  1. Gotta be quick. Headed to a Wedding today.TAJ GIBSON, PFIt was not my intention to recreate the Chicago Frontcourt of two years ago so exactly, but ey were a rock-solid defensive team so I'll take it.Teague - BurkeIguodola - McLemoreGeorgeNowitzki - GibsonNoah - AsikLW3 has been PMed.
  2. I'm in LA so the NBATV feed is blacked out. I have to listen to the local Clipper guys. They are in love with Nogueira. They freaked out on the assist. "This kid can pass too!?" Haha.Definitely a year away gaining weight would not hurt, but liking what I'm seeing.Schröder has vision. I expect he is backup PG this year one way or the other, but will have some wow games I bet.
  3. I gotta believe this more about playing for the Russian and that team going for it than it is money. I'm sure we would have beat a 2 year contract of 3 a year. Ah well.
  4. People that think Ferry won't match because Teague said he wants to leave should remember Eric Gordon last year. Ferry will do what's beat for the team. But I could see Ferry not wanting to commit the 4 years if he doesn't believe in him, even if I do. Jennings on a 1 so he can try again next year, even if paid more, might be worth it to keep it a short contract. I prefer Teague, but realize that its close.
  5. Couple of different takes on Teague and Jennings for the curious:NBChttp://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/07/11/report-jeff-teague-signs-four-year-32-million-offer-sheet-with-bucks/AndSIhttp://nba.si.com/2013/07/11/jeff-teague-offer-sheet-milwaukee-bucks-atlanta-hawks/
  6. Although I prefer Teague, I'd be the first to admit that there isn't a gulf between the two players, but I'm confused by those that think we know who Teague is. Jennings is the one that has been the starter for 4 years. Teague was buried for two years and has been the starter for two. He gone from 12/4 to 14/7 in less minutes even, once we lost Joe. I'd like to see where he can go from here. He's getting better.
  7. I can't believe people really want Jennings. Just need change? Either way, we're about to find out if Ferry agrees with you or not, because ~8 million is reasonable for Teague's talent.(Also, probably good he signed this before Schröder goes off in Summer League. Haha.)
  8. MATCH. He's the best option available anyway and sounds like he'll be cheaper than the Buck chuckers anyway. Considering what Jrue and Ty got sign me up for 8.
  9. His hold becomes the 8 the moment he signs right? Meaning we lose a couple million of cap space.
  10. I agree with all of this. Especially, where we stand now, having anything to do with Ellis.I think if you thought we were going to be a contender after this offseason, I could see you being upset. But it never seemed realistic to me from Day 1. (CP3/Dwight pipe dream aside.) I'm still optimistic.

    The Plan Now

As much as I love Pekovic, I don't think he's worth over paying so that leaves him out. So is Al our Center? Probably. No real impact Free Agents left. What if we signed AK47 to a nice contract (you know, Utah guy) for one year and bring back Teague and roll with this:Teague - Schröder - MackKorver - Lou - JenkinsKirilenko - CarrollMillsap - Ivan - Scott Horford - Muscala - (Bebe, though I don't expect him here)Need to add a big to back up Al. Push Muscala down on depth chart. Maybe a vet min guy. Maybe a bit more. I've been suggesting Semih Erden for a few days. Realistically there will be no one we bring in that starts over Al, so why waste money on Daly or someone. It's a better team than last year. And we maintain flexibility with no bad contracts and we work on the winning culture and onward we go...
  12. With Bynum officially signing and Horford our C right now, Ivan's chances have increased I would say.
  13. Ok, in a hurry as I'm running out the door, but with #something pick, MrNique selects: BEN MCLEMORE, SG Young SG with a good stroke as I continue this round of the snake with another Rookie. Adding some youth with upside to my Chamipionship team.PG - Jeff Teague - Trey BurkeSG - Andre Iguodola - Ben McLemoreSF - Paul GeorgePF - Dirk NowitzkiC - Joakim Noah - Omer AsikCoach - Still Scouting...
  14. If we were to guarantee that 2nd year the 3rd year should absolutely be a Team Option. The upside makes me think YES if this happens. But I'm gonna be nervous every time he jumps. I live in LA. I saw his injury problems first hand.
  15. What you say here would definitely be the upside. Cheaper and would maybe agree to the 1-2 year contract. But just not the type of PG I want. My rankings with Mo added, like this:TeagueJenningsMoEllis
  16. Count me in as I hope we keep Teague over these other guys. This SI article think we should too:http://nba.si.com/2013/07/10/brandon-jennings-jeff-teague-nba-free-agents-2013/Sorry if this already got posted somewhere, so many similar threads going.
  17. I pm'd LW3. Since its after the cutoff, he has until 3 pm est to pick.
  18. With the #something Pick, MrNique selects: TREY BURKE, PG So many ways to go here as my draft board has plateaued a little. Since I was one of the last people to take a PG, figure I'll back my guy up with some youth. Only saw him play a few times, but I loved his fight. Seems like a winner to me that should excel in the NBA despite his size. A good P&R guy. Welcome aboard!PG - Jeff Teague - Trey BurkeSG - Andre IguodolaSF - Paul GeorgePF - Dirk NowitzkiC - Joakim Noah - Omer Asik
  19. Yeah, I'm really hoping they can play. Especially Schröder who I feel like is more likely to be on our roster as a backup PG. I wanna see him in action.
  20. This. But yeah, Teague. Jennings has more "dog" and I think that's what people see as his upside. And maybe they're right. But Teague is just better now and I'd rather see him in Bud's system. And yes, that money is a factor if the reported numbers are true.
  21. Man. I knew that 4 pick bomb was coming soon. Glad it wasn't right before I picked. Ha.
  22. I would move Orlando (obviously tanking), Charlotte (adding big Al makes them better, but not a playoff contender) and Orlando (nice young pieces but still a 30 win team at best) down a tier. Leaving:AtlantaWashingtonClevelandDetroitTorontoMilwaukee (maybe)I see no reason why we couldn't finish 6th when Ferry is done spending money. And NY is not all that so who knows.Definitely not a tank job. We want to rebuild by reloading. Tradeable contracts and asset adding while being flexible and staying competitive. Houston won 40+ games in a brutal west while they did this exact thing.
  23. I'd rather gamble with 1 year of Bynum than 1-2 of Ellis.
  24. Looking like that, if Ellis signs. I'm wondering if we still wouldn't use our Room Exception to add another big. I've been suggesting maybe Semih Erden. Muscala makes more sense as a 4th big.And anything more than 2 years for Ellis would just baffle me.
  25. Yeah, his bad jumper and inefficiency is really the head scratcher. Doesn't seem to fit the team they are building. Maybe if it was a 1 year. Hmm.
