying maybe ferry should really investigate in his so called off court issues and take a look at the guy...
  16. This deserves it's own thread! I trust ferry and bud will take care of the defense issues but I wonder if these stand up guys are looking at lance or not regardless of off court problems. 1. Hawks have a defense problem not just around the goal but on the perimeter. 2. Like lance or not he's an elite defender. 3. Lance is an unrestricted 23 year old elite defender Are character issues really that big of a concern to pass up an elite defensive talent like this?...I see why hawk fans would say no if woody or LD was still the head coach but coach bud can control this guys ego in opinion.
  17. I figured someone would say that...I'm not against swapping Irving/curry or Teague/Lowry
  18. This is my top 10.... 1. Tony Parker 2. Russell Westbrook 3. Damian Lillard 4. Chris Paul 5. Kyrie Irving 6. Steph Curry 7. Kyle Lowry 8. Jeff Teague 9. John Wall 10.Deron Williams Parker is the best PG in the league no question. If not Parker Westbrook then CP3. Wall is not a top 5 PG...in fact he has more flaws in his game than Teague. Also if we compare playoffs Teague was way better than wall and it's no argument. Speaking of Teague him and Lowry are really equal in my opinion. Last I agree with everyone else that deron is on the downfall in a major way.
  19. I don't know squat about bebe other than what you guys are telling me however I have seen some highlights and the guy can really run the floor for a 7 footer! That's intriguing to me that he can play in a fast pace offense and keep up with guards! Maybe I'm crazy but I think his speed alone can impact the NBA right now...chase down blocks, fast break points, weak side defense will be his signature weapons probably. I do think he will struggle in half court because of his size though but luckily there aren't many scoring centers.
  20. Pipe dream of course!...however I wouldn't be shocked if the rumor did have legs not because I want it to but because in Cleveland's case they need to make the playoffs or kyrie will likely walk next off season and they want to entertain the idea of bringing back lebron. To do either one they need veteran all star talent regardless and right now! Assuming the rumors are true: -Cavs want love....... but I doubt love is traded before the next season. It isn't likely to happen. - Cavs want Aldrige......yeah to get Alridge they would have to include kyrie who the blazers don't need! And the number 1 pick to the blazers seem like a waste of time since LA looked like a bonafide superstar against the loaded rockets. -Cavs want Noah......bulls aren't giving up their defense player of the year and anchor of the defense. -Cavs want horford......very possible trade.
  21. Yeah we need that athletic wing that can slash and finish above the rim. ....and shoot ...and play defense! Lol
  22. These are my thoughts as well. Unfortunately I think ferry is going to have to gamble too eventually as I still don't think Atlanta is on that level yet to bring in marquee free agents, however I think coach buds style has made Atlanta look more appealing than ever it's still not enough to bring in a big name star so why not try and draft one and just let coach bud develop him. But ferry/bud are hard to really get what they are going to do when it comes to the draft! They could see a potential star at 15.
  23. Lol you guys are bringing that argument to this thread now! Lmao But seriously bebe's weight isn't concerning me. I say bring him over and let's see what he can do. Also I just don't think bebe can gain a lot of weight looking at his body frame...I think the guy is meant to be skinny like a KG.
  24. Ok I like that....if he reaches full potential he's the next Noah...I can get on board with that only bad thing is that if he takes 2-4 years for him to reach that level (if he reaches that level) we will need another PF soon by that time as horford will be 30 or 31 if he resigns in two years that is.
  25. Good to know....what else you guys got? Anybody actually have a chance to watch him overseas? Isn't he friends with Dwight Howard? I ask cause I was wondering what other players think about him. (Not that it matters)
