  1. Bud got all he could out of a team that most would consider scrubs. But the true scrubs are the past hawk teams woody and LD ran. Players on this hawks team actually developed and got better under Bud. Players on this team actually fought with heart and hustle...you can't say that during the woody/LD era! It's hard to blame bud when he didn't even have horford for a half of the season and still got the team to fight as hard as they could. Bud doesn't deserve a trophy....yet but after one year he's showed us that he can be a fantastic coach for years to come and he will get his talent to prove it.
  2. That's probably true but I think it's important to have a very good big man rotation. I'm not against bringing back brand and having him and hill over hawes I just think hawes and hill on the bench to rotate with horford and sap would be one of the best big man rotations in the nba But you're right it might be too much money to do such a thing.

  4. I guess it's easier for me to accept criticism of the gm and coaching staff after 3 years than it is after just one year.
  5. Agreed...I don't think we need to overpay for an asik type center. I just think we need a serviceable big man rotation! Personally I would like to pick up hawes and hill over getting asik and maybe bringing over bebe and I feel we are set at our Big man rotation. Then draft a slashing wing at 15...but anyways I trust ferry and bud on whatever they decide to do.
  6. I can remember those times watching a game knowing smith was going to get his blocks and the games smith would finish with a thunderous dunk..... And now I done reminiscing...the guy was just too stupid to hold onto but I will say this... I wish josh smith accepted his role as a defender and weak side shot blocker and not try to put so much on trying to become a scorer in this league. Could have been our ibaka! SMH
  7. Here we go...I made a mistake and worded this post wrong. Of course fans can have their own opinion nothing wrong with that but when you are a fan that criticize ferry and buds every move in a negative way that stops being an opinion that you have and more of a "I know more than the 17 year assistant coach that's been running this system for years"....to me opinions are when you throw out a free agent name you want the hawks to pickup or maybe a lineup change you think bud needs to do but many on hawksquawk criticize Bud and ferry for not knowing talent that fit this scheme, not trying to sign talent, not knowing what they are doing in the front office period and that is foolish to me no matter how you put it.

    Evan Turner anyone?

