  1. Lol I said they were good...I was just making the point that the rockets where suppose to be better than them
  2. Im for this but it's hard to see lance, Rudy gay, or Arron afflalo coming here.
  3. I agree I don't really think the SF is the problem it's the SG position! However I don't see the big deal in moving DMC or whatever athletic SG we hope to pickup to SG or SF. Say we get Rudy Gay for example. I would start Rudy at SG or at SF or I would start DMC at SG or at SF don't matter there aren't that many speedy quick SGs to worry about and if they can truly defend on the perimeter there shouldn't be any worries. Last say we play the heat, with this lineup...I would use a bit of a zen master strategy and have Rudy gay whose the better offensive player between him and DMC always guard the lesser offensive talent against teams. In this case that would be wade not as good as lebron on the offense end : Pg-Teague Sg-Rudy Gay Sf-DMC Pf-Sap C-Horford Then maybe say we play the nets....using the same lineup I would simply switch DMC to guard joe Johnson who's offensively better than Paul pierce at this stage in their careers and gay would be on pierce this game: Pg-Teague Sg-DMC Sf-Rudy Gay Pf-Sap C-horford Was just using Rudy gay as an example to let those of you know that we can get a SF and put him at SG too. As long as he can handle the ball we should be ok. Nothing changes on the offense end with coach bud no matter the players. Defensively we will see changes based on player matchup.
  4. Works for me! Probably won't happen but I would do it.
  5. Oh that blazers team that lost 4-1 against the spurs? Blazers are good yes but Houston is in win now mode...sorry but no excuses for Houston's pathetic playoff performances.
  6. Lol looks to me that Teague is the actual future piece. Dennis don't even look like he's ready for quality backup minutes right now. Teague is expected to run this team the next 3-4 years and he may do it at an high level judging his end season performances.
  7. Hell no! Tough shit deron! Cp3 will say the same thing next year we they go out the 2nd round again for the 6th straight year! Should have thought twice before resigning is what I say.
  8. I think Wesley Johnson is done. I think the days in Timberville may have screwed his nba career up to a point where it can't be undone....but I've been wrong before.
  9. I agree with this! Or we can just get hawes for a 2 year 14/16 mil contract. Lol Regardless asik ain't fixing all the problems! In fact offensively he creates more problems.
  10. Just don't trade sap! Sap quick off the bench if the deal goes down and should avg around 28-33 minutes a game...I'm cool with whatever! Hell if we can get a athletic SG and bring Korver off the bench too we would really be on the rise!
  11. I guess I'm crazy. I want to keep Pero
  12. As long as milsap isn't traded to do it! I'm fine. I say take on Asiks contract, get rid of Lou, Martin, maybe Mack and sign Xavier Henry and CJ Miles if all that is possible anyways. I don't see the problem with taking on Asik contract. It's only for a year and we won't be completely handicapped cause we could still trade sap/horford/asik during the season if we need to.
  13. I'm officially on the Xavier Henry and CJ Miles bandwagon! If we signed these two next year we would instantly be a better team. Henry is only 23! Plays good defense and bud can probably mold him into a Kwahi Leonard type! I would love if this happens all while DMC is still on the bench who will also keep improving! Man oh man those a great pickups and the reason why I don't want to take on a contract like asiks or give one out at that.
  14. I'm hoping we can give up Lou and just take Asiks Salary on if Ferry wants him that bad. Trading Sap would be a mistake but I know ferry knows that or he would have been pulled the trigger. If we had a sure 20 point scorer maybe we wouldn't need sap but nows not the time to be depending on just Teague and horford for points, that will also make korvers job tougher. Anyways I hope we give them Lou and just go into the lux tax a little but for asik. Besides it's only going to be one year so why not try it?...right?
  15. I love watching the dream when I catch them on tv but I don't keep up with them too well. But they are fun to watch fellow squawkers. Believe me!
