  1. There is a reason the Atlanta sports scene is poor. Half of it is fans and the other half is ownership and gms. Some of you probably wanted to get rid of Nique when he was here too. (I know...NOBODY here did...YOU LIE!!) why in the hell do someone wants to draft off of potential. Look at Marvin...look at Oden (and b4 you say, Oden can't stay healthy, when he is, he is still just mediocre and isn't a real factor). Ya'll (not generalizing, but if the shoe fits...) "fans" change so quickly. Josh had a bad offseason and want to trade a "potential" All-Star for a "potential' contributor. We might as well trade Josh for Blatche or McGee or Biedrens or Hill or Jordan for all "potential" in Cousins. Get real.
  2. I'm disappointed in Nire, he's usually all over these rethreads. I posted this almost two weeks ago Well, obviously I must've missed it that week because I didn't see this topic or never heard about this...this was news to me...so if you know you already seen this topic a while back, why click in it again, just to speak on it, keep it movin on to the next
  3. The Hawks MAY have called the Nets about acquiring Devin Harris. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/66510/20100511/nets_have_received_calls_about_harris/ "Although New Jersey hasn't ruled out playing the two together in the event they draft Wall, president Rod Thorn has already received calls about Harris. "I can't lie about it," Thorn said. "I've had calls about that." The Hawks, Heat and Pacers may have interest in Harris." Read more: http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/66510/20100511/nets_have_received_calls_about_harris/#ixzz0oZ5Iak6L They are listed as one of the teams that were interested. At least we know that they are trying to continue to upgrade the team. For everyone that has been saying the ASG has been frugile, check the records. Gearon made a nice quote the other day, "they don't mind spending the money if it upgrades the team and is not going to be stuck with a bad contract (paraphrased)" Who knows, maybe they will still try to swing a trade for Harris. :thumbsupsmileyanim: Do you think they will at least attempt a trade now that the Wall sweepstakes fell through? No poll, just discuss.
  4. And the moral of the story is...you can't say just ANYTHING at the heat of the moment and expect that to justify you saying it...it will come back to haunt you, you will have to justify it later...you can't be sitting on a plane with your headphones on and singing along with a song and just say, "I'm the" under your breath and then say "bomb" out loud (a verse from Cypress Hill on Stankonia CD when they say "I'm the bomb"...it will come back on you...and as you stated, your words carry weight. If you said you are going to kill that ***** and the police heard you or it is reported...terroristic threat...jail time and MAYBE even a felony record...just for words...and if she happens to show up dead in a few months or even years...WHEW!! LEAVE THE COUNTRY I'm just sayin....it is understandable where his frustration was coming from and I do think his words were taken out of context. I'm thinking that he has to be on the court with his teammates and they have to have faith and believe in each other and not what the fans have faith in or believe. And his statement is justified because there are PLENTY of nights where that arena is EMPTY....but still....WHAT'CHA KNOW JOE!! P.S. I hope he stays
  5. I think he still plays come tomorrow...I'd rather not though
  6. This is how it's going to have to be...I say in the first round we run our game through the low-post (our major advantage) rather than through the guards (notable advantage) and then in round 2, we run our game through our guards (notable advantage) rather than through our frontcourt (slight disadvantage)I want as much rest as possible when we face Orlando...if we get any rest because Orlando might sweep the Cats or close out in 5 at the most
  7. Heyyy buddy...I have to disagree. You probably weren't in Philips last night then...IT WAS ROCKIN'. I hope we win by double figures and lead by 20....I had enough scares and close ones and close loses during the regular season. I also want to continue to build momentum and confidence. We are going to need it to make a championship run.
  8. I totally agree with this assessment. It might've did him some GREATER good to go play overseas. Kinda like what it did for Jennings game. But Chillz can become a poor man's Shawn Marion. I say, even if we bring Joe back and Mo leaves, bring Chillz back to start at 3 and let Marvin (no knock on Marvin) back him up.
  9. That is sweet right there...and I got just the kicks to go with it....
  10. :laughing5: I thought that was a photoshopped Hubie Brown who is gonna lead our team next year..LOL
  11. I don't know what else she would have available. You could definitely give her a call and try and see.
  12. Contact Lauren in the Hawks sales office at 404-878-3560...I will be there, for EVERY game buddy, except on Wednesdays, I have class.
  13. Not only that, but Jamal is WAAAAAY!! more humble than MV7 (my only reference to Vick on this board, sorry).
  14. All while getting better and better and more comfortable taking them as the season progresses. This is his first year really using the jumper at his disposal. I WISH opposing teams would continue giving it to him...I would tell him to continue taking them...now Smoove OTH, drive or post-up buddy, leave the mid-range to Al.
