so again you are saying Woody shouldve benched Bibby the rest of the first half last game ? Again Bibby has been so terrible that you feel he should be benched ? His minutes in NOV. - 30 mpg , Dec - 25 mpg and so far this month Jan- 25 mpg So how many minutes should Bibby play ? Do you think he should be taken out of the rotation all together ?

Ty Law played in SL and impressed with his shooting ability and ability to run a team Billups has also been injured and so he has shared time with Anthony Carter but make no mistake Ty Lawson is also a pure point . Dejuan Blair hs played great but his competition behind Parker was George Hill and Roger Mason Jr. We havent had any injuries that have caused any of our top 3 guards to miss multiple games or even single games . Those situations just are similar to the one Teague is in . Both those guys played in SL and played well. The coaching staff got a chance to see those players RUN THE TEAMS they were on and perform well . They knew in the summer that those guys could get backup minutes and lead the team . JT is well behind those guys because of that experience JT played 8 minutes last game and look at the fallout . You have people saying he should replace Bibby because he dominated Boykins . On this homestand I expect to see teague get minutes in every game against Sac,OKC,CHA,Pho but then we play @Hou@SA and I wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt play much . Hes played in 33 of the 38 games so far .

Yeah you are trying to use PER to compare a 8 mpg player to anyone ? So this is about you hating Bibby ? Even after all you mentioned Bibby is still better than Teague right now . Bibby is shooting 40% from three right now thats why hes in the game to spread the floor . Right now AL is tied for the league lead in 3 pt shooting percentage because hes only taken and made ONE doesnt mean if we give him a 1000 he would still be league leader . But how can anyone say we are hurting Teague unless they see practice and see the entire process . I dont doubt Teague or his ability but hes a rookie and its tough for him. Playing a rookie no matter what is basically the approach that bottom feeders use to justify picking them when you are a playoff team the rookie is to be integrated you dont drop everything for him unless hes the top pick in the draft. Most teams have a schedule for a rookie and I mentioned this during camp but there was no way he was gonna get a ton of minutes at first with no summer league play as that situation gives him a chance to be in charge and run the team as well as prepare him for game plans, refs etc . I think a lot of people are in denial but no summer league puts teague behind guys like Lawson in his development. The final thing is where do these magic minutes ? :) Bibby is at 25 mpg this month Joes minutes are at 37 mpg this season which is pretty good Crawfords biggest advantage to us especially against the top teams is at PG and hes at 30 mpg So where do you get Teague 20 mpg from ? When Bibbys in the game in the 4th quarter now hes usually in because his three point shot is respected leaguewide so he can spread the floor for Joe and jamal. If marvins three ball was falling with consistency this year Bibby wouldnt be in at all and it would Craw,Joe ,Marvin on the perimeter .

This is all speculation based on what you want to see . The outcome of the game doesnt and shouldnt dictate whether or not Teague should play . What if teague was struggling in practice ? Essentially you are saying he should play token minutes because of his draft status but no good team does that . Its also not just Bibby struggling either,Teague probably has one of the best combo guard in the league playing ahead of him as well. Once you factor in that several of these games you are complaining about were road games it just doesnt make sense because we are not a lottery team. Its a chicken little attitude to act as though because he hasnt played 30+ minutes per game on a playoff team in his first 40 games then his carer his over. Oh how will ever learn if he doesnt play immediately. :eek:

We are top ten team in the nba in assists you really should just stop while you are ahead . 48 minute stats mean little as no one averages 48 mpg . Do you really believe that if we played Teague 48 mpg he would average 9 assists per game . Im sure Ridnour ,Telfair and other perennial backups fans would say the same thing but it doesnt mean that would be whats best for the team . You seem to think that somehow if we start teague the ball would flow through Teague over Joe and thats just ridiculous . If the argument was start Teague because we could get out into the transition faster and increase our pace then I could buy that argument but it would still come down to Teague not being anywhere near as good as Bibby in the halfcourt . Teague hasnt shown he can shoot the three or get to the line, has trouble finishing and considering hes not a pure pass first pg hes not gonna get many consistent minutes on any team without showing improvement in those areas but still Woody has gotten him in against certain matchups . He plays well against Boykins and people want him matched up against the 6'4 Foye ? 6'6 nick young ? seriously ..... Woody is doing a great job with Teague and I expect to see him more after the all star break . Hes gotten spot minutes and will have a chance to see all the team and players at least once . We have one 4 game trip right after the all star break and then start feeding Teague consistent minutes as we have no more than 2 road games in a row the rest of the season.

Flip scored 20 or more points 10 times last year in 80 games Crawford has scored 20 or more points 15 times in 38 games Crawford is just not playing good for a 6th man he is playing we well as any sg in the league this year Kobe Wade JJ Roy Crawford Ray Allen Jrich Iggy Mayo Hes really being shortchanged this year because of his past rep . and of course the league wanted to see Kobe vs Lebron after the start the Cavs got off to . Its hard to break a rep in the nba good or bad . But at this point its time to start discounting the tickets hardcore to school groups and other charities and get some of those celebs to buy chunks of the tix at a discount to give away just to try and get people in the seats . Crawford wasnt hogging the ball he was performing his role and was actually doing quite well. When Joe leaves the game its Crawfords job to take over the scoring role thats what the team has asked him to do . Teague was matched up with Boykins in the first half I doubt Woody wanted to match Teague up with Foye who is more sg than pg and has decent size to boot. Teague played well and with good energy and performed well in the role he was given which was exploit the Boykins matchup to suggest that because of that he should start is foolish . If anything with the starters having another low energy poor start at home Woody shouldve let them sit and let the bench play out the first half . If you do that enough times the starters will get the message that they better come out with better energy because I will go with the bench the entire half if dont especially if the bench continued to play as well as it did tonight.

