  1. 3+ blocks a game as an undersized center back in the days of dominant big men. He was pretty nice as a rim protector.
  2. Maybe Im trippin, I mean I was a young whippersnapper back then, but I remember Theo leading the lead in blocks for us a couple of times right? I remember on NBA Street when I used the Hawks he was beast at goaltending for me lol My 3 man lineup was Jason Terry, Reef, and Theo. They held their own for pretty well for me
  3. Nah, but that could very well end up being Dunn's comparison if he doesnt suit up soon lol
  4. I can see this happening. If we go with Collins at center, I really would like Cam and Gallo to start at SG/PF so that we are "small" but not really small ya know.
  5. Lets take a stab: If it were me lineup would be: Young, Goodwin Cam, Bogi, Mays Dre, Huerter Gallo, Hill Collins, Bruno, Knight LP will likely run out: Trae, Goodwin Bogi, Huerter, Mays Hunter, Cam Gallo, Hill Collins, Bruno, Knight Hawksquawk would probably prefer: Trae, Goodwin Bogi, Huerter, Mays Hunter, Cam Collins, Gallo, Hill Bruno, Knight Either way, tonight could be rough.
  6. Should of known it was a Becky that blocked his car. I swear these things write themselves sometimes smh. Always starting stuff with people minding their own business Oh well, its a stupid situation. Im sure the only reason they engaged was because somebody threatened to call the cops on the other and Rondo was not tryna deal with police back in July, if you know what Im saying. Thats the only reason I can see him trying to argue with the lady.
  7. That's good, I hope so. Flip side, what if we were the team on the outside looking in, but finishing the year on fire? Not even saying we had a losing record. Lets say the East is ultra competitive and teams 8-10 are all .500 or better, but we are sitting at 9 or 10 with the same excuses of maybe Trae missed 2 weeks because of Covid? All of a sudden the play in seems like a fair deal right? lol
  8. I think we are good no matter what. No details have emerged about the negotiations or the numbers/gap between the two sides. I think the Hawks want people to believe we are low-balling him and not willing to overpay. That way when he becomes a RFA next summer, teams will offer a competitive deal that we could easily match versus a serious overpay that we would hesitate on. Im sure there is a number in their mind that they refuse to come off of before the season. And with a better idea of his impact on this roster in the playoffs, they can either stick to it or go to a higher end number that they are prepared to match. Either way, all is not lost if he doesn't extend. There are pros for both sides in that scenario so long as the front office plays their cards right,
  9. What if we finished 7th or 8th seed, but lost the play in round. Would you all be pissed?
  10. Yup. Rotations with the available bodies were what they were. Guys on minutes restrictions, being held out, no other backup Center on roster, etc.... Execution was up and down, some good, some bad. Turnovers arent on the coach. Missed open shots arent on the coach. Not closing out on defense isn't on the coach. And if you cant send a message by benching a guy for poor effort because they need to be on the floor to get chemistry, and not over work someone else as a result, I mean what are you going to do. We got blown out in game 3 2nd half playing that stupid zone that they agreed to play. Other than that, the guys looked equally rusty as they did competitive. Again, missed open shots aint on the coach. You got to let guys play through that in preseason. Missed shots lead to transition scoring opportunities. It goes hand in hand. The only thing that made me upset that LP directly controlled was trotting out Kev at PG. Everything else was arbitrary or typical of preseason play.
  11. My only knock on LP was him not putting in a PG to run the bench on far too many occasions. We looked night and day better when Goodwin ran point instead of Kev or Bogi (Bogi was better than Kev though, tbh). I think his idea was to give Kev a chance to get comfortable, but my hope is he wont do that in the reg season. Letting Kev struggle through PG reps not only exposed him, but it destroyed any kind of offensive rhythm for the other guys to get going. We didnt look great with Trae, Rondo, or Goodwin, but it was at least an organized hot mess. With Kev it was like watching a youth team struggle to get the ball past half court, let alone run a play or find a good shot. We shot ourselves in the foot with that and lost valuable shot opportunities for guys to gain confidence without Trae. Bad on LP
  12. Patience is key considering what we all knew back in March, and then when the bubble came: The long time off would be extremely detrimental to young franchises like ours. That's not an excuse, it's something we all agreed to be true. That being said, the best chemistry still involves all of the young guys who have been together the longest. So we have 2 obstacles against us. A bunch of talented vet FA's who have to find their chemistry with each other and our guys. And a bunch of youth that plays well together but are still shaking off youthful habits and mistakes. Add to that, we still don't have key defensive additions like Dunn and OO, or a career 40% 3pt shooter in Snell who will also need to be worked in. We are at the beginning stages of building this thing on the court. We see glimpses. We see talent. Its just not cohesive yet. Got to let that thing marinate and slow cook.
  13. 40+ per year is too much, and we can say for a lot of guys. Gobert is an all NBA, Defensive Player of the Year type center so I can see their line of thinking, either pay up and pay well, or lose him to a contender. Utah is not finding another player of his caliber on the market that would be willing to play in Utah of all places. 30 mil is for his salary, the other 10 is to keep him in town and away from another Western conference team. Franchises like Utah cannot afford to let elite talent walk out the door. And it costs
  14. I hope Bogi is everything we dreamed of and more. But even if he is, I STILL think Cam and Dre have more talent to work with. Plus size and length.
  15. Besides having an automatic jumper in 3 games, Hunter looks like the only perimeter player we have that doesn't get knocked backwards when attacking the rim. He always finishes strong and upright.
  16. Not gone lie, I finally gave in and got a subscription. Im so happy that I did.
  17. Honestly, I can admit JC is not without flaws, but when I hear some of the inconsistent, moving goalpost-type arguments made against him I cant help but go to bat for the guy. Its like, I can admit he aint a 99 overall, but dont play him like he is a scrub either. Especially when its "oh I like him, but" and then literally never saying a single positive thing about the man.
  18. I foresaw Gallo getting minutes at center especially with Okongwu injured.
  19. True. Its hard to remember sometimes that in the NBA winning only like 55% of your games usually puts you comfortably in the playoffs. In the East being .500 is usually all you need. We should be able to hit that mark, even if we arent the dominant squad we thought we were. It'll take time to gel, and teams with chemistry and bubble experience will have the edge on us early while we figure this new roster out.
