  1. His body, and overall build is way more balanced and athletic than Marvin, who had the duck butt attached to an otherwise pretty athletic frame. But the utilization of said frame reminded me of ole Marv, it's probably just me. I WILL SAY, upon a second look. I think it's just conditioning. Cam started out very strong and physical. It wasn't until the 2nd half and later in to the game that he started to play smaller/off balanced. I think he may just need to play himself back in to game shape after the long layoff.
  2. Oh most definitely, Im waiting for it lol But it was true his rookie year, and he got a pass, rightfully. Year 2, watching that cut up of his touches, his play strength hasnt improved. Its one preseason game, so not going to ring the alarm. I still see him as a future star, but the same cons from his pre draft to now are showing up.
  3. Cam's got a little Marvin Williams in his game. That bad balance, tall on paper but plays short cuz his core strength lets him down kind of play style. He should be ok once he gets his grown man strength, but any kind of contact and he is wobbly. Even Trae has better body control despite a much smaller stature. Trae knows how to use his opponents body as a fulcrum to bounce off of. Still young, still early. Just making observations.
  4. Clint is different. He had a stretch last year of 8 straight games where he went over 20 rebs (7 actually, with 1 game of 19, but that's close enough to count it). https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/capelca01/gamelog/2020/ The man is an animal on the glass. We haven't seen a Hawks player like him in a generation.
  5. We looked like a team that hadn't played in 9 months.... and still kept fighting until the end. Not mad at that. I really wanted to beat the crap out of Orlando though. I really want us to smack around a couple of teams early just to wake up the sports world. Oh well, I will settle for a gradually adjustment period as everyone gets settled with each other.
  6. I didn't even when we signed him. But Im not going to harp on an UDFA player who is literally the last man off the bench.
  7. I say that with the acknowledgment that by regular season game 1, one of them will be starting.
  8. I think there is something about BBIQ and Awareness that trumps raw talent. The way Hill snatched that rebound from JC kind of shows it. Like hey, this is a grown man game, don't get caught sleeping. Hunter and Reddish will have their time, but sitting and watching smart basketball for a bit will be invaluable.
  9. Adding Bogi and Mays was not a good sign for Kev long term. He is extremely expendable now. I think him being rumored in so many trades was less about how much teams wanted him specifically and more about us making everyone else untouchable. I believe the FO likes Kev but has a decent idea of his ceiling/limit, and its the lowest of all the core.
  10. I think the Bogi signing probably helps Kev the most. Bogi is exactly the kind of player we all envisioned Kev developing in to. Similar size, same skillsets, Bogi is just more aggressive and competitive with it. Hopefully Kev can see himself and come out of his shell more in year 3.
  11. But I think thats the point too. Getting hype about inside info that is only 5% likely to happen is not for everyone. Some people like to know about conversations and trades that may never see the light of day, others may see it as a waste of time and energy. The same logic applies to sports fandom in general. Especially if you're in Atlanta. I could say that 95% of the time if I bet against us winning it all, I would be rich. Or if I bet against the field versus say Lebron and 2 other top contenders, I'd likely be right. So, why even spend the time and energy watching games in the first place when we all know the inevitable outcome?. We all know other people who whenever we start talking about the Hawks or Falcons, cut us off with "So what, they still wont win it all this year." And the truth is, they are probably right. And that's why they dont watch or get excited. In the end, most of us on here and other fans take interest in the entertainment of the sport and pride of our team. That brings us joy, even in defeat. Same with the rumors. Its good to know about the thought process and direction of the front office, even it it comes up empty.
  12. I already knew what this was before I opened it. I was just talking about this with friends. Freaking awesome, walking the walk.
  13. Yes. Zion has better handles and can get his own shot. John is a better shooter and rebounder. A better role player for sure. But if you're asking me, yes I would.
  14. Luka can't play defense either..... but he is top 5?
  15. There were more practice clips in this piece tonight on SVP @2:25 mark
  16. I think its just the way used him. He was only on the court for short stretches, so I bet he just wasn't fully locked in. He also likes to leak out in transition which takes him away from the action.
  17. Black Team: Trae, Bogi, Cam, Hill, Gallo, O.O on sideline Grey Team: Goodwin, Rondo, Heurter, Collins, Knight, Dunn on sideline
  18. Vucevic has been a thorn in our side a for years. I'm interested in seeing how we match up now with Clint. Other than that yes, Embiid is the top big, Bam is the hot name with a very versatile and modern game. After that it's dicey with a mix of "names" and skillset guys. Clint is in the 3-5 range, bit Embiid and Bam are 1 & 2 for sure Im curious if Capela's defensive impact is so great that it makes up for the gap on the offensive end when compared with some of the very skilled offensive type Centers in the East.
  19. One could argue that on a pound for pound comparison, Trae is a better rebounder for his size than Zion, getting you over 4 per game. One could also argue, not many people want to bang with Zion going for a 50/50 rebound. He puts new meaning to the phrase "throw your weight around." lol
  20. Tobias Harris contract alone makes it a do-able trade. They need to attach some draft assets and a filler to make it worth Houstons while maybe. Talk about a shooting upgrade in one off season. You could "Play" Simmons at the 4 now safely and still let him run point in lineup of: Curry Harden Green Simmons Embiid That's 3 snipers on the wing with a Simmons-Embiid high pick and roll. That's 2 offensive initiators who constantly attack the rim and get fouled. That gives Embiid much more space to do his thing. Me likey
  21. Told y'all. Silas is delusional if he thinks Harden is walking through the door.
  22. Trae's official measurements have him taller than Kemba, Lowery, and FVV. But that goes against his narrative so we have to pretend he is Isiah Thomas out there
  23. Kyrie was injured , Beal was just coming on but losing, Westbrook was in loaded West. Fan votes only count for 1/3, I think Trae keeps most of those though he will lose some. Trae finished near the top in coaches and players votes because there wasn't any competition and the other East guards basically took votes from each other. This year I can see coaches and players having clear favoritism for Westbrook and Kyrie, and maybe Beal if the Wiz are winning.
  24. By their typical logic they are probably regretting the Wiz right now. They love some Westbrook. By the way. I love me some Trae, but him making it back as an All Star starter just got more difficult in the East. Im not arguing about skill, talent, prime, or even who will have a better record. But guys Kyrie, Russ, and Beal will get a ton of love if their teams are just moderately successful. Kemba and Trae may end up as reserves this year. We will see how not having a game will affect voting.