Lol that was my thread the other day...when I heard the "BIG O" say it on nba radio about how he thought it was stupid for coaches to give up on developing a player at the age of 27 and so on... Anyways I didn't know we offered Wesley Johnson a contract. I bet we could get him and Xavier this year if ferry tried.
  9. But was woody under a system of 17 years of success?...No Yeah it's easy to question woody, mike brown, Nate McMillan or any other heavy iso coach cause that BS game plan just doesn't work in the NBA. But you can't question a guy like bud who has seen talent within his own organization develop into stars under a system ran flawlessly against the best of the best. I guess I should have said that outside of coach pop, coach bud is next in line as far as knowing what kind of talent fits this spurs style of basketball and we should just hold judgement until atleast 3 years has passed.
  10. Well obviously if the trade went down it more than likely would be for the reasons you dolf mentioned and I wouldn't question it but I think ferry and bud are still very high on a sap/horford big man combo.
  11. The writer of the article also mentioned Bledsoe...anyone think ferry would actually take a look at him?
  12. I hear ya and can't say I don't agree. Your points are good but like you said we would have to depend even more on horfords inside points with sap gone. Not only that but this past playoffs the sap was fantastic and parsons not so much...saps playoff performance is a big deal when talking about trading him for a player that didn't do so well in the playoffs.
  13. If we can atleast get a slashing wing man who can score between 14-18 points before we pull off such a trade like this. I would be very comfortable doing the trade. Right now saps scoring is still a need! Parsons is an athletic Korver who will drop 12-14 points and asik ain't giving you shit on offense.
  14. This makes me nervous! I don't know about this parsons/asik for DMC/milsap....sap is the best player in the trade by far! Parsons for DMC....fair trade! Parsons is a way better shooter though DMC stepped up his shooting and DMC is a better defender though parson isn't a bad defender at all, DMC is still better....all in all fair trade, in fact parsons I think is younger. The problem is asik for sap...I don't like it! Asik will never be an all star! Sign hawes and bring over bebe or hell sign whatever free agency big you want and bring over bebe...just don't trade sap. I understand it's been talked about but I feel ferry would have pulled the trigger on this deal by now if he wanted it...sooner or later ferry is going to take a huge risk on something I think and maybe this deal will be it.
  15. On Ferry: If you hate ferry because of Cleveland....that's not a good reason. Completely different franchise with a completely different culture. Ferry is trying to bring the spurs system to Atlanta and it's going to take some time. In Cleveland he was under pressure to make lebron happy...I don't care what anybody tells you, some stars run organizations when they aren't happy (lebron was one of them) and not gms! More than likely ferry was pressured to make some kind of move to make lebron and owner Gilbert happy. On Bud: How are we going to judge a 17 year top assistant/right hand man of coach pop who had everything to do with Parker's all star development and the trade for Kwahi Leonard who will be the future franchise player of the spurs! How do hawk fans say I know talent but dismiss the talent ferry and bud go out to bring to ATL? We act like we have been around the NBA longer than these guys? Point is: I think hawk fans think they know talent and what fits the spurs like system better than the two guys we have in one that played in it and one who's coached it for 17 years!...17 years!....17 years!...hawksquawk do you realize how insane that is?! That's like a nba fan going out to text winter (Phil Jackson's top assistant/right hand man)...and telling him that he doesn't know what players fit the triangle offense and he should listen to us instead! That sh*t is crazy from you guys! Ferry and Bud knows talent! More importantly they know spurs talent that fit that particular system...it's not smart to dismiss these guys as if we know better!
  16. Well that's true!....the focus should be to get a slashing wing player period weather he's a SG or SF! That's actually a great thing that works in the hawks favor when looking for that player this off season. 3 things I like about DMC: -his nickname really fits him! The junkyard dog is all hustle, all heart, all effort for 48 minutes. -his defense is solid and can be really good at times! In fact I think he will be very consistent good to great defender all next season with an even more improved jumpshot. -he can play SG or SF or.....PF! He would atleast put up the effort no matter what position you put him at and sometimes effort is enough in this league. (Not saying we should play him at PF by the way....just making a point that the junkyard dog isn't a quitter)
  17. Not being sarcastic when I say this is brilliant! I love it! Only problem is that too many hawk fans wanting afflalo isn't showing me a realistic way of getting him. I mean the guy is on a fantastic contract at 7m why would Orlando give that up? I guess we could trade Lou + filler to get him but would Orlando accept that?
  18. We need a SG that's the biggest need outside of another big man for depth. A slashing SG...man wouldn't it be great if we could draft Marcus Smart! The dude is going to be an all star at the nba level.

    Evan Turner anyone?

There's that patty mills name again! What makes you think mills would leave the spurs? Seriously why would he leave a contending possible championship team to come play with the hawks. I get we are trying to run the same system but please convince me that mills would bolt San Antonio for the hawks? Turner on the other hand is looking to get his career back on track. I can see him coming for 4mil one year deal and working with coach bud to turn his career around.

    Evan Turner anyone?

Your not the only one! I think bud will win his share of COY awards and I have never said that about a hawks coach! I too think he could turn turners career around if given the chance to coach him.

    Evan Turner anyone?

Lol well I think he will be worth the shot! Like @GameTime said he's almost guaranteed a garbage 4-5m contract and I don't see the pacers matching it cause they have to deal with lance.
  22. LMAO @JayBirdHawk I forgot about that rumor! Lol I was one of the sure dumbasses that just knew we signed him to trade him! Lol man that is hilarious that everyone including me thought that it was just a fact that ferry signed sap to trade him for asik. Yeah I learned my lesson to stop trying to know what ferry is going to do instead I will just guess.
  23. Lol yes please provide some evidence that ferry doesn't want a star.
  24. JTB

    Evan Turner anyone?

Also turner is a decent rebounder. Probably could do a lot better once the coach gets it in his head.
  25. Yeah I just asked that question! Lol Seriously...I rather go after lance but I'm almost certain his first choice will be to stay with the pacers. So why not Evan Turner? Evan Turner ..... -25 years young -he played a lot better in Philly...hard to judge a player on the pacers! George Hill and others were better on other teams before they got Indiana too. -at ohio state he was a great shooter and actually the best coming in, in his draft class at shooting! Not sure what happened once he got to the nba. -at the nba level he has become a pretty good slasher which is weird because at Ohio he was a fantastic shooter. -defensively he's not that bad actually pretty decent of course could be a lot better. This guy gets a lot of heat as he didn't live up to expectations but I think coach bud and crew could develop this guy and make him a good player for us. Also he shouldn't be that much as his value has dropped greatly since being on the pacers. What you guys think?
