If Ariza is as much as you guys think he will be, around 9-11 mil then I say we pass. Same goes for hawes...as much as I would like to add him to our big man rotation if we can't get him for 6-8 mil then we just have to pass. Now I don't see Ariza or hawes making over 8mil but this is the nba where crazy things happen. Hill on the other hand probably can be had for 4-5 mil, I think. Oh and yes bring on the average players that fit the team and will look like very good players once put in coach buds system! Woooo!!!

I really don't see hawes being all that expensive but if he does get a crazy offer as much as I want him I don't agree with the hawks giving him a crazy high paying contract to match other team offers.

Look man if Dennis is the true stud y'all think he is I expect Teague to be traded this off season if it's that clear. I will leave it at that. There shouldn't be too much argument from those of you who fell in love with Dennis cause if he's really truly that great he's going to be starter next season and you guys shouldn't have to get on hawksquawk to argue it if you truly believed it. The fact is that you don't believe Dennis is going to start next season but because you despise Teague you want other fellow squawkers to despise Teague as well and fall into this dream that we won't know about until 3 or 4 years from now.

Did you watch the same season as the rest of us?! Mack was our best pg for atleast 2 months at one point in the season! What the hell are you talking about? Dennis barely played...so what evidence do you have to backup your statement! When everybody was down on Teague, hawk fans were begging for bud to put in Dennis for solid minutes and he never did! Again did you watch the same season as the rest of us or is your heart so caught up in wanting Dennis to be the next great hawk, it has blinded you from reality?

I will believe you once ferry makes the trade Jeff for the #8 seed cause then it will justify your statement of Dennis being a stud. However because ferry played with one of the best nba franchises or should say the recent best nba franchise to develop talent (San Antonio spurs) and because coach bud has been coach pops top assistant for 17 years....I'm not going to believe what any fan or media analyst say about Dennis being a stud until I hear it from the guys that work directly with him. If Dennis is truly a stud and being that you are so sure about it...I expect ferry and bud to know it as much as you do since they do have a higher iq of the nba game than us fans and to trade Teague for more weapons if Dennis is truly this stud.

All I know is that it's foolish to even consider trading Teague when Dennis isn't even developed into starter duty yet. After Teague showed this aggressiveness consistently through the last month and playoffs I rather see what he can do a full year than to trade him.

THIS.... I don't know what the hell my main man nbasupe is saying but by reading his comments he clearly dislike Teague no matter how much teague improves. I like Dennis but man Dennis isn't going to be ready until another 3 years in my opinion and like someone already mentioned going to the playoffs is important to the guys running this franchise now. Teague is 25 and still improving. I told everybody this last off season "put talent around Teague and he's a 18/10 pg" but have no talent around him he's an inconsistent 16/5 pg. You may not like that Teague can't perform at his best without talent around him but he is who he is and everybody need a team around them to be better. For all the good potential Dennis have...if he isn't developed right than he's a nobody in the future. The kings have not shown a great ability to develop talent over the years and if they were to get Dennis it's fair to say that he may not become much of anything in Sacramento. However if Dennis stays in Atlanta complete different story! I honestly think coach bud can develop and outcoach any of the eastern conference teams and at least half of the western conference. This rumor seems legit so it may have legs, judging the kings development of past draftees.

I can see ferry gambling on a 25 year old big that has center size, ability to score in the post, ability to grab 10 rebounds per game, ability to improve his defense with good coaching and ability to be a 17/10 guy oppose to gambling on someone like asik who is 28, has some injury problems, offensely limited, and a rebound machine. I didn't include defense for neither one because defense is a team thing! I don't care if Monroe or Asik got 10 blocks a game if the rest of the team is allowing their man to score it means nothing! Monroe is younger and a better gamble than asik and other avalible centers

Like I said...if this happens I'm cool with it as long as we don't trade sap. But I will say you guys really ignore the offense side of the ball when asik is in the game...so much that it's amazing! But hey I can roll with it but as soon as we need some offense and defense in late stretches I wouldn't be surprise if sap is put in over asik or at the 3. I guess my biggest thing about adding asik is just that...in the situation we need both offense and defense in the game, what lineup is bud going to turn to? Will sap be on the bench? How about asik riding the bench when it really matters? Or will both be in the game? That's a huge question that should be answered before making such a move for asik.

Only problem is pau will want to start and he's old. I rather we get a younger guy. However asik will want to start too but like dolf said it wouldn't matter if we traded for him. Hawes probably wants to start but more than anything he wants to win. You can get away with hawes being on the bench as long as he's in a winning situation. I don't like asik coming here because of his limited offense. To me hawes is the perfect center or Monroe can be molded to be our perfect center for this team.

