    Which SF We Need

Again I rather we get Ariza than any other SF including melo! I'm not huge on an injured Danny Granger and I would take Rudy Gay but I honestly think the guy wants to go back the kings with cousins believe that or not. Ariza....like I said I didn't think we could get him because I honestly thought the wizards would beat the pacers but now that they are down 3-1 and more importantly that their offense is very very bad I can honestly see him as a free agent the hawks can really get. I didn't believe that just 1-2 weeks ago though.
  2. By the way I rather have Ariza who I thought was no way possible to get but now I see that he possibly would leave the wizards than injured Danny granger.
  3. But honestly gortat isn't playing good defense against Hibbert. Hibbert seems more discombobulated when he worries on the defensive end cause he can't close out on bigs that can shoot. You have to think that making a true center play on the perimeter will definitely break their confidence...because defense is what they do best! If Hibbert as well as any true center is worried about their man on the perimeter and they are constantly stepping out on the perimeter then their best abilities to rebound and protect the rim our gone. Unless you guys are saying we need a rim protector more so because of quick guards and not true centers...that's the only thing that makes sense to me. Personally I think if you keep a true center around the goal ALL game that does nothing but makes him more and more comfortable throughout the game.
  4. I'm watching gortat and nene basically two true centers in a wizards starting lineup that can't get it done, yet so many want gortat....I honestly don't get why! Ya know I want a true center too but I rather have one off the bench to throw in against big body centers like Hibbert. Other than that I like the coach bud strategy to spread the true center away from the goal that way his best abilities are taken away from him cause most true centers aren't good offensive players. For all the want for a true center the wizards vs pacers series should change your thoughts. A true center like Hibbert constantly around the goal on both ends will do nothing but motivate him and make him comfortable. I would like a player like hawes as you know but honestly I just want to make sure horford stays starting at center as I see it as a benefit for the hawks to spread the floor. Horford would do better than nene and gortat at center against Hibbert and you can bank on that cause we've seen him do it.
  5. Really?....interesting! I wonder who these free agents are? I hope this is true.
  6. Sounds good but I don't see us getting afflalo or gortat but I do like it.
  7. Exactly so why would the magic give that good contract up?
  8. Hate to say it but I knew this. You can tell that ferry and bud wants better 3 ball guys (spurs like) and it's one of the many reasons I think ferry will go after hawes. Also if there's a possible trade for someone like Aaron afflao I can see that happening as well.
  9. There probably won't be but I do believe there will be a winning move as far as bringing in more talent to fit our team and make is better next year! For example spencer hawes ( I know, I know there goes that name again) may not be a major move but he would be a winning move because we are now giving bud a legit starting big that can knock down the 3 consistently unlike Pero. Wheather he starts or not is up to bud...really it doesn't matter cause horford can hold his own in paint on most centers but just to be able to give bud that option of having a very very decent big that can constantly knock down the 3 ball is a worthy pickup and great option for coach bud.
  10. Lol not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but I only said 8m cause I believe he's at that about now and also I believe a team is going to look pass his flaws in Indiana and give him a shot with deal worth around 8-9.5 mil...which Indiana probably won't match cause they want lance back more than turner.
  11. Sanders is a head ache and he's only been good 1 year....gotta give us more than just sanders and a worthless future draft pick in my opinion. But I look a draft picks in the nba a waste unlike the nfl so I may be too harsh here.
  12. Ok I will explain.... Ariza is 28 and a major reason they have made it this far in the second round. Not to mention their best perimeter defender. Washington just got back in the playoffs. I don't think their ready to depend on porter or singleton to do what Ariza does for them on a nightly basis. I can easily see Washington getting Ariza back.
  13. I don't mean to be cold blooded but I really want to start seeing post of free agents that the hawks actually have a shot at getting! When I was going through my Spencer Hawes phase, sure I was getting on everybody's damn nerves but at least Hawes is a REAL target and possibility to come here! We have posters talking about bringing in Patty Mills or Gortat (not to crack on Diesel) and Im thinking…... -why the hell would Patty Mills leave the spurs bench to play with the hawks bench? when you can answer that with something that makes sense then we can really think about bringing him over. -then theres that so called "true center" gortat that we all want but why the hell would gortat leave washington? a place he's having much success and is still in the playoffs as we speak. Heres a list from another poster (forgot who…sorry) of targets that probably won't happen though we would love to see some of them here: My targets: Attacking wings 1. Danny Granger- not happening 2. Rudy Gayr- not happening 3. Gordon Haywardr- not happening 4. Lance Stephenson- I will give it a maybe but likely not going to happen 5. Rodney Stuckey-I would say we can get him 6. Nick Young-I will give it a maybe but I think he rather stay in LA Shooting/Defensive wings 1. Thabo Sefolosha-Maybe but then again I say no! He's the best defense perimeter guy OKC has! 2. Trevor Arizar- not happening 3. Jodie Meeks-Another maybe guy! I can actually see this one happening but its hard to persuade a guy to leave from LA even when they are losing. 4. CJ Milesr- not happening 5. Marvin Williams- not happening…because we don't want him back! Of course there's more free agents out there not on this list that we probably can't get but would love to have but my point is that we need to try to be realistic! I may have went Spencer Hawes crazy at one point but I know we can get him if Ferry really wanted him…thats an example of a REAL target. Some of these guys that are being mentioned, though they may be unrestricted free agents aren't real targets! By the way as far as restricted free agents go I see only 2 free agents we have a shot at……. -Evan Turner- because the pacers don't have a lot of money and they want Lance back more than Turner, its probably easy to snatch up Turner if you want to pay him about 8m. -Greg Monroe-because Ferry has ties with Monroes agent who was his former agent, we may get something done there. Also because the pistons are in a money situation now too and its best to put Smith back at PF after the SF experiment failed for them. But I believe thats it…we have no chance at any other RESTRICTED free agent but don't hold me to that, I can be honest and say I need to look over the free agency one last time.
