  2. That is why I wanted to add Tay Prince to the depth squad. There is no telling when injury happens and we could use his skillset that mirrors our players TO A T!!
  3. I was going to go a different route, but I have to agree 100% with this and you backed it up with the stats to support your evidence. GREAT points.

    Would he fit?

Right, because Memphis has been losing with him. No need for depth and insurance. We are going to be healthy for the entire season.

    Would he fit?

Thank you. What is wrong with quality depth. We just witnessed that with our PG rotation. What happens if DMC misses significant time? Could you trust Baze in the playoffs when everything is more pressure and more intense.

    Would he fit?

    Lol, better late than never

    Would he fit?

I think he is the perfect player for our offense. He is not a volume shooter and don't get disgruntled when he don't score. What is wrong with adding quality depth that won't kill chemistry? It's not broken and adding him is not fixing it. It is adding HIGH QUALITY and VALUABLE depth. I just imagine Shredder, Prince, Thabo, and Baze off the bench with Prince as a small 4. That is defense at its highest and the offense doesn't suffer too much. Just let Shredder create for everyone else.

    Would he fit?

I KNOW we don't NEED him but it is a chance to up grade the roster with an ideal Hawks/Bud system type of player. He is long, athletic, can defend 3-4 positions. He is unselfish and hustle and plays defense. He is a high character guy, that won't destroy the locker room or chemistry. Why don't you want to bring him in?

    Would he fit?

