  1. Joshua and Jeffrey and Joseph closed that bad boy out tonight! Yeah, Smoove had his No-No-No moments, but he more than made up for them. He went after the rim and stopped waiting on the refs to bail him out. And just an important, he found a way to make Al Horrendousford offensively relevant tonight! Goodness gracious, what passing! He got Al's head back into this series with those dimes for easy buckets. Who knew that was coming? That pass off the rebound to Joe was one of those do-not-try-this-at-home moments that worked out just fine (would've made Matty Ice and Roddy proud) and gave Josh the confidence he needed the rest of the way. Plus he did the best he could (not perfect, but who is?) trying to help with DRose in that second half. I was watching Josh after every setback (missed jumpers, turnovers, scored upon, non-foul calls), and most of the time, his demeanor and focus was right where we needed it to be. ~lw3
  2. No prob, Supp, you're right on it! This team can trounce the Bulls on the boards and pull off this series if they can stay focused for all 48. They've got to continue to help each other on the glass (not just the centers and Smoove). Boozer and Noah and Taj can become not much more than slightly nuanced spectators the rest of the way if we keep a body on them. When DRose settles for wild shots and jumpers, box out! ~lw3
  3. Just deleted a bunch of rambling so I can gather my thoughts better and comment later. But suffice to say, we probably have the worst (no specific league) sports fans for a team with so many pro sports around. The sports teams and the people who sign their checks don't help their own cause. And the club scene is both a blessing and a curse. ~lw3
  4. You can't quit on this team! Not if they quit on you first! ~lw3
  5. Your thoughts on the Lakers or, perhaps more appropriately, how well the Mavs are doing? After that Game 3 at the Lowlight Factory, I watched how Dallas played at home coming back late from behind and just shed tears. But can Dirk be left any more open from 3? Who's gone from the Lake Show this offseason? Gasol? Artest? ~lw3
  6. As I said, it's not US that needs to see the chart... although I'm really scared to see it now. I guess the good news is he can go to LD and say, "Look, Coach... no three-point shots tonight! Where's my cookies?" ~lw3
  7. http://sports.yahoo....?urn=nba-wp2728 I didn't know which Smoove thread to put this in, but has anyone presented him with his NBA (Not-so-) Hot Spots chart? Until now, I've been too scared to look at it. Here it go... from the appropriately-named Ball Don't Lie blog... ~lw3
  8. Tyrus Thomas got him twice when he was with the Bulls at the Factory, but that was like 4 years and about 100 trips to Dreamland BBQ ago. ~lw3
  9. That pic always reminds me of one of those horror films where the angry beast jumps up outta somebody's chest. As long as Smoove can fit into a Harry the Hawk outfit when it's time to retire then it's all good. ~lw3
  10. lmao I was going more for the '78 Plymouth Volare! He has been tricked out quite nicely since last season though. ~lw3
  11. You know the new guys/gals get responsibility for making the game threads, right? Just playing... and welcome! ~lw3
  12. It's so bad that, to help keep the weight off of it, he's gonna sit Indian-style before lofting his 20-footers. ~lw3
  13. [/drumroll] [/rimshot] "Thank you, Little Rock! Thank you! I'll be here all week! Try the veal! And, please, tip your waitresses!" ~lw3
  14. Smoove: "But I was wide open..." Bale: "Ohhhhhhhh Goooooood For Youuuuu!" ~lw3
  15. [piano] "Yeah it's too late, baby, now, it's too late..." [/caroleking]
  16. Can we play Damien some more? Maybe first off the bench instead of Craw when we need defense, or, hell, Marvin when we need offense? So pleased with Teague's efforts. No he's not perfect, but without his aggressiveness we might still be looking for our first win. He's given us almost everything we could ask for, under the circumstances and given his on-court experience. ~lw3
  17. That is fan-tas-tic! Is it scary that it took like 30+ seconds for it to set in for me? lmao @ "Run it Back" ~lw3
  18. Great play-by-play analysis. As foul happy as Teague can be, and as aggressively as Rose drives, if you told me before the game Rose would end the night with NO trips to the line (the only place on the floor where he's shooting reliably right now), you'd have to pick me up off the floor. The bigs can do a slightly better job helping Teague by cutting off Rose's passes in the paint, but no need to quibble. ~lw3
  19. ^That took a whole 36 minutes. We're slippin'! lol Also LOL at Marvin on 790 defending Smoove as a "streaky shooter". Whenever Arthur Triche retires, I nominate Marvin to take over. ~lw3
  20. I'll admit... I voted AFTER the game! *snort* ~lw3
  21. Before I completely relieve their vertebral columns of the pachyderm, I do need to see this team cut out the blowout playoff losses. Game 5's 25-point loss @ Orlando is hopefully becoming more the aberration than the rule. We'll see how it goes the rest of the way. But it was great to see this team jump on an opponent from the beginning and not slide completely into the abyss when their adversaries make the inevitable run. ~lw3
  22. My long-standing fuss extends to his teammates as well. When he is "out there" (you know what I mean... physically...) and not in a proper position to score or pass around the paint, can teammates please just stop looking for him? Fake the pass if you have to, and then pass to someone else if you've already picked up the ball, or otherwise drive, or take the ball out and reset. Just Marvinize him and make him a last resort if you're bottled up and desperately need to pass the ball out of the paint or the corner during the closing seconds of the shot clock. When he realizes he's not getting touches, he can elect to either change his game or change his production. I'm sure it's not so simple, but unless he just brings the ball up the floor himself and jacks up long jumpers, Josh can't take bad shots without somebody giving him the ball. ~lw3
  23. If he ever does, have him tested IMMEDIATELY! lol ~lw3