  14. And to add there aren't a lot of center OPTIONS either. We may be able to get Monroe because of ferrys ties with his former agent but he's still a restricted free agent this off season and we probably can get hawes no problem cause of many reasons that I don't need to explain but it's all up to ferry. Guys like gortat though they may be unrestricted, aren't REAL targets for ferry and the squawk need to realize that.
  15. I say bring him over but I actually see something more special in muscala and I think he needs the playing time to really show his skills.
  16. Exactly...we have three 17 points a game players in Teague, Sap, Horford...best thing to do is build around those 3 with better role players. Also Teague is a good talent that could be a great talent with better role players around him! I've said that before....put a team around Teague and he will become a thorn in opposing defenses ass night in and out. One thing Teague has proven is that he can penetrate on ANY player and as long as he can get to the goal the team has a chance at being a very very good offense.
  17. I find that hard to believe....lol not trying to bring anyone down but those rumors are going to need some serious legs!
  18. Agreed....I hope the squawk start to realize that. Ferry can only do so much.
  19. The problem with the thought of trading away sap or horford or both is not having a bonafide scorer. Not to say they are but when you don't have that lebron, melo, wade, kobe, type player you have to be careful with what you give up. Now you all keep up with the hawks as much as I do so I'm only mentioning it because I see post where people are involving one of the two or both in a trade and again because we don't have a bonafide, all day everyday, for SURE 20 point scorer I find it hard for Ferrry to trade these two or even involve them. Unless the trades you guys come up with involves the hawks getting back a 17-20 point scorer type that's like horford or sap..... it ain't or shouldn't happen.
  20. This! Ya know I thought about it a little more and though Monroe doesn't really play like a PF. He did grab 10 rebounds, he did put up 15 pts with a fg% of 49 and thats NOT by shooting ALL jumpers as his jump shot percentage isn't even at average I believe, and to top it off the guy is a legit center size that has a frame to actually become larger. So if Ferry wants to try this guy out at center….Im all for it! I think what scares hawk fans is that Monroe isn't really known to be a banger but that doesn't mean he can't be a banger in the paint like a gortat, asik, or nene. We have nothing to lose if we can get him to be honest….Sap may have to come off the bench and play that ginobli role but as a big man.
  21. Sorry guys but I hate the trade!...parsons can't drop 20 when needed like sap and even sap isn't a bonafide 20 point scorer so why take parsons? A guy who doesn't have the same overall offensive talent as sap? Why give them DMC now? He improved big time, I say keep him.
  22. I agree! This is a guy who plays like a pf but has a center body! I don't see how that fixes our rebounding or rim protecting issues. However just because doesn't play like a traditional center doesn't meant the hawks won't try to use him as one....lol
  23. Exactly and what we hawk fans need to start realizing is that is not that sap and horford or even Jeff Teague can't be replaced it's who are you going to replace them with?...especially when we start looking at all around game! For example Gortat & Asik are more fitting true centers but when we talk about overall game horford is better than a lot of these so called true centers. So if we have to lose horford his replacement need to be someone who can actually be better than him! Not just someone that can protect the rim cause he's tall or get a bunch of boards but can't score for shit! Milsap same thing...unless we are getting kevin love, milsap will be a keeper. Teagues recent emergence will keep him on the team for now. I have realized that it's not always about height and size. It's about heart, hustle, and wheather or not the team is buying in the coach scheme as well as learning to trust each other. And last just because I want to get this out there...Horford can complain all he wants, no matter what he says he's a big man that can play center and play it damn good! Ferry and bud knows that and more than likely he will remain a center like it or not. I'm sure bud will make changes if necessary against bigger centers.
  24. Lol ok no arguments there....I agree! Lol But ya know I don't recall him jab stepping too much when he was playing this year. Maybe coach bud already got to him about this or maybe I'm wrong....don't really remember
  25. How about this....we are slashing SG away from being real contenders in my opinion. Pg- Teague is emerging into all star quality. Sg- is a draft pick away from having a legit contender on the court. With the ability to bring sharp shooter Korver off the bench. Sf-DMC is an above average defender on the perimeter and he has developed the ability to knock down the 3 ball! and he can avg 7 Rebs a game. Pf-Sap is a legit all star player now and from his speed to his newly 3 ball talent to his crafty low post moves we aren't going to find a better pf on the market. C- horford is still a top 10 center even though he's smaller, and we all know the 17/10 Big can bring it and stay consistent. Yeah maybe I am crazy but there's no improving Sap and Horford positions on this team unless we get a star like Kevin love. For some odd reason I don't worry too much about true centers anymore because of coach bud knowing how to adjust and DMC who will usually fight and get Rebs to help. Yeah if we got lance from the pacers he might just be worth it...and by that I mean worth the BIG money.