I agree thats why I feel we have to get into second place in the conference for them to have a chance . I dont feel Lopez deserves to be mentioned as his numbers are about as hollow as you can get . I agree the 5 best guards in the East so far this season have been Wade JJ Rondo Jamal Crawford Derrick Rose However because of where teams are in the standings jameer ,VC,Mo williams etc all will be considered even over Al and Horf So far this year the 5 best forwards have been Lebron Bosh Pierce Gerald Wallace Josh The top 3 centers have been Howard Al Perkins As I said earlier this season there is a chance for us to have 3 but they have to take it . They want 3 players in well get at least that #2 spot . They have 6 games over two weeks to make up 2 games .

Regular season respect means little at this point . The only way to shut anyone up is to be playing in game 7 of the east finals . Boston will never respect us until we send them fishing.

We dont look awful when JJ goes to the bench because hes on the bench we look awful because the only thing we have taught our young guys is how to stand around and watch JJ. We looked fine running screen and rolls and Crawford is a guy who we could run off screens as well the problem is the more sets you put in for the other players the less likely you can go back to iso joe . Woody is the one thats gonna pay the price ultimately for that The sad thing about Joe is that hes no longer a guard hes much more of a small forward now .

I think everyone knows he was talking about the 4th quarter which if thats the case everything you said is wrong because in the 4th Joe did none of those things Joe in the 4th was 0-4 with a 1 TO he had 1 assist off a Josh Smith long jumper he fouled Pierce 20 ft away from the basket sending him to the line And for the most part over dribbled the entire time he was in the 4th But you know its a long season and it happens but I just expect Joe to be more of a leader at this point not only be deed but by word .

you cant make those types of comparisons because its not fair to either player . Jamal Crawford by the end of next year will probably be in the top 15 all time in the nba in 3pt fg made . He is on his way to his seventh consecutive year with 100 3pt fg made . Cassell has never even made a 100 his game was never about long distance shooting going back to his florida state days . Sam has always been a pg who can shoot it kinda like Steve Nash is now but his game due to his size was more midrange as he preferred to back down smaller pg's and shoot over them Crawford imo is a scorer who can playmake

Crawfords horrible shot selection rep comes from him taking the quick three off the dribble other than that when his feet are set his three ball is as good as anyones in the league it always has been . Do you factor in end of the quarter/half heaves ? How many shots does he take to beat the buzzer ? same for JJ Our offense creates a lot of spot up threes and it would be more detrimental to the offense if Crawford and JJ took your advice and ignored the three ball in favor of the midrange game . People complain about over dribbling now but would go nutz if JJ and Crawford passed up wideopen three point shots to move closer to the basket to take a more contested higher percentage shot. So it really boils down to wideopen 3 contested 2 most coaches would take the 3 for 35% three ball shooters the beauty is that JJ and Crawford have the ability to make those contested shots as well. But you would prefer them to take the three unless the shot just is not falling for them. One thing I thought was interesting reading this thread was you said trust your eyes but did anyone realize that for the month of December Crawford shot 47% from two AND 47% from three.

Its possible simply because Mike Dunleavy is the GM . Josh for kaman changes the entire dynamic of that team. Camby/Jordan(who is the future center there anyway ) Griffin Josh/Butler Gordon/Davis Baron/Telfair You now have two shotblockers in the lineup and it becomes get the board ,block or deflection get the ball to Baron and run the floor. I know we dont want Josh at the three but I think with a point guard like Baron the Clipps would .

What game were people ? The problem was that at the start of the 4th we never actually went to the only guy on the team who has his offense going . Those first 4-5 minutes of the 4th we never went Crawford who had it going we forced the ball into the Zaza and AL and they either missed open shots or turned it over . Crawford had scored 7 of our last 12 points in the 3rd and assisted on another 2 but to start the 4th he was at the point bringing it to Joe or dumping it inside when we should have put Joe at the point and had him feed Crawford and we run pick and roll which was working from that position. We have to learn how to milk matchups until teams can stop it . They started doubling Crawford on pick and rolls way out by the 3 point line that helps us against there size inside but instead we chose to go straight at them and failed . Our rebounding was terrible if your shot is not falling then you should be going hard to the defensive glass everytime . Cleveland is a slow team at the 4-5 alot of times they just throw there bodies on your 4-5 and let Lebron or there guards just swop in to get the board .

Oh please Chauncey is shooting under 40% They are a very good home team but you are just a little bit too happy and are hyping them up bigtime . JR doesnt play anywhere near as well on the road and Melo doesnt get the same amount of calls neither . Again great home team but not the so much better team period that you are claiming . Theyve now lost 4 straight road games including the previous two games prior to tonight so this was an awfully big home game for them after losing to the Grizzlies

Our plan B is the screen and roll. With Crawford we now have the option of spreading the floor bringing a BIg Z or Shaq out to defend the screen and actually having someone that can use it to go right to the basket and either score or feed the bigman for a jumpshot or dunk . I like the way we matchup this year with any of the top teams in the east because any of those teams that put all of there focus into stopping iso Joe this year will lose .
