  1. I find that hard to believe....lol not trying to bring anyone down but those rumors are going to need some serious legs!
  2. Agreed....I hope the squawk start to realize that. Ferry can only do so much.
  3. The problem with the thought of trading away sap or horford or both is not having a bonafide scorer. Not to say they are but when you don't have that lebron, melo, wade, kobe, type player you have to be careful with what you give up. Now you all keep up with the hawks as much as I do so I'm only mentioning it because I see post where people are involving one of the two or both in a trade and again because we don't have a bonafide, all day everyday, for SURE 20 point scorer I find it hard for Ferrry to trade these two or even involve them. Unless the trades you guys come up with involves the hawks getting back a 17-20 point scorer type that's like horford or sap..... it ain't or shouldn't happen.
  4. This! Ya know I thought about it a little more and though Monroe doesn't really play like a PF. He did grab 10 rebounds, he did put up 15 pts with a fg% of 49 and thats NOT by shooting ALL jumpers as his jump shot percentage isn't even at average I believe, and to top it off the guy is a legit center size that has a frame to actually become larger. So if Ferry wants to try this guy out at center….Im all for it! I think what scares hawk fans is that Monroe isn't really known to be a banger but that doesn't mean he can't be a banger in the paint like a gortat, asik, or nene. We have nothing to lose if we can get him to be honest….Sap may have to come off the bench and play that ginobli role but as a big man.
  5. Sorry guys but I hate the trade!...parsons can't drop 20 when needed like sap and even sap isn't a bonafide 20 point scorer so why take parsons? A guy who doesn't have the same overall offensive talent as sap? Why give them DMC now? He improved big time, I say keep him.
  6. I agree! This is a guy who plays like a pf but has a center body! I don't see how that fixes our rebounding or rim protecting issues. However just because doesn't play like a traditional center doesn't meant the hawks won't try to use him as one....lol
  7. Exactly and what we hawk fans need to start realizing is that is not that sap and horford or even Jeff Teague can't be replaced it's who are you going to replace them with?...especially when we start looking at all around game! For example Gortat & Asik are more fitting true centers but when we talk about overall game horford is better than a lot of these so called true centers. So if we have to lose horford his replacement need to be someone who can actually be better than him! Not just someone that can protect the rim cause he's tall or get a bunch of boards but can't score for shit! Milsap same thing...unless we are getting kevin love, milsap will be a keeper. Teagues recent emergence will keep him on the team for now. I have realized that it's not always about height and size. It's about heart, hustle, and wheather or not the team is buying in the coach scheme as well as learning to trust each other. And last just because I want to get this out there...Horford can complain all he wants, no matter what he says he's a big man that can play center and play it damn good! Ferry and bud knows that and more than likely he will remain a center like it or not. I'm sure bud will make changes if necessary against bigger centers.
  8. Lol ok no arguments there....I agree! Lol But ya know I don't recall him jab stepping too much when he was playing this year. Maybe coach bud already got to him about this or maybe I'm wrong....don't really remember
  9. How about this....we are slashing SG away from being real contenders in my opinion. Pg- Teague is emerging into all star quality. Sg- is a draft pick away from having a legit contender on the court. With the ability to bring sharp shooter Korver off the bench. Sf-DMC is an above average defender on the perimeter and he has developed the ability to knock down the 3 ball! and he can avg 7 Rebs a game. Pf-Sap is a legit all star player now and from his speed to his newly 3 ball talent to his crafty low post moves we aren't going to find a better pf on the market. C- horford is still a top 10 center even though he's smaller, and we all know the 17/10 Big can bring it and stay consistent. Yeah maybe I am crazy but there's no improving Sap and Horford positions on this team unless we get a star like Kevin love. For some odd reason I don't worry too much about true centers anymore because of coach bud knowing how to adjust and DMC who will usually fight and get Rebs to help. Yeah if we got lance from the pacers he might just be worth it...and by that I mean worth the BIG money.

    Game 7.