  16. Here's the rest of it: Sam: "Houston is looking to unload Asik and Lin to make a run at Anthony. I dont think you can move Lin and the $15 million backloaded hes due next season. But you may be able to move Asik, whom Ive already heard several teams, like Atlanta to move Al Horford to four, are pursuing. The Hawks could look pretty good with that front court. Houston likes stars, though Williams hardly qualifies anymore. I see the Nets have trotted out the bad ankle excuse for him again, and hed have broken some 20-yard dash figures the way he ran away from shots in that clinching game against the Heat. With Williams 30 this summer, in steep decline, a bad locker room presence and owed $63 million for the next three years, I dont see how that would help the Rockets as much as it would the Nets." Here's my opinion of this: Go for it! The only reason I say that is because asik has just one more year left on his contract so why not do it and see what happens. BUT DO NOT move Sap to get it done! Just take on asiks salary and I guess sap will come off the bench. I'm cool with Sap off the bench as long as he gets his minutes atleast 28-33 per game and he should stay as an effective player for us. Maybe some time at SF here and there also won't be a bad idea. This is where I am on getting the so called true centers. If we get one then sap will likely come off the bench and play some key minutes at SF. If we got a center that's more offense prone like hawes we can keep the starting lineup we have and rotate sap, horford, hawes at pf and center. (Asik need minutes on the court to be effective in most games and he's not going to help too much on offense)
  17. Definitely agree! Adding lance would make us a top rebounding team with everyone healthy. I even think Rudy gay may can do the same. If Korver can avg atleast one more board.
  18. I like brooks. Seem to have a bit of a confidence issue if you ask me but nothing too bad coach bud can't fix.
  19. The only people I say no to is Brandon rush, Beasley, and Douglas Roberts. I would take any of the other guys. I really like x Henry! The guy can play some defense and his offense has improved well.
  20. Well the spurs rebound as a team better than the hawks rebound as a team. It ain't all Duncan and tiago...diaw, Leonard and others are also busting their tales and providing to that number! We are still trying go build that here in Atlanta. Grabbing a guy like DMC was a great start.
  21. Never said we don't need a BIG. Never said Tim Duncan was a small man. Here's what I said: I said the options you want are a waste of money and do us no good. You want the bigger center who media tells us is a rim protector and rebounder and you want ferry to give this center 10-14 mil! Cause that's what he's surely going to cost! I say hell no! His offense is garbage, rebounding is a TEAM thing, and rim protection is overrated as hell IN TODAYS NBA. I say if we can't get a complete center...and by that I mean a good post offensive player, rebounder, and rim protector all in one. Horford need to continue to start at center. Another thing this hawks team doesn't have a bonafide scorer yet but what we do have is 3 possible all stars that can drop 17pts a game. If we got this big center you want Teague and horford would really have to carry the scoring load. But put hawes there to come off the bench when horford or sap is tired and he can come in provide for the offense (keep the floor spreaded for our slashers) as well as play team defense and team rebounding.
  22. And you are making the point I've been trying to make this whole thread! You showed us that gortat was out rebounded by our what some people would say small c/pf combo and you also showed that our bigs dropped points on gortat no problem. Yet too many people still say we need a bigger center!...makes no sense! If we can't get a upgrade for horford, horford need to stay starting at center. The stats you listed also proves why I rather have a hawes over gortat or any other big that we can get because I gurantee hawes can bring down atleast 8-10 boards on his own all while also being a better offensive player. If gortat or any other center we could get had a good offense post game ability I would change my thoughts but since there is no one out there to fill the role of a complete center I see no reason to give any center all this money like other teams have just because they are bigger and can rebound!...what about offense? We can team rebound with hawes in the lineup! Gortat or other available bigs do nothing but get in the way and provide very little offense.
  23. Not me! We don't go after many offensive boards so this is completely irrelevant to the hawks. Coach bud coaches sharing the ball and efficient scoring on the offense end and getting back on defense more so than going after an offensive rebound. So I don't see your purpose of bringing this up unless your arguing with the way coach bud coaches or I should say the way of the spurs.
  24. Oh ok so he's 25...and he's very likely to get a max deal worth probably between 10-14mil per year....so here's my question(s): Does ferry think Monroe is worth the max? Or would this be another 2nd tier player (as jaybirdhawk put it) gettin a max deal just because of his size? My opinion: Monroe has some positives about himself. He has good size, did rebound well this past season, and he has the ability to play a very good inside offense more so than defense in his case BUT he's a risk at a high deal on the table so I'm still giving hawes the 7-9m 2 year deal and rolling with it.