Which thread is that? I want to view the comments. I think it is interesting and he would be a good option to bring in and bring off the bench. Man, a second squad of Shredder, Thabo, and Prince...even more PRESSURR defense than the starters. And I don't think it will drown the offense. I hope we bring him in.
  10. And the fact that it appears EVERYONE is having FUN, well maybe except for JJenkins...the 'culture' has OFFICIALLY been changed
  11. Understand the late game theory, but honestly, before this game, what has the AJC highlighted or promoted or complemented our Hawks on?
  12. The tear-jerker for me was when he accepted the Dickie V award for perseverance at the Espy's in July 2014. When he called his youngest daughter on stage and said, 'daddy needs a hug' and she came on stage, hugged him and cried in his arms...it's jerking them now.
  13. 2 words...SIMPLY AMAZING!! It goes to show what actual coaching and player development can do for ANYONE.
  14. I am glad he played and they were rested so the media couldn't cop out the LA illness excuse. We beat them in there house on a back to back. I agree, his points came in the flow of the game and not dominating the game. He aapeared to be the only threat with Matthews chipping in. It's hard to believe we took Lillard out the game like that. But we play championship, "all-out effort'' defense, except Teague.
  15. Boycott the paper and let them know it. In the comments' section, inform them of the reason why they almost closed down They don't support the home team so we don't support them.
  16. Stuart Scott died today at age 49 from cancer. I liked Stuart. RIP and be cancer-free
  17. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/gamecast?gameId=400578793&version=mobile A few things that stand out to me in the article: the defensive props Aldridge gives the Hawks, the points in the paint, and Hawks beating the almighty Western Conference. Oh yeah...this was created from my Galaxy Note...work with me. Paul Millsap's 27 lead Hawks past Blazers for fourth straight winAssociated Press PORTLAND, Ore. -- Even a late threat from the Trail Blazers didn't rattle the steady Hawks. Paul Millsap had 27 points and Atlanta held off a late Portland rally for a 115-107 victory Saturday night for their fourth straight win. Jeff Teague added 22 points and the Hawks, playing the second game of a back-to-back, improved to 11-5 on the road, including six straight wins away from home. "We just kept saying, 'Stay solid. Keep playing our game, and let's go out and get this game,' " saidKyle Korver, who added 14 points. "And that's what we did." The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Trail Blazers, who have lost just three games at home this season. LaMarcus Aldridge led Portland with 30 points and 12 rebounds. The Hawks led by as many as 20 points in the second half. But trailing 106-96 with just under 3 minutes to go, Wesley Matthews hit a 3-pointer and Aldridge added a layup. Aldridge dunked to make it 109-103 with 1:21 left, but the rally fell short. The Hawks were coming off a 98-92 victory at Utah on Friday, which popped them into the top spot in the Eastern Conference for the first time since Dec. 27, 1997. The victory improved the Hawks to 8-2 over Western Conference opponents. "This is a tough place to play," Millsap said of Portland's Moda Center. "I've played here many times over the years when I was in Utah -- I know how tough it is to play here. The crowd gets into it and the team feeds off the crowd. Winning here says a lot about our team." The Blazers got a hard-fought 102-97 overtime victory at home against Toronto on Tuesday, which extend their winning streak at home to seven straight games. With Matthews effectively guarding Korver, the Blazers jumped out to an 8-0 lead after Matthews' 3-pointer. But Atlanta went on an 18-3 run to lead 29-20 at the end of the first quarter. "Great first few minutes, but then I thought they did a really good job of just taking us out of our rhythm and making us play too fast," Aldridge said. "Their defense made us uncomfortable most of the night." Trailing by as many as 11 in the half, Portland pulled to 50-47 on consecutive late baskets from Aldridge. Nicolas Batum added a layup, but the Hawks still led 52-49 at the break. Atlanta extended the lead in the second half, going up 62-51 on Millsap's dunk. Teague's basket pushed the advantage to 81-61. The Blazers responded with a 14-2 run to close out the third quarter, capped by Damian Lillard's long 3-pointer at the buzzer that closed the gap to 83-75. Aldridge thought that might be the start of a momentum shift. "I thought things were definitely going to change for us," he said. "Just with who we are, I thought we were getting over the hump, but they played defense and made shots down the stretch." Portland was hurt early in the fourth when centerJoel Freeland appeared to injure his right shoulder and was whisked to the locker room. Freeland had been getting more minutes in the absence of Robin Lopez, who is out with a broken hand. After the game the Blazers said an MRI confirmed that Freeland sustained a right shoulder strain. He will be reevaluated in two weeks. TIP INS Hawks: Blazers coach Terry Stotts was head coach of the Hawks in 2003-04, coaching the team to a 52-85 record. Trail Blazers: Lillard was playing in his 198th consecutive game for the Blazers, ranking him second with Terry Porter on the franchise all-time list. ... Singer k.d. Lang, a Portland resident, was among the fans at the game. THE 3-POINTERS Much was made going into the game about the potential 3-point battle between Matthews and Korver, both known for their perimeter shooting. In the end, both players finished with four 3 pointers. Overall, the Blazers made 13 and the Hawks made six. While normally the Blazers win those games where they score that many, Matthews lamented: "You have nights like that sometimes." STAT OF THE NIGHT The Hawks had 64 points in the paint, while the Blazers had 38. That was an issue for Stotts. "I've been concerned about points in the paint all season. As long as we score, if we get them in the paint, I'm not as concerned. But defensively, that is a concern. The ball was getting to the rim too much." QUOTABLE Wesley Matthews on the Blazers: "We just weren't ourselves." UP NEXT Hawks: At the Los Angeles Clippers Monday
  18. Revisiting this topic...I would go Bird, Miller, Allen, and Korver (homerism).
  19. I know members are going to see my name and think I am an apologist. I am a constructive critic. I try to stay neutral. But with this tweet from Chris Broussard: "Sources: nearly every playoff team besides ATL has reached out to Josh Smith's reps; some of course out of due diligence..." about an hour ago Do you think Blink and Al-Fuego told Bud, h3ll no, don't bring his @$$ back here? We have 3 capable PGs and shooters already, we are good coach. Don't even contact his reps to get his hopes up...lmao.
  20. Actually, I think it was a couple of days ago...someone suggested we go ahead and trade Teague to get a wing or a Center. Now, WITFWWDT. We have the wings we need, Korver-offense, DMC-both, Thabo-defense, Baze-explosion and defense. I would not mind Harrison Barnes but GS is not letting him go for nothing. Besides, I wouldn't want to mess up our chemistry. It is been duly noted on here, but we need to continue harping on that when bringing up trades. Chemistry and system should be the most valued aspect in basketball if you ask me. Even if you are overmatched, with those two things, you can compete with anybody.
  21. http://www.peachtreehoops.com/2014/9/10/6130527/dominique-wilkins-potential-owner-atlanta-hawks-tmz http://www.peachtreehoops.com/2014/9/8/6120991/atlanta-hawks-potential-buyers-interested Please let it be Arthur Blank, Ted Turner (one more try - glory days, better marketing & televised games), Bernie Marcus, or the Cathy family. We can include the Cox family as well as this would get us nice marketing but not sure about televised games. I prefer it be Arthur Blank as he has shown a passion for sports and the city of Atlanta. He is committed to winning. The article stated Koonin received 7 phone calls. That is a lot. However, I prefer it be someone with local ties to Atlanta with genuine love for the city. *chanting* Let's go Ar-thur!! *clap, clap, clap-clap-clap!!* dominique-wilkins-potential-owner-atlanta-hawks-tmz.htm
  22. Are you seriously comparing Amare to Kemp? No comparison ANY day. Kemp had a nice post game, mid-range, and drive to the basket game against GREAT players as well as defenders and did more than hold his own. He was a GO-TO player. He was feared. And Amare's above the rim play is not on the same planet as Kemp. The only current above the rim players on Kemp's level is Griffin and Bron. But they get more highlights because of the soft rules of today's game. As far as Dennis, I respect your opinion on Dennis, but your opinion seems to be blind loyalty from SL and preseason, against somewhat inferior opponents. Potential and blind loyalty can make you look like a genius or a fool. Just look at our former coaches and GMs for reference. They all basically went off the potential of Josh to turn the corner (I am obviously a Smoove fan, look what he did this year - below pedestrian) and the 'potential' of several other draft prospects; Salim, Law, Jones (although I liked Solomon). Where did that get us> Potential gets you no where until it is fulfilled. You are blindly loyal to a 16-17 pick from last year and expect a top 5 in ANY draft, let alone this one. *Gasp* But it is your opinion my man and I respect that.
  23. Sean Elliot was decent. I would go Chuck Person before Sean. Kerry kittles? Maybe at Villanova but I did not hear too much from him in the NBA. I could be wrong.
  24. No Mitch Richmond, no Thunder Dan Marjle (sic)