  15. This is what I'm talking about right here. Use his strengths to his advantage and diminish his weaknesses by using a different method of scoring. Some centers are going to be too slow, some too small, some stiff, some not quick enough to challenge the 12-15 footer, some too weak. Exploit there defensive weaknesses.
  16. I disagree. I saw him make a couple of hooks and and running floaters in the lane on Hibbert. Also, if we was to stop with his back to the basket, how would he develop it. He would be an Antonio McDyess with less height and would be criticized down the road for not developing or elevating his game. This just makes Al more dangerous and have an array of moves to go to. I say it depends on who he's playing and how he's feeling it as to what moves or shots to defer to. He he has a slower player...take him to the perimeter. If he follows, take him off the dribble (Bogut, Lee. If he has a quicker player on him, muscle him (Bosh, Bargnani, McCoy, Blatche). Run the pick and roll and pick and pop if he has the open shot. Don't limit yourself to being one-dimensional, a spot up shooter or just trying to take someone off the dribble (Smoove).
  17. My answer would be H3LL yeah!! I know, I know....the bench?!? The Bulls had a weak bench in their championship runs. They made nobodies, somebodies by getting them playing time with all the blowouts they had. We have our 2-TWO defenders of the fortress...Smoove and Deke...the paint would be on lock...NOBODY intimidated or defended the paint as well as Deke...either a block, contested shot, changed shot or an elbow....we'd have our two scorers/All-Stars at that at the 2 and the 3 (Jordan/Pippen .25/2.0 respectively) along with our penetrating guard who also played defense and passed the ball well....I say, HELL YEAHHHHH!!
  18. LOL!! He sad..."JAM FOLLOW" JOSH SMITH, COUNT THE BASKET" Not only do I translate gibberish, but I am also a baby whisperer and goat whisperer
  19. This is what I'm thinking. I know my name make it seems like I might be bias towards Smoove but I'm REALLY not. I just think that this season Smoove has been the MVP of the team. And I think Joe is the leader by example type of leader, Josh is the emotional leader, and Horford is the vocal leader. :offtopic2: J-Smoove Joe Cool Horford Bruise Jamal Cruise Zaza Rules Marvin Snooze (joking) Bibby no-moves (joking) I'm not a Hawks basher. I am a constructive critic.
  20. Why is that? They pass the ball in the post better than our guards, even crawford, without penetration. They just simply share the ball VERY well together. The only time our guards look for our bigs (Josh at least) is when it is an alley. Horford has been getting more touches in the post, but I wouldn't mind more back door screens for our guards from the high post, Josh is excelling at this.
  21. And that he is getting better...his FT has been a major difference maker on the '10 side of the basketball season and his jumper is improving....I don't mind seeing him take about 2 open jumpers a game, especially in rhythm and with confidence, but I think his passing and ball handling have taken major strides as well
  22. Dwight Howard is the Magic's team MVP and they don't want the ball in his hands in the clutch...Kevin Garnett is the team MVP and they give the ball to PP or Ray Allen in the clutch....JT get the ball in the club from time to time in the clutch for Dallas and he is not the team MVP...Tim Duncan is the team MVP but Ginobli (more than likely) gets the last shot....your perception of team MVP is being misconstrued with best shooter or clutch shooter...MVP is most VALUABLE player, not clutch shooter or whatnot...the thing that makes Josh the MVP in my eyes is the MANY things and INTANGIBLE things that he brings to the table...Joe brings scoring and clutch shooting (sometimes, the choke in the playoffs at the line was HORRID and still haunts me) and passing...Josh brings that and more And before you bring up the double teams Joe face...hell, half the time he dribbles into the double team or hold the ball so long that they do double team and Joe also gets plenty of one on one....all is this is not to say that Joe isn't our best player because he ARGUABLY is or that Joe isn't good...it's to say that Josh is the MVP, at least this season BTW...if we have to pay Joe the max to keep him...PAY IT!! He is worth an extra 2-3 million a year difference than going back to middle of the pack or worse [and this is not to say that the Hawks can't maintain above average without Joe...I just don't won't to test it or experience it]
  23. I must not only have a 'short' memory...I must have AMNESIA....I've NEVER heard Barkley speak up for the Hawks when 'everyone' thought we were a joke....he did and most time, still does....being called a pretender is the same as being called a joke....it says, there alright but don't take them serious, they are only 'pretending' , IOW, a joke
  24. I want to say Josh Smith, but that seems to be the "easy" answer. This has to be a trick question.