Yeah well I think it's weird that Miami took only 12 free throws in that game. Don't get me wrong I want Miami to lose but I don't really like the pacers either. But to see the refs only give Miami 12 free throws is huge! I mean lebron has been avg 10 so far! I think refs give a lot of favoritism as we know and I'm sure next game free throws will be more even or more Miami probably. Last thing....if bosh can hit his open 3s that will change this series big time! Bosh is the X factor...the pacers basically dared him to shoot and he didn't make them pay. I'm telling you guys...shooters vs the pacers equal disaster for the pacers. If I'm spoelstra I wouldn't worry about any inside shots when you have lebron and wade attacking the paint.

I just don't see it. I only give asik props for his outstanding rebounds. I mean I will admit...if you give asik 30 minutes a game he could avg 13rebs per game that I will give you asik lovers. But to gamble on asik when he will only be needed against bigger centers is a waste to me. Why are we ignoring offense so much when it comes to asik? Let's say asik makes us the number 1 defense in the nba. Well if asik did that for our team that means he will be starting and if he's starting sap is on the bench with less minutes. So that means Teague and horford offensive duties become even more of a need as if they are Parker and Duncan now. That just doesn't work. Asik is an 8pt guy and it's not time to put Teague and horford in that kind if situation. I'm only for asik if he can drop 10-14 pts a game along with the rebounds. You will be lucky to get 10pts out if asik. All in all I think we should go after Monroe if we are going to gamble! Monroe can be molded into a 17/10 guy like horford except he do it in the post.

Of course they rather unload smith than Monroe but what franchise is dumb enough to take on smiths ridiculous contract?! This is a lot different than the joe Johnson huge contract. Johnson was actually good just not good enough to make 20mil a year. Smith on the other hand is a bonehead that could be good but is too stupid to realize his potential and he's a 10 year vet now still taking long 2s that opposing teams want him to take cause he continues to miss them. I honestly think smith is done and I'm glad the hawks got rid of him when they could. If Gundy can unload smith I'm ready to give him nba president of the year award or whatever the nba call it.

Agreed but ferry can't take care of all out needs in one off season, nor can he control what's available during the off season. Personally I think getting a slasher is more important than anything. But at the same time I see more BIGs this off season that we can actually get unlike next off season. I say grab your center you want then draft that slashing wing you want. Centers are harder to find by the way especially one like Monroe who has a lot of upside.

I feel that after two off seasons of having great negotiations with players and signing fantastic contracts....that will continue for ferry. But at some point I feel that ferry is going to gamble or take a risk....and as hawk fans I'm not too sure if we can blame him if he takes that risk, that gamble, that move that half the board will love and half will hate. Who is that gamble, that risk, that player?....I think it is none other than Greg Monroe himself. What's ferrys reason for gambling?.....Well we need another serviceable big just like we need a slashing sg/sf. Both are needs. Why gamble on Monroe over others such as asik or love?....I don't believe ferry wants an asik type center because his offense production does nothing for us and I don't believe ferry will trade the whole team for Love cause that's what it will take! So why is Monroe at the top of this list on who to gamble on?...there's a lot of factors that go into this. For one lets not get overly hyped about having cap next off season when there our plenty of good players in free agency. As a hawks fan I'm not saying lose faith but to think we have a real shot at marquee free agents just because we have some money is absurd! Did you not see what happen last off season? Point number two Monroe has the ability to be a 17/10 guy similar to Al Horford except he has better size. Point number 3 Monroe is 24 or 25 and can be molded to ferry/bud liking. Keep in mind this is just a prediction if ferry is going after a Center he wants to start. I believe Gundy will do his best to trade Monroe and if he can't he will just let him walk. No way Gundy goes into the next 3-5 years with smith,Monroe, and Drummond for his front court!....it's just not a smart plan and Gundy isn't stupid enough to do it. He knows smith is immovable so Monroe is the piece that has to go.

Hmmm I don't know what to say about this. Not sure if I would rent kevin love just for one season for him to leave the hawks the next off season. However on the other hand if we grab love and put a really good team on the court around him, there is a possibility he will stay due to a deep playoff run and him buying into coach buds system! It's a big risk but maybe it's worth it! But others are right we don't have the assets to get him...I don't think.

Good points....but we can move DMC to SG and find a SF that can rebound pretty well before we find a SG that can rebound well outside of Lance. This probably can be easily fixed! There are plenty of options at SF that can rebound pretty well.
