I admire your optimism, but not quite. The Spurs system has a guaranteed HOF big, one of the best EVER, in Tim Duncan and Al Horford is not nor will EVER be on Tim Duncan's level. Let me reiterate, NEVER EVER! THAT is one of the biggest reasons why they have been successful. Teague could possibly become a lite version of Tony Parker one day. Maybe. I wouldn't say Korver/Danny Green, Gus/Tiago are quite the same either. You might be able to make a case for Lou/Manu though. And let's not forget that Bud isn't Gregg Popovich and we have no idea if he'll become a great coach yet. Oh and we still need an elite first option. Which is no one on our current roster and I'm not sure if we even have the pieces to get one unless picks and Horford and/orTeague are given in the deal.

Building another team that's just in the middle is a failure itself. Failure to really contend and failure to land a possible franchise player.

Brand as our main rim protector kind of worries me. Especially at this point in his career. I don't see many players being afraid to put up a shot because Brand is there to swat it away. But yes, we do have a lot of big bodies. I wonder if they'll all be on the roster in February.

I agree with keeping him here. Who else on the roster (at this stage) is a legitimate rim protector/shot changer other than Bebe? At the very least he can contribute that.

I think Ferry just wants us to have some "Los Hawks" uniforms. Also, if we need a wing, what about Sun Yue? If we're just gonna be signing international players all willy nilly. But on a serious note, this is definitely a different team then we've had in the past. Even if we suck (which I kind of hope we do) it's gonna be interesting to watch how this team plays.

I want NO part of Bynum. Too injury prone and immature. Are we really so desperate that we're willing to take a chance and overpay a player like that? I don't see how we're changing the culture if we do.

I didn't have that much of a problem with the guy. Marv wasn't going to be an all-star HOFer but what he did give (outside of comedy in the chat) in defense and rebounding will be missed. Not sure what your tone is here but can you really say that you'd rather have Korver and/or Stevenson starting at the 3 than Marv on this squad?

Did Marvin just get a compliment from Diesel?! Lol But seriously, I agree. Defense and rebounding is going to be a problem with this current group. No one seems to ask Ferry or LD about the team's defensive issues. That said, I don't mind if this is our step back year in order to move forward to at least a future Eastern Conference final.

I'd argue that getting assists is more of a vision thing. I think Josh COULD get 6 apg, IF he played to his strengths. Teams would be forced to put more pressure on him... leaving one of our many shooters open. That said, I do hope that Josh is working on his ball handling right now in anticipation that he may be playing more SF than he has the past few seasons.

Don't we have enough offense as is? SOMEONE (outside of Josh when he turns on help defense mode, and Horford) has to protect the rim once the opposition gets past our defensive holes elsewhere. Is he Dwight Howard or Tyson Chandler? No. Of course not. Is he better than Collins and Petro? Yes. If he can be had for cheap...go for it Ferry.

All I'm saying is if we aren't going to compete for the EC finals then we might as well get a better pick. Lol. However if the draft class is THAT bad...All in all, if the team doesn't get someone like a Dwight or CP3 in the next offseason... aren't they kind of in the same position? Sure with a shitload more money which is always nice but if no one wants to come then what?As far as competing for a Top 4 spot... that's mighty bold there, KB21. I see the team as potentially scoring a lot but I don't imagine them stopping a lot. Some pretty apparent defensive holes on this roster. Not saying top 4 isn't possible, it definitely is... but my guess, at best, 6th seed.

From what I've seen ,Wanamaker isn't NBA material. He can't hold on to the ball in the SL, how do you think he'd fare in the real deal? Taylor is the better player in my eyes. As far as Pape, he never really gets any burn. No way he's that much worse than some of the players that get burn ahead of him... ie Shurna.

I find myself kind of hoping that the team doesn't make the playoffs. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to tank as I'd like to at least have a team that tries but IDK... the thought of possibly two draft picks next year sounds good to me, as well as all the cap space next off season. Think about that...2 draft picks and no BK or Rick Sund, errr I mean Gearon, to screw it up. Just a thought.