Also let's add that if the game is close in the end make sure Teague has the ball in his hands! And if a inbound play need to be drawn up on a last second shot lets pray coach bud can make his team understand the play! Now let's get out there and win hawks!
  11. Well I'm not saying he should camp around the 3pt line...just have the ability to hit it when the opportunity is there. Other than that like I said yeah they need to focus more on his post game.
  12. Very interesting article I just came across: http://hawkshoop.com/why-al-horford-should-start-shooting-3s/
  13. Hmmmm…. I wasn't aware of any of this. Never knew Al said that he can shoot the 3 but just chooses not too. Interesting, well if all that is true this thread is officially a waste!
  14. Really? I understand that he can hit a 3 (he's a good shooter) but did he really show off his 3 ball talent cause thats something I know I probably would remember.
  15. While we are eagerly waiting for game 7, I was wondering if our center Al Horford should develop the 3pt shot over the off season like Milsap did last off season? Why do I ask? Because of Spencer Hawes!!!..of course!! LOL no honestly now that I look at it I wanted Hawes but it will not make this team better due to sap being at sf or off the bench, so Im over the Spencer Hawes stuff! (would still be a nice backup center though) However my point of wanting our BIGS (PF,C) to be able to hit the 3 ball still makes a ton of sense and I wouldn't mention it if I didn't think it could be done. Two HUGE things Sap's newly 3 ball skill set has done for this team? -when heathy horford get more one on one opportunities in the post and won't have to worry about help defense coming over very often because the floor is spread and when it does come we have 4 guys that can knock down the 3 ball he can kick it to. -Teague's Penetration!…the less crowed the paint, the more Teague will score back to back to back to back……. -IN OTHER WORDS THE LANE IS WIDE OPEN So unlike Pero, Horford is a consistent shooter and unlike Hawes, horford can play good defense and rebound very well. So what if our 2 time all star center develops the 3 ball skill set? What does that do for the team? -Milsap will have more one on one opportunities in the post. -Teague will have more opportunities to score at will -Horford will take away that so called true center from doing what he does best in rebounding and protecting the rim. -If we draft or pick up a slashing SG, he will have more opportunities at the goal to score. Now Im not saying... -horford should start taking five 3's a game! maybe more like 1-2 per game shall he develop the 3 ball. Horford should still be mainly used as a post and mid range shooter but if he develop the 3 ball he can really spread the floor and help his penetrating teammates like Teague see more open lanes and sap see many one on one post up opportunities without the help defense, and possibly make defenses play smaller against us. What do you think? Give me your honest opinion.
  16. Teague Series: 19.8 ppg 5.3 apg 3.8 rebs Milsap Series : 20.2 ppg and 9.8 rebs Man that is great I don't care what the haters say these guys stepped up against the NBA's number 1 defense. I'm proud and this is something Ferry/Bud can continue to build on to. Imagine if horford could have played! We would have an extra man out there that is consistent, able to drop 17-20 pts a game, and grab 8-10 rebs a game. Our future is very bright! I see why Ferry/Bud always say "I like our team…"
  17. You may have answered my question on why Teague is playing so much off ball and not attacking as much when Paul george is on him. If what you say is true, its a good strategy from coach bud but at some point you have to realize that your team isn't consistent enough on the offense end and your best player need to do more in the scoring department.
  18. Very true, all facts no hate BUT when I see Bud's scheme being ran on the court a lot of times Teague goes up the court and passes the ball to whoever at the top of the ark and the play starts. It just seem to me that Bud has to take some blame for this because it seems like he has told teague to play more off ball than with the ball especially when Paul George is guarding him. But Im with you I WANT MORE Jeff Teague attacking this team as much as possible throughout the WHOLE game but I think its more coach bud's scheme than it is Jeff….just my opinion.

    Pero sucks as......

Don't forget to blame coach bud for those awful inbound plays he draws up! LOL by the way you make a good point, it seems to me that when the game get close the ball isn't in Teague or Saps hands. I don't get that at all, if we are going to lose I want our best players losing the game for us not the role players. Buds gotta change that!

    Pero sucks as......

Well its about time somebody actually made a good point! Maybe I would have stopped posting about Spencer Hawes long time ago! Im not so concerned about Saps defense against other 3's and I know he could probably post most SF's up and score but I never once thought about his speed advantage he has the PF position to get around probably most PF's. With that said I still want Spencer Hawes and I think ferry should get rid of Lou (who don't fit the team) and Pero (who I like but isn't consistent enough to be effective) to make it happen. Hawes off the bench for horford would be great.

    Pero sucks as......

Hey I agree, but all Im saying is that I like the idea of taking the so called true center out the game when you have 5 that can hit a 3. Problem is that Pero isn't consistent enough for this and if anything I would let Pero walk and get rid of Lou since he doesn't fit the system anyways and sign Spencer Hawes as either a starter or on the bench. Either way its an upgrade to the team since we don't need both Pero and Hawes. I completely agree that we need another slasher like Teague cause again Lou doesn't fit and he's one of the reasons the ball movement stopped late in the 4th quarter. While Lou's iso ability is great, he just doesn't fit Bud's scheme.

    Pero sucks as......

Sap had 5 fouls he was obviously trying not foul out when guarding west at the end of the game.

    Pero sucks as......

Lol how am I comical...I'm just being realistic...where are you going to find a closer? There are no closers that the hawks can get in the free agency.
  24. JTB

    Pero sucks as......

That's true but coach bud has also found a way where true centers can't hurt us! Most true centers in the nba today are rebounders and rim protectors and every blue moon you might run into one of the five 20 point scoring centers and that' when the trouble starts but hey you can't have a perfect team. But what about the other true centers that can't score very well like Hibbert how will they be effective if we can continue to take away their best skill set in rebounding and protecting the rim when they are guarding our guys on the perimeter?....exactly they can't be effective and that's what we want.

    Pero sucks as......

Why should hawes be a backup he's a good starter. This nba league don't have a bunch of scary centers to force hawes to the bench of any team. To me he's worth every dime.
